Onto week 8, Harding fell to JA last week on count of turnovers and not stopping the run. Pleasant defeated BV in a game dominated by pleasant but looked as bv never even showed up. I'll pick Harding in this one by 14 as it is a bounce back type game. Thoughts?

it will be interesting to see what Harding team shows up to be honest... will it be one that wants to finish the season strong with no chance at a conference championship or playoffs or one that showed up in the second half last week in the JA game not caring giving up... im hoping since its somewhat of a rivalry game to some of these guys they come out fired up... well see

They wanna beat Marion county teams more then anything. They will get this one this week and win out I'm calling it now. Titus Douglas snapped on pleasant last year I can see it happening again.

Harding is playing for first winning record in a decade or more I believe now. Only goal. So I'm sure they could get it b

The galion fans will pick pleasant and some will pick pleasant just from them beating bv, but they'll see this week.

It's possible that some on here might pick pleasant simply because Harding has shown no signs of being able to play mistake free, well disciplined football for any more than 2 quarters a game. I believe that I stated in the JA thread last week that if they shot themselves in the foot against Alder like they did against us it wouldn't be close. And guess what? Do you really think that if they couldn't pull it together and focus for "the biggest game in over a decade" that they're just magically going to do it now?

Haven't turned the ball over all year much as did last week. I believe That won't happen again. The better team will win. I believe pleasant offense is to weak to win. Only putting up 14 on north union. Time will tell

You put a poll up asking people to pick and them make every excuse possible when the poll goes a direction you don't agree with. SMH
Its a coin toss game in my opinion. Where classic things like turnovers and penalties make huge impacts. Both teams have weakness and it will also come down to how the coaches attack those weakness and the other coach tries to correct those weakness.
Harding wants to beat anyone lets not limit it to Marion county teams... you are 2 seasons away from 0-10 and any win is important. If there is added interest in this game its because many of the Harding fans have done nothing but talk trash. Much in the same way people root against GT many people root against Harding. There are great fans and we have a few of them on here but some enjoy the game of crap talking more than the actual game itself.

I agree with you. And I was just saying the galion fans don't like Harding lol so they'll go against. But no turnovers Harding wins and I'll leave it at that.

Harding beat pleasant by like 20 last year and they return the same team minus a couple, I believe they'll do that again maybe by a little less.

I've seen both teams against Alder. I'll go with Pleasant.
Pleasant seems to be playing very sound football right now. They played Alder pretty tough, until we wore them down in the 2nd half. They play with a lot of confidence and there defense has been lights out, limiting all teams except for Alder at or below 7 points all year.
Harding played sloppy this week and last week. Couldn't handle the big lights and the high stakes. Too worried about talking than executing. There defense wasn't as good as advertised. Offense has big play ability, but lacks any consistency,

Very valid opinion. Hardings played 1 bad game this year. Offense fired against JA but turnovers. Moved ball when wanted easily. I think it'll just be a matchup of offenses, maybe even a high scoring game. There's some frustration in Harding because rb Douglas didn't get the ball as much, so I'm sure he'll be looking to this week for a big game. They're evenly matched basically.

Offense has big play ability, but lacks any consistency, i will agree with that...alot of people around here including the media put alot of pressure on the team last week and Alder was the more experienced team and it showed... Harding has made way to many mistakes this year for a team that brought back so much coaches included... turnovers, bad play calling, looking totally lost at times.... heck even our fan base was embarrassing last week didnt seem to care about the game at all... But i think that is a weakness of Alder as well they can be very cocky at times because they really havent been challenged yet this year and it could hurt come playoff time. i honestly see it being a very close game with Pleasant honestly if we are mistake free we look great(North Union) if we start making a mistake the team implodes it seems getting frustrated and i really wish our offensive coordinator would actually stick with a offensive game plan every week....

Alder Cocky or Confident? I don't see a lot of showboating or trash talking out of these guys honestly. They are not dirty and don't get a lot of penalties called on them for any extra activity. Have only see one unsportsmanlike called all year and that was in the BV game after a player from BV ended up getting tossed.
I do agree they haven't really been tested too much this year. The last 2 weeks have been good for them. Alder has only trailed in one game this year to pleasant after two early turnovers. I don't think they panicked at all, they responded and got the lead back quickly. That was good sign.
Hopefully they learned after last year's 1st round loss. Everyone just seemed happy to win the conference and make the playoffs. Hoping the attitude and the switch turns on come playoff time. I think this team is capable of making a regional final. Alder will have to play perfect to compete with Hartley when and if the time comes. Looking like right now they could play Highland the 1st round if all goes as projected.

He's a great play caller. D2 heisman runner up a few years ago. It has to do if line blocks too. Only thing I didn't agree with was Douglas should have got ball more. But we stayed in shot gun cause of JA defensive size. Against pleasant I believe Douglas will run the ball a lot. Looming from big game he had against them last year.

Highland will be an easy one for them. Anyone in red could beat them except Galion and Fairbanks. I'm gonna root for JA in playoffs hope they can show out for moac.

I agree with you. And I was just saying the galion fans don't like Harding lol so they'll go against. But no turnovers Harding wins and I'll leave it at that. That's not a fair statement though. I think you are projecting the comments of one or two Galion fans on the whole base and then preemptively disqualifying the poll result. I did pick Pleasant but not because of any ill will toward Harding. I did it because they are 6-1. Harding is 3-4. Pleasant was more competitive against the gold standard in our conference on the road than Harding was at home. I think Harding is better than their record based on some of the teams they lost to but Pleasant could just as easily say that and more justifiably so. That being said, I believe the Harding COULD win this game. I just don't think they are the favorite to do so.

Only a handful on here like Harding haha. If/when Harding wins this week, doubt they'll be favored next week. But it'll be a good game. Pleasant is a solid team, just a weak non-conf schedule.

Hardings defensive captain didn't play against alder I don't think he's one of the moac leader in tackles. So it makes a big difference but nothing drastic , I'm sure he'll be back against pleasant. Heard that from a parent yesterday.
