Yea, maybe 6'3", saw him in regional semis against OG dunk over both twins at once, then saw him at state track and field meet set the bar 7'.25", almost cleared it, crazy crazy hops.

More like "Call In Show." BTW, our next caller is truecrimson hailing from Willard, Ohio. How are you, and what's on your mind? C'mon maple, everyone knows he doesnt post until 7:00AM or 3:00 PM....gesh, pay attention. Nov 30, 2018 at 5:27am. I love fake news. Didn't make the game on Saturday but was told there was a lot of excitement and the team played like we thought they could. I knew I'd light a fire with my post for some of them, after all that is what this is all about. As I stated in previous post, they would struggle against Upper but next 4-5 games should be wins. Time for a delivery :-)

It builds confidence and helps them gel. They need a few games like this to build momentum. I think they'll play just as well this week against Carey and we continue to gain a head of steam. A wise man once said there is nothing greater than hope and once you have it, sky is the limit. I see where Parrot and Pingston played well, glad they stepped up and played like we know they can. They've earned their starting spots back.

The fact that there are 32 pages on an average program is incredible

In 2 games that team has lost by 73 points to two teams that did not win 15 games combined last season. Don't order the trophies yet. There is a reason Willard wanted to down grade their schedule. I doubt the thought of momentum was a factor in that change. I would suggest we celebrate the win and leave it at that.

I have no desire to mess with your spirit, but man pull back a little and let the coaches and team grow a little before you accept the championship trophy. They just beat a team that is 7-64 since 2015-2016.

Talent-wise, somewhere between Bucyrus and Willard in basketball.
Geographically, western shore of Africa.

Had Bucyrus been 6-65, I may be singing a different tune.

We are talking Bucyrus, owner of ZERO sectional titles EVER. Everrrrrrrrr. Don't take offense when I think it is silly that you put any noteworthiness on beating Bucyrus. I could be a fan of Danbury and know that. Hell, I could be a fan of Bucyrus and know that. Even the Angolese people could understand what I'm conveying once we got a proper translator in the room.

Fun facts about Bucyrus: They have beaten exactly THREE teams with a .500 record or above over the past 5 seasons.
2013-14: Beat 11-11 Upper Sandusky at home by 11, later loses by 16 on the road
2013-14: Beat 17-5 Colonel Crawford by 1 at home, later loses by 29 on the road
2014-15: Beat 14-8 Buckeye Central in OT by 2 at home, later loses by 14 on the road
That's literally it since the beginning of the 2013-14 season. In 90% of the instances that Bucyrus won a game since 2013-14, it usually means the other team is some variation of a dumpster fire that will win 4-5 games on the year. Congrats, we now know that Willard can win more than 4-5 games this year.
Be patient, the better W's will come. If Willard is worthy, they will prove themselves this year beyond anything that Bucyrus can offer.

Had to bring up that cc loss to bucyrus. Ouch. I still think that nite was a friday the 13th or we were in the twilight zone or something. Might be bucyrus’s best win in last 25 years and cc’s worst loss. 😉

They just beat a team that is 7-64 since 2015-2016. Truth. Upper is good and we looked like hell. BCyrus is miserable and we looked great. As long as we keep playing miserable teams we are fine, we need to learn how to beat good to great teams as the season goes along.

There is a definitely a trade off with an easy schedule vs a tough one. Part of me thinks we need to develop our program and get the winning going again by playing schools of similar size, instead of those 40-100% larger. Once and if---we start to win again--need to dial up the strength of schedule appropriately. It's a fine line you tread. You need committed kids,, parents,,, crowd and community support to be a winner as a smaller public school as opposed to Private. The tradition and interest and nice facilities are all there. I think our team in 2018-19 is a work in progress. As we get some early season wins, and kids figure out their roles,,,hopefully we can build off of that going forward.
It's pretty much a given in the realm of sports --people will support a winning team. That goes for HS, College or Pro in almost any major sport. It's pretty tough to rebuild if you're losing continuously because your competition is much larger sized schools . That's a recipe for failure unless you're blessed with a continuous stream of future college level athletes. There was a time that that was the case. Recently ----as in the last 10 years---not so much. As I look at the team and HS program now,,,you've got a few that fit the description of being a future college level athlete,,that being football or basketball athlete.

It seems to be the way of 2018. Can't win? Reduce the strength of schedule to get a false sense of success and make everyone feel better. I'm not saying you are wrong bk, but that is not the recipe followed by many strong programs. If we cannot run a successful race, take an easier path.

I'm not saying you are wrong bk, but that is not the recipe followed by many strong programs. If we cannot run a successful race, take an easier path. If the basketball team were playing the type of schedule the football team played this year I would agree but they are not. There are 5-6 teams on their schedule out of 22 that I can say, cupcake teams. The other 16 are legitimate programs that will challenge us and I like this schedule because it does allow us to play 3/4 of our season against legitimate contending teams and 1/4 against teams that we'll win against. That strength of schedule seems appropriate to me. I agree though and I think the schedule proves it, you need to play tough teams to get better and I've never been in favor of dumbing down to look better and I don't think we are doing it this year in basketball.

I feel as though the tougher the schedule will get you ready for the tourney.I've seen teams with 500 records down at state. Not saying were going to state this year. Those teams downcthete had a brutal schedule. I believe I would rather lose by 10 to really good team than win by 40 to a really bad team. Liked that Joe owned up in the paper to what happened in second quarter of upper game. shows leadership. I think Carey won 20 games last year so being without imo your best player might be closer than you think.

They do return their big kid that is getting some college offers.
