3 RV players commit to play football at the next level, Fry to D2 Notre Dame College (Ohio) and the other 2 to D3 Ohio Wesleyan and Ross to Otterbein. Marion Harding Middlesworth commits to Ohio Dominican and still waiting on Sayre and Jefferson’s decision. Brady decided to not play at D2 Tiffin, leaving scholarship money on the table. Good Luck to them all.

It will be interesting to see where the divisions break out. If these numbers hold up would that bring Clear Fork and Galion back into DIV?

185 was the cutoff for the past two seasons for D5. I don't think that line will move enough to keep Galion there, if Galion's number holds up.

"Last time" it took 3 tries before all schools agreed with the numbers
Can you believe that Clear Fork gained 44, Galion gained 48, Madison gained 39, Lex gained 27, North Union 23 when they all have been shrinking every time over the past decade? Marion gained 11 when all of their "experts" on here said they were going to drop a Division this year. What about Mt. Vernon gaining 87! Wooster gaining 76! Ashland gaining 59! I know Senior is shrinking, but lose 55 this year? Making Madison 44 boys larger than Senior, when Senior was 54 larger than Madison last time.

Or some schools didn't report correctly last time..... Original numbers do not get "reported" to the OHSAA, they are collected directly from ODE. Then the schools give their input after.

Right now it looks like all the people who left Ohio for the South have moved back in the past 2 years.

He played corner and I think receiver. When he played Varsity it was just corner but I think he played receiver too on JV... He played basketball last year but not this year. He's a really good athlete but not Ontario Basketball material IMO... I think he came to Galion from Mansfield Sr to play for Hawkins so it makes sense that he would want to transfer to Ontario.

The kid is going to be amazing. He really came on at the end of the season. Ran a kickoff back for a touchdown, but a penalty brought it back. He started scoring touchdowns at the end of the season for varsity. Best game was the last game against Pleasant. Big kid who has great hands...needs to gain weight..bean pole. But he makes plays. I saw him down at a football camp last year at Otterbein..shutting down receivers on routes. He got burned a couple times early in the season, but he's young. I will say this "just speaking my mind here and being honest" his fellow players did not like this kid. Said he was very cocky...maybe they were jealous..no clue. I heard it from the only 2 players I spoke to on the team. LOL Cocky or not...the kid is going to be an AMAZING talent on the football field. Who ever gets him is going to get a play-maker.
His dad (or step-dad) coached football in Ontario I think for the younger kids a few years ago..might have been a traveling basketball team. Nice guy I've talked to him a few times. Buuuuttt his dad was EXTREMELY disappointed that his son wasn't involved in the offense more during the season. So if he moves I can kind of understand it. I was sooooo begging for Chase to get him the ball at the start of the season. The plays just weren't designed to go to him though. That was a HUGE mistake in my mind as shown at the end of the season how good he is.

A super freshman with a big ego we should build a team around. I've seen this movie before. GT, you weren't here for the DW experience. Take my word for it the results aren't worth the drama.

Also I know a few of you have asked about my son and if he's going to get any kind of scholarship. He is not under any kind of scholarship yet. He won't be playing Division 2...of course. He's getting turned down now by Division 3 schools because of his GPA. With 4 of his classes being year long classes, they don't figure into his GPA yet. He's sitting at a 2.2..needs like at least a 2.5. I really would like to see him play at a particular DIV 3 college he visited yesterday to meet the new head coach. I think it would be a perfect fit for him. He had a one-on-one interview with the admissions office yesterday too. They said they will notify him in 2 weeks, but we've heard that same song and dance. So Chase is down to like three Division 3 teams and that's his only chance. Ashland offered him a financial package and to try and play for football money next year. Tiffin accepted him too..but not to play football. They gave him a Dean Grant, a 9,000 dollars every year for 4 years..maintain a 2.0 GPA. So I guess there's still option, I sure would like for him to play football though. It's funny all the colleges keep telling me that he's #1 on their board. I think they tell that to everyone. I'm thinking, "If he's #1, why the hell can't a college football coach pull some strings with the Dean or something?" hahaha!
*** the sad thing about the GPA too is Chase was on the Merit Roll last semester and now he is doing even better..all A's and B's so far. It's a little too late. It's his own fault. He only has himself to blame. He's still staying positive though.

Dean's don't "pull strings", the coaches are "stringing" you along with that story. Hoping you're send him there on your own, play football, getting a free look at him. Thinking about next year's recruiting class.
Have you thought about the Junior College route? That solves his academic problems with the year long classes. Will prepare him more academically and playing a year against better competition than faced in high school and most DIII schools. After that a DII school could be interested. Also MUCH less expensive.
You want him to play football TOO much, isn't his education MUCH more important? JMO.

Juco route!! It's very underrated. If he gets to a solid juco. And puts up numbers. He'll get a d2 offer. Even d1 possible if you start and have good numbers. Never know. Sky is the limit.

Well I spoke to a Division 2 college head coach that will offer him a walk-up qb slot to fight for a scholarship. The college gave us a decent financial package..about 6200 a half year. So it's a hard choice, but Chase might be disqualified, because the college doesn't SUPER score the ACT. I thought most Division 2 colleges would take the highest score on whatever ACT score you had. Chase scored the highest on his last ACT score, but the worst in the math section. In fact in every other ACT he has taken in the past, he was has a good enough math score for this college, except this last test. They are talking probation for a semester because of this one score. I'm seeking more guidance on this. Plus we are still waiting on the financial aide package of two - Division 3 schools.
Of course we are focusing on education. The Division 2 college would be an excellent choice for his degree actually. They have summer internships for the FBI down in Washington. I'm actually not too concerned about Chase not being able to handle college level classes. He's doing fabulous now, it's just too late. I've thought about JUCO like a Hocking Hills, but I spoke to the college last year about my oldest son joining the team. He wouldn't let him, because it was a few weeks before the season. He said they have like 125 or 175 kids that were on the football team. But I've heard good news about a Juco colleges, the only thing I heard though is that county for years of college football. So if you spend 2 years down there, that's 2 years less at the college you get recruited by.
