EC 72 Vermilion 71 final How did that happen with all those suspensions? EC would have won by more without suspensions.

I know Jonah is a starter and one of the best players, as far as the EC players I believe any player that came off the bench during the fight got suspended

While EC was short handed because their bench was gone, they still had a few stud starters who carried an "iron 5" lineup for the game. Vermilion was up 15 at the half and went cold for a stretch and it was all downhill from there. No doubt a tough loss and one they shouldn't have dropped, but it was still on the road against an opponent that would likely match up well with any Lake division team. EC is a .500 team whose losses are to the likes of Holy Name twice (AP Top 10 D2 team), Cleveland Central Catholic, Bay (both in Plain Dealer Top 25 for much of season), Cornerstone Christian (likely D4 state title contender), and Huntington WV Prep (in a tournament featuring a national field). Vermilion goes through scoring droughts that make them vulnerable, but with their style and talent level they'll compete with anyone in the district. Well done video of the game highlights: www.ohiosportsnet.tv/-18-boys-hoops.html

Money, I hope you are correct on the BB situation. The kid and the WHS team need each other I am guessing. CP would make an enormous difference if he was still here. Regarding RW, I was not aware of any inter coaching parents squabbles and I don't want to go there,,I'm strictly looking at the "what if" and I am pretty sure our VB team was State bound if she's playing at WHS instead of DC where she has been to State 3 years in a row at D1,,and she does in fact have a D1 scholarship to Hawaii for her college future plans. Good chance she will be a HS All American next year as a Senior at DC. I don't want to take this message board thread down the path that has been going on for weeks on end. That drama needs to stay on those threads if you guys want to keep discussing it. That's here say not really affecting everyone reading this Bay Division thread. BB isn't coming back and here is why, 1. He was going to be ineligible to play anyhow so he just quit. Even if he wanted to come back, which believe me that ship has done sailed with the coaching staff, he still cannot play because he is ineligible. Those are the facts, run with them and use they however you want to.

Chandler, Sorry about not getting on line with you about our picks but I was out shoveling my drive and I slipped and landed on my knee real hard to where we thought I might have busted it but it turned out all right just couldn't move it for a while and I got one hell of a deep bruise on the cap. I got a lovely deep purple from my shins to my thighs. I am very surprise at the out come of both Vermilion and the Oak Harbor games. I guess when I hurt my knee I messed up my predictions. Let's start all over again with this coming weeks games.

Sure has been quiet lately from the Willard faithful, where they been? At 4-15 maybe some of the "new coach excitement" has worn off since the results are the same. I seem to recall some statements about talent and it being the coach's fault for poor record.

Willard is putrid. Right up there with Huron this year. There can be many reasons a team sees some bad years. Back around 1998 when a coaching change was made the team went from 4 wins to 14 wins. That could be argued that a coach was the issue.

Better next yr & very good 2&3 years from now. Don’t be fooled by random parent posters just because you’re looking to bust on ‘fool flashes fans’.

I was suggesting that maybe a reason for the quiet time is because your "fool flashes fans" have come to understand a single personnel change is not the only thing needed.

Well except moneyball but I don’t think they are serious. At least I hope not. n I believe they have started to build a better foundation. they are very young and i think if the situation with the one player would not have happened they would have been much better this year. they will be better next year and the year after they will be really good. i see numbers spiking over the next couple years. i’m sure thencoaching staff will assess this year and look for opportunities to improve. good seeing kids going out that haven’t played in the past. good things on the hoizon.

port, not to argue with scarlet, but I would agree with you. Most Willard fans thought they would see an immediate improvement while many outside the district limits did not have the optimism or the negative feelings towards a personnel change. This is why I mentioned the change made by the Flashes in 1998.

Willard is putrid. Right up there with Huron this year. Huron has lost a lot of cloe games and competitive ones against good competition. There last 5 games they are 1-5 included in there is 20 point plus win over a .500 St. Mary's team, a 3 point loss to a good Edison team, 2-5 point losses to good Lake division (both D2) teams Norwalk & Sandusky and a 1 point loss to another good D2 team in Clyde. Willard has not competed at that level with those type teams...

When joining the SBC Willard, thought, hopped, surmised they'd be in the River Division. A good place to be, Bay Division won't be.
