Yet as a program, they refuse (outside of Norwalk) play the likes of Bellevue, Perkins, Clyde, etc in the bigger division next year? They have proiven in the playoffs that they need to beef up and can handle playing some of these programs??? Sign the likes of Willard and SMCC?

As witnessed by the past 2 seasons, their scheduling practices seem to be working just fine

You guys act like these smaller schools somehow "owe" you to schedule them and make your lives easier. If, in your opinion, Edison needs to "beef up" their schedule then shouldn't the same be true of the other schools that you mentioned? Shouldn't they be looking for schools larger than themselves as well rather than scheduling a D5 school?

Actually after next year, they will need that schedule to get to ,500

The same was said about this year.
The supposed SBC big boys just can't handle the fact that OH, PC, SMCC, Margaretta, Huron and Edison no longer MUST play Clyde and Perkins. INSTEAD the complainers MUST play Norwalk, Sandusky, TC and Bellevue. The NEW SBC is not as good for them as they once thought. OR shall we say, they didn't think.

You might want to look at Bellevues schedule before you include them in your beef up their schedule comment. IMO Edison is just fine doing what they are doing they had a good mix of upper school play, Clyde, Perkins, P.C. and Oak Harbor are all bigger schools being III and IV correct. They will need the equal or lower teams to help them in the future for up and down happens. Edison has looked great the last two seasons. Good luck Edison.

How about we talk about the game? CCC had a very tough schedule at the beginning of the year including a win over Massillon Perry, a D2 semi-finalist.
Full disclosure I said earlier this season when Edison schedule was brought up that they have nobody to answer to, since they are now back to back regional champs they definitely can make their schedule anyway they want

Back to the game. I think Edison has played tougher competition in the playoffs so far but not in the regular season. CCC a nice win over Massillon Perry but very close against a weak Akron Garfield team 20-13 and Loudonville 38-13 which sounds impressive but should have been much worse then that. Edison had a nice win over Port Clinton and all three playoff games were solid competition. I like Edison in this one 24-17

Right, donutshopguy...........I've always looked at the SBC as a "family"......we bicker amongst ourselves, but when the season is over, we cheer for each other in the playoffs!! Go Chargers!

CCC is a good team but beatable. If Edison wins in the trenches they will advance to the State Championship game.

Edison played Norwalk when the Truckers got better and made the playoffs both times, not to mention had to put up playing in a conference with teams that were (much) bigger than them. I had no idea how much smaller Edison was than the rest of the old SBC until I looked at the numbers last year. I always assumed they were about the same size as Port Clinton and Oak Harbor. Perhaps Clyde and Perkins had it too good in the past and now you're mad because things aren't like that anymore? This was a move that should've been made 5-10 years ago. Quit sticking up for the big boys.

john studd start eating crow.we have norwalk, port clinton, firelands(8-2)and a big one at home vs shelby october 6,2017.so give the chargers a little respect.we are smaller than perkins, clyde, bellevue, norwalk oak harbor and port clinton, all division 3 and 4 schools.

Toledo Start is D1 as well. Bellevue is playing Canton CC as well.... Edison dropped Norwalk like a LEAD BALLOON as soon as they could, which they did. ("We can't play all these D3 schools. Our kids just can't compete"). My MAIN point is why not play a local LEAGUE AFFILIATED school (like a Bellevue, Clyde, etc) who ACTUALLY travel and support their programs and BOTH schools benefit from a legitimate gate. So yeah, the bigs have to play up, travel half across the state to find games while when they do host the visiting team brings under 50 fans. (Of course, Edison usually brings 150 max anyways. PLEASE don't pretend that they travel during the year. Huron is another guilty party to this.) Why doesn't Edison play St. Paul? ? Great gate, 5 minutes away...wait.....Two Divisions bigger than them.... Anyways, good luck to the Chargers...

DUH, Edison could play a local LEAGUE AFFILIATED school by playing a River Division school. Why must you demand they play up?

I think Edison is a little better this year than last year. Canton lost some big time players and appears a little young this year. 35-21 Edison

I have looked more into these two teams and I agree with Streaknation. I also feel that Edison's offense is much stronger then CCC. I like Edison 28-17 in this one. Hope I am right!
