There were several people on here who said the time of Ontario as a basketball power was over. So no surprise. After losses in the next 2 games to R Valley and Upper Sandusky the Warriors have winnable games against CF, Galion and Pleasant So you are not surprised that a program that averaged 15+ wins a season over the last 35 years cannot find 5 wins in 15 games. Big difference between no longer being a basketball power and where they are now.

It’s no surprise that he leaves Madison and now Madison is having one of their better seasons in the past 10 years, while Ontario is struggling. Do you think the Madison AD or some Madison people gave a glowing recommendation to the Ontario AD for a reason.

If Ontario didn’t know what they were getting then it’s on them. They had plenty of data they could obtain directly. If they counted on recommendations then they weren’t paying attention. They played against him and common opponents.

Ontario is struggling due to 3 kids who'd be starters transferred and the 4th broke his hand in the first game. Two kids who could have helped didn't go out. There is only ONE player on the team with any varsity experience and he came off the bench last year. If Balogh was head coach this year, he might have one more win than they currently have.

The Madison AD wanted out of Madison, but was turned down when he applied for the Ontario AD job a couple of years ago

Mergel was one and the other one lied to the search committee.

Good win by Shelby, who will win the MOAC. Bruskotter is the best player in the league. Back and forth game, whippets put it away late.

It was a good game. Very close throughout. The RV Shelby game was only a radio feed, so I haven't seen them as much as listened to them. But Harding is no slouch in the league, easily the best I've seen in the MOAC at this point.

Good win for the Whippets. Tale of who halves. Harding might have made one jump shot in the entire first half as most of their points were either taking it to the basket or offensive rebounds. Shelby clamped down defensively and made them beat them with jump shots. Took until the fourth quarter to pull away. Final score definitely not indicative of how close this game was. Two good teams. Great test for Shelby as they will more than likely see a very similar athletic, physical team on Tuesday when they travel to Mansfield Senior. Love that they control their own destiny to win a third straight league title.

Shelby was fortunate to win. Whippets are not a good shooting team. Shelby girls are much better from the field. Bruskhotter forces alot of shots and like last night, collects many of his points at free throw line. Penetrates well and draws the foul call. Hill and big kid inside are glue that holds team together IMO.

Hill and big kid inside are glue that holds team together IMO. Neither team shot the ball particularly well. And yes, Shelby did miss a ton of bunnies. But good teams and good players find ways to help their team win. If that means getting to the line then so be it. I thought Shelby defense in the second half was the difference in this game.

Senior scored a total of 16 points in the 2nd half, after putting up 45 in the first half. Kinda typical for the TYgers this year.

Nice comeback win for Shelby. Great defense in the second half. Did a great job of limiting second shots. Plus they were very aggressive going to the basket in the second half. Shelby had 16 made free throws in the second half alone.
Senior is a one-man team. Ware really could use some help but just doesn’t have that sidekick he can turn to to help when he is covered. Still a dangerous team that many higher seede teams won’t want to see in the tournament

Still a dangerous team that many higher seede teams won’t want to see in the tournament "Dangerous" IF they ever could muster an entire game like they had in the first half. I thought Upchurch was going to be the next great player at Senior, at least that's what his dad told me.

Ontario win was a shocker. Did Upper have players out? I thought Danville might beat highland Ontario has a Sophomore and a Freshman getting more playing time. Also Ontario's 6-4 and 6-5 players were plagued with foul trouble. Do not keep track of players for N-10 teams, but their record outside of the N-10 is not good. Other than a couple of years under a young coach who moved on, Danville's basketball program has not been close to their football.

Ontario win was a shocker. Did Upper have players out? I thought Danville might beat highland Upper is not at the level they have been in recent years, which is obvious sine they already have 5 losses and could end up with 8 or even 10 before tournament. When Delbrugge can score 20+ Ontario has a chance.

I did not see last nights game but there has not been a freshman playing varsity for Ontario. That is a false statement.
