Winter sports may be priority now, but for your spare time, who is your favorite for the first season of the new MOAC?

It's too early to pick anything for certain but I can see Pleasant, Harding, North Union, River Valley towards the top in no particular order. Also don't count out Ontario with Hawkins coaching there. Same goes for Clear Fork with Dave Carroll. I think this will be a good conference to be a part of but am concerned the way some especially from Pleasant and NU are griping about Harding and their size. Buckeye Valley confuses me. They are a bigger school with a lot of talent, but they seem to self destruct a lot. And Galion could well finish towards the bottom. I think they will be better than this year, but the better talent is still a year or two away from making a significant impact.

Really way to early haha. I'm not familiar with new schools football teams. But Harding will have a good offense most likely, Thompson can run the ball and is very accurate he's been waiting for his chance. Douglas returning at RB, defense will be the question out side of d line. I think rv will be pretty good and pleasant. Any team has a chance next year.

I think as long as they stay interested and focused Galion could be alright in 2 years. Maybe this year who knows.

Having coached the next upcoming classes as part of Harding's Youth League program (5+ years), I'm confident next year's sophomores, freshmen, and 8th grade are going to improve upon the football program for next 5 years. With that said, the program's success is on Noah Thompson's understanding and leadership of Harding's playbook and experience left with Ryan Sayre's departure.
Pleasant, River Valley and North Union all have excellent upcoming classes, which makes for quite an balanced league. For now, I will wait closer to the start of fall camp before giving a more in depth opinion.

Some season ticket holders have already expressed their feelings about this new league. They are not happy and expect others to feel the same once they travel to North Union, River Valley, Marion Pleasant and host Buckeye valley and Marion Harding.

"Some season ticket holders". A number please, instead of an innuendo. How many have you spoken to in person 5-10?

Why would they have a problem hosting BV and Harding? Also, this fanbase traveled to West Holmes, Orrville, and Wooster without complaint. I'm certain if they are winning they will support their team regardless.

5 loyal supporters while watching a game, but their wives go too so would that count as 10. Some of them also mentioned their sons not being happy so would family be counted. The number could be as many as 13 if so. The friends that they talked to and agreed with them we will definitely not count.

Obviously not as big a factor as continually losing to schools 2 to 3 divisions larger than them. Again, what is their problem with hosting BV and Harding?

I'm certain if they are winning they will support their team regardless. They have no trouble hosting, but when they actually see the size schools they will be playing it may change. Just to be clear this move was originally spread as joining with the MOAC Blue and some still had that in their heads that it would all get worked out. Clear Fork football has changed in the last 5 years with no sign of it changing back. The hill is rarely filled at home games and bringing in non-rival schools will not help that.

If someone thought that the blue was to be saved they were mistaken. I thought both schools formally accept after the announcement was made for the Blue to split. SO if that is the case something doesn't add up in your statements.

See the size of the schools? Isn't that info readily available online? Besides trust me when I tell BV and MH do not play anywhere near the level as the D3 and D2 schools on their schedule now. In fact you really don't notice the difference between them and a decent to good D4/5 school. JA was really the only team capable of playing at an OCC level and they are gone now.

I'm certain if they are winning they will support their team regardless. Orrville was less than 1 hour and was good games. Wooster was 45 minutes and has been tough games. West Holmes was 45 minutes and fairly even. if not in the Colts favor. Harding is less than 1 hour, but 3 division bigger as pointed out, and improving. Buckeye valley is an hour, 2 divisions bigger as pointed out.
North Union is over an hour and that is not what was wanted. Honestly, I could care less who and when Clear Fork plays but I was just posting about some talks that are going on behind the scenes. And these talks are what lead to the current changes.

Someone has to be the furthest from other schools in a league. Clear Fork was the furthest South and West in the OCC, they are now the furthest to the East in the MOAC. They will now be a middle sized school in the MOAC instead of by far the smallest in the OCC, making traveling for the VAST majority easier to do. The OCC is not a good fit for DV schools. So, less than 1% of the people in the Clear Fork district? And your think this is worthy of a snide remark?? Over four years, I did not hear one complaint from anyone in Ontario about driving to Lake Erie for games. I don't expect to hear any complaints about driving to Marion County for games either. The administration made a great decision to choose the NOL over the OCC and the MOAC over the OCC. Move on, look for another DI-DII school for the OCC. OR maybe you can talk Lucas, Crestline or Loudonville into joining the OCC, since they now are the only 3 schools that play football in their current league. AND they will all have MUCH shorter drives to games due to playing schools in the 4 corners of the state to fill in their schedule. AND attendance would be MUCH greater in the OCC, compared to crowds from Waterloo, Lakota, Arlington, Grove City Catholic, Ridgedale, St. Joe Central Catholic, St. Wendy and SMCC.

The Big DoD in the Blue wanted no part of Clear Fork. Why do you suppose itsy bitsy Danville is the 8th school?

Once again you are looking for an argument that is not here. I am simply telling you that some of the loyal athletic supporters are not happy with this move. This change was not driven by a mass from the community. It is felt to be the push by 1 coach and a few of his influential supporters and a temporary AD. Those are not my words.

Danville was someone they all approved. It's not a big deal.

Give it up, move on. If you think the old timers in the valley are clueless, then you are showing your ignorance to the topic at hand. And I will move because of that.
