WOW!!! didn't realize how many old OHC schools in this conference Yes, by design when the OHC ended, five of the schools moved on together and formed the OCC.

According to the MNJ Football Preview portion of their paper, it said that last year Senior had 3 Freshmen starters on their O-line. I had no idea. President Fillmore, Senior had 6 freshmen start last year. 3 OL, Grose at WR, Caudill at TE and LB and Irving at NT. Never seen anything like that before in my 60+ yrs. Knew about Grose and Caudill. It's another story completely when over half of your O-line are Freshman. Another example of how linemen live in anonymity.

Mansfield will win the conference this year. I say they go 9-1 with their only lose coming to Toledo St.Johns 9-1 would be impressive.

Well after two weeks it looks like two teams we thought would be there till the end are now 0-2 both getting destroyed. Lex losing 41-7 to Shelby and Wooster losing 47-0 to Wadsworth.
Mount Vernon with a nice bounce back win.
Ashland with a tough loss vs a very good Clyde team 22-19. Clyde had one of the biggest offensive lines I have seen in awhile.

I'm beginning to think that it's possible that the loser of the Madison/Lex game might go 0-10.

galion, I would add Wooster to the possible list of 0-10.

I'm beginning to think that it's possible that the loser of the Madison/Lex game might go 0-10. Lexington may have one of the least experienced teams in the area with the loss of 19 seniors last year and most playing both sides of the ball. Madison shows signs of improvement but misses on fundamentals a lot of times. They have a few big play guys but not a consistent effort. Wooster is a shock to me.

After watching the Shelby game, I just don't see where that offense is going to improve that much. I suppose they have a shot against Orrville this week. Madison? That RV score speaks volumes. I don't think RV beat Upper that badly.

Don't forget that Shelby has one of the best lines in the area and although they are missing some players, no lineman are missing. RV did beat Madison worse than Upper. As of now Lexington, Madison, Wooster and West Holmes are all 0-2.

Not the strongest year for the OCC. Most leagues do have their ups and downs. This surely looks like a down year for the OCC after 2 weeks of play.

Long way to go but Ashland at Senior on Oct 6 should be the conference title game. Homecoming game for Senior.

I Really don't think that Ashland is going to give Mansfield much of a game. Mark my words Mansfield by 3 Tds. I see possibly two teams making the playoffs from the OCC. I'm just wondering who's going to finish third.

Ashland and Sr traditionally play each other rather close regardless of each team's record.

I'm going to hold of judgment until I see Mansfield play someone decent. If they win this week then I will be a believer. I just don't think there QB has shown me enough to say they are going to run away with this thing.

With 5 of the 7 teams having losing records going into OCC play, it's a good indicator the conference is down this year.

The conference is defiantly down this year. Both Wooster and West Holmes played better in week three, it will be interesting to see how that carries into the rest of the season. I don't see Madison winning a game, giving up 51 points a game is rough. I expect Wooster to be much better come OCC play. I still think they finish in the top 3.

Finishing in the top 3 of the OCC and having a 5-5 is very possible.

I'd put money on Wooster in this one. May be a break out game for them as their next 3 are Madison, Lexington and West Holmes.

If Wooster doesn't win by 3 td's I will be shocked. Have a feeling Wooster is going to blow of some frustration on the Rams.

Interesting week in OCC as league play starts. Ashland has to travel to Fed league team Uniontown Lake. Tough game for the Arrows on the road vs a good, not great team. Lake 35-31
West Holmes at Senior- WH put up a good fight against a good Bellevue team last week and Senior might be without their QB. Defense will prevail. Senior 34-7
Lexington at Mt Vernon - A pair of 1-2 teams that, on paper, appear to be evenly matched. Lex righted the ship last week in the 2nd half vs Orrville (which beat Wooster), and the Yellow Jackets lost to Buckeye Valley. This game should be over early (I mean time wise) as both want to run the ball. Since it's at MV... MV 21-14
Madison at Wooster - A pair of winless teams face off in Generalville. Wooster has played the better schedule and could be ready to eat some mutton. Woo 42-7.
OCC report for week 4.

I believe Ashland has a good chance of beating Lake, that will be a game to watch. Hoping the Generals can get one in the win column this week.

I'm worried about Ashland this week. Lake is a power running team and Ashland is historically had a tough time with teams that like to run it down your throat. Will be a big test for them.

Hearing that Trey Mathis fractured his foot in last weeks game. Out for the season now. That will have a big impact for Wooster. Trey came back last week and it made a difference for Wooster having him in the backfield. Tough break for the team and tough break for Trey.
