There was a league announcement made that we can exceed the active roster maximum via extra draft picks acquired via trades, as long as we are back at or below the maximum by opening day
Is the same true for minors rosters?

There was a league announcement made that we can exceed the active roster maximum via extra draft picks acquired via trades, as long as we are back at or below the maximum by opening day Is the same true for minors rosters? I don't see why not. It's only about 2 weeks until opening day anyways |

I remember it being somewhat issue in the past, but there's not a lot we can do about it outside of keeping transactions locked until the day before opening day or something

Not sure if it has happened entering opening day or not. I'm not terribly worried about it one way or the other. |

I meant more at the beginning where some teams move their guys to DL earlier and corresponding owners get a jump on the waiver wire. I remember it cause it's one of the reasons I lost Wheeler a few years ago(not having Active DL Keeper yet was the other), I had to have someone stupid at the time and dropped him because the Mets waited to put him on the DL. In hindsight, it probably worked out OK. I've had Dylan Bundy eating a Minors spot for just as long, didn't really need two inactive pitcher. |

lol and you took the guy I was targeting. bwahahah! oh the tragedy of it all! waited 23.999 hours only to see them gone at the deadline. but in all seriousness I had 4 or 5 people ahead of him that (I didn't realize) had been drafted so I'm crazily scouring lists and names trying to find somebody available before my time was up. didn't want to be Minnesota Viking'd even though, in the end, that worked out for them with Kevin Williams. |
