Young is out for todays game, which is also senior day. Key is a game time decision

Young didn’t play in last years senior day either due to the same thing, a concussion.

As the old saying goes, Ohio state can't guard the wall. Well at least ahrens and brunk have 1st half buckets

With today's re- injury, will be shocked if Key comes back rest of season

This team is so up and down, we truly never know what to expect from game to game.

Ohio State should’ve gone 3-1 in these last 4 games and instead go 1-3. Injuries did play a part in that.

I would be looking for a pg for next season. Johnson is made of glass and really has been poor when on the court

Holtzman once again took the blame for "not giving solutions and that's on me." All fine and dandy to cover for your players but these are college athetes. Taking the blame all the time is not good -- long past time to kick some butts or is the coach really the problem? Injuries, yes, but SCUM was playing without arguably their top player.

With today's loss,SCUM teams have won the most recent meetings with Buckeye teams in football, both men's and women's basketball, ice hockey, baseball and softball. WTF? I HATE. losing anything to scUM, so what gives?

First time we played Mich they played like crap---this time they made shots and took care of the basketball. Oh,,,and we had the advantage of Howard coaching the first time too--LOL Second 1/2 our studs looked tired. It happens. 4 games in 8 days. No Kyle Young, limited Z. Mich doubled Brunk on the entry pass and he became a non factor. Need Young back and Key at 100% We're good enough to win an NCAA opener and possibly a second game if the matchup is right. Sueing being out sealed our limit on this season.

In the past, I have always supported coach Holtman, but watching his coaching this year, my support has been waning. Holtman had the Buckeyes in man to man coverage, virtually the entire game. He would call time-out and the following play on the floor remained the same prior to the time-out. In the 4th qtr., we hit a three to bring us within two, he called time-out. That's when we shcould have come out in a full court press and jacked up the intensity and pressure on Michigan! Nope, we dropped back in the same ole man to man. No mixing up defensive looks, when we were getting sliced and diced with well implemented give and goes from the opponent and getting beaten on a regular basis on penetration to the basket....anyone even consider mixing in some zone? This man must not practice any of so many press coverages that are available, because we rarely see that from his teams. We got a desperation full press with only a minute remaining. In this case, too little, too late. Increasingly, I see this program needing new leadership. I am disappointed in how coach Holtmann has wasted a talented group of guys. We need a coach with intensity, innovation and consistency. We are not getting that at the moment.

It was much earlier in the 4th quarter that we hit the 3 to bring us within 2. I don't recall seeing us in a zone in the last minute and a zone when you are down and the clock ticking to conclusion, would make no sense. A 2-3 or 3-2 zone would have been helpful earlier in the game.

He's been a non factor.

Branham was selected freshman of the year in the Big Ten and Liddell was first team.

Branham was selected freshman of the year in the Big Ten and Liddell was first team. Branham is a pure shooter, with the nicest, consistent shooting stroke that I've seen in a Buckeye uniform in a long time.

Branham was selected freshman of the year in the Big Ten and Liddell was first team. Dru Joyce answering questions about Branham before he enrolled at Ohio State. When you project him at the college level, what type of career do you envision him having? Joyce: Two or three years to develop him, I think he'll become the guy on wherever he goes.

Either Joyce is a lousy judge of talent or Holtmann and staff did a heck of a job in quickly developing him, once they got him away from Joyce.

C'mon Chris, mix it up a little more and be less predictable, defensively. There have been moments recently, where we had opportunities to apply some form of full court pressure on the ball at key points in recent games and nothing. Being without Kyle Young is going to be tough. Let's hope Zed Key can contribute.

Thank God they lost that game. Big ten tourney is meaningless.
Go get healthy and compete in the NCAA.

No Zed No Kyle No Meechie Ahrens gave us nothing Wheeler average performance Ced Russell 2 threes and nothing else Sotos nothing Brown 1 three and nothing else Brunk gave us 10 points, 7 boards Branham dinged but played below average not NBA looking Liddell stud, but cannot win the game by himself. Good news is we can hopefully rest up and heal up 6-8 seed in the NCAA

With Key and Young healthy they win that game easily.
I wonder if we even see Young in the NCAA tourney. With all the concussions he’s had I’m curious to see if he’s cleared by doctors.

This game, like so many recent others should have been in our win column. Every team has adversity in the form of injuries, but you play through them. At the two minute mark, a time-out is called, we are down 2 pts., Holtman sends the guys back out with the same ole, same ole. No change of defensive strategy or intensity with the game on the line.

Every team has adversity and normally when you have enough of it the expectations decline. This team was changed terribly when D Washington decided not to return. From that moment on, every big win this season was an abnormality and not an expected occurrence. But yet we as fans did not adjust.
