fbfan, schools leaving leagues either one at a time or in groups to form or merge with other leagues is nothing new. Similar to what the OHC and MOAC Blue did. Both left schools out in their new ventures.

The MOAC Blue didn't really leave anyone out in their "new venture". What was left was an 8 school league. An ideal situation for a league. One school leaving a league doesn't leave anyone out. The school leaving is the 12% minority in an 8 school league, in the case of the OCC. Can you give us the the other examples of when a 60% "group" left a league? Since you say it's nothing new.

Four months later Calvert, Hopewell-Loudon, and North Baltimore announced they would leave the MAL to join the BVC leaving the MAL with 2 football playing schools (St. Joe and Lakota) to twist in the wind. (Ultimately Calvert was not accepted to the BVC, agreed to join the SRL and then screwed them by joining the TAAC without ever playing a game.... then they leave the TAAC after two years for the SBC... but I digress.) Two groups making up 75% of the football playing schools announced they were leaving within 4 months. Maybe the solution is to just eliminate all leagues and have everyone schedule as indepenent?

gridiron58, you can add to that when the MOAC Blue members left Elgin out and 87.5% left to form the KMAC and when the OHC members left Harding and Vermilion out and 71.4% left to form the OCC.

Who cares about Shelby to the MOAC. BYE and good luck in the MOAC. Makes sense for the school travel to get out of the SBC. I was surprised to see them come to the SBC. I'm sure it was the only option they had. After this year senior class it will really make sense to get out of the SBC. Just saying.

Carey, Mohawk and SE was a domino affect of the NCC 6 talking them into being a part of their NEW N-10. With that the MAL was toast. Every move after that fell into the category of every man for themselves. OR you can go the California path, where no schools are allowed to change leagues. Their State High School Association periodically makes changes to most leagues that they deem necessary and prudent.

Elgin created a conundrum for themselves. They are a Marion County so they should be in MOAC Red, but they wanted no part of playing the bigger schools and wanted to be in MOAC Blue (now KMAC) with the little schools. But no one in Knox or Morrow county wanted to travel to Marion County to play Elgin.

Elgin wanted to join Ridgedale in the N10, but Upper was chosen to replace Riverdale instead. This does not change the fact that 7 schools worked to form a league without them. As was the case with the OHC and Marion Harding-Vermilion, the NCC with Ontario-Lucas and the MAL examples gridiron58 gave.

They were a Richland County so they should have been in the OCC but they wanted no part of playing the bigger schools and wanted to be in the NCC with the little schools. But no one in Crawford County wanted to travel to Richland County to play Ontario and Lucas. Thanks for explaining how that works instead of just saying that some of the schools in the NCC "did" something to Ontario and the others. They did it to themselves by creating a conundrum!!!

But Galion is in Crawford county and Upper is in Wyandot country so what did they do wrong? Why were they not invited to join the N10?

Nope, wrong again. More wrong than usual.
You are SO SO wrong. The NCC....Wynford, BC, CC, Crestline and Riverdale all WANTED Ontario to join them in the NCC in 1990. They also wanted MUCH further Frederickton in the NCC. They WANTED Lucas as a member in 1998. Just like they WANTED Galion, a Crawford County brother, as a member in 2009. All of those Crawford County schools and much further Riverdale WANTED to travel to Ontario for TWENTY-ONE years. You are the conundrum, not having an analytical mind. Elgin did not want to play their close by Marion County brethren. Just the opposite of your postulate.
I never have said the NCC 6 didn't have a right to do what they did. But please, stop being untruthful. Stop with the BS. If it was about travel, why in the heck was Riverdale included in the N-10? Bucyrus is the center of Crawford Country schools. It is 37 miles to Riverdale and 21 miles to Ontario. Upper, in a different county in the opposite direction is only 4 miles further from Bucyrus HS than Ontario HS. Carey, Mohawk and Seneca East, ALSO in different counties, are equal to or a further distance than Ontario. STOP with the distance excuse, obviously your're being deceitful.
You wanted Ontario to go to the OCC?? Showing your lack of knowledge again. From the year the OCC was created until 2 years ago they always had 8 members. They did not want another member, Ontario or any other school. Try again, what league had an opening for Ontario? Luckily, when the NCC 6 left Ontario, there was an opening in the Big Bad NOL. Ontario Joined the NOL being the next to smallest school. No fear, like the fear the NCC 6 had.
BTW, when the NCC WANTED Ontario, only BC was DIV. All other schools were DIII, like Ontario. Is it Ontario's fault that families want to move to Ontario and at the same time move away from Crawford County schools??
EVERYTHING in your excuse making post is 100% incorrect. You know the truth, tell it. It will set you free. Instead of having to continue to ask for forgiveness for you untruths on Sundays. You should be embarrassed for all the deceit for why the NCC 6 wanted to get away from Ontario and Galion.
What's hilarious is that they also wanted to get away from Upper, yet 2 years later they invited them back into the fold. ?Distance? ROFL!
You should have stayed away as you promised. It would have saved your chagrin.

Elgin wanted to join Ridgedale in the N10, but Upper was chosen to replace Riverdale instead. Yep, the N-10 used the "distance" excuse on Elgin too. They would rather embarrass themselves by inviting back a school they ran away from 2 years prior.

gridiron58, another interesting tidbit. In 1990 a local league with 10 schools had 6 of them bolt for other leagues opportunities leaving 4 schools behind. So that is another example of large numbers leaving a league at the same time. It is nothing new.

They replaced a charter member. They replaced Riverdale, who played one season of football in the N10 just as Upper played one season of football in the MOAC.

They replaced a charter member. They replaced Riverdale, who played one season of football in the N10 just as Upper played one season of football in the MOAC. Riverdale never played a contest in the N10. They left or were terminated(depending on who you talk to) before ever competing in anything. Upper was a member for every sport but football in the first season of the N10. So they are a charter member as they opened the conference with all the other schools.

However, the Crawford Country schools WANTED Riverdale in the N-10. In the public announcement about the creation of the N-10 Riverdale WAS one of the 10 schools.

You should have stayed away as you promised. It would have saved your chagrin. I know, I don't like posting off topic too much, but someone keeps bringing up old news about the N10 every time a school changes leagues. If you can't let what happened six years ago go, why don't you start a new thread where you can do all the twisting you want.

fbfan, as we have both proven, schools leaving leagues in mass groups is nothing new. The only difference in this case is the school they were running from and the zealot that doesn't like it.

More dishonesty from you. Look back, I have only been responding after you FIRST post untruths.
This is not about what was done to anyone. Other than your dishonest words.
It's about falsehoods, untruths, BS. What was the reason that the NCC left Galion, Upper, and Ontario? fbfan says it was because of "distance". The biggest line of BS ever perpetrated on NCOAST. Riverdale was one of the 10 when the N-10 was announced. They're further from the Crawford schools than Galion Upper or Ontario. Galion is a Crawford Country school. Upper was invited back 2 years after being deserted. Ontario is closer to or approx the same distance to the middle of Crawford country than Upper, Mohawk, Cary and SE. fbfan further falsifies and says Ontario shouldn't be in the NCC because they aren't in Crawford Country. Riverdale, Upper, Mohawk, Carey and SE aren't in Crawford Country. Galion IS in Crawford County, why aren't they in the NCC???
The 4 years in the NOL has been MUCH more enjoyable than playing the NCC 6. Playing in the MOAC will be more interesting than playing the NCC 6. Galion and Ontario don't have the same issue the NCC 6 had. They're playing larger schools.
Secondly it's about fbfan comparing Shelby's move to the MOAC to what the NCC 6 did to create a NEW league. There is absolutely no comparison.
Everyone knows the reason the NCC 6 left Galion, Upper and Ontario. Don't be dishonest, tell the truth

The point was, for every time 6+ schools leave a league, there are 100 times when one school leaves a league. No comparison. If I'm a zealot you're an ideologue .
