More FAKE NEWS!! Both McMurphy and Herman deny that Herman or his wife ever said anything to him about Courtney or Zach Smith. McMurphy said he has never revealed a source 40 years, but he unequivocally says that Herman or his wife are not his source in this. You are spreading fake news. Herman told the source who told McMurphy. They are playing semantics.

So Herman is telling me he is so close with Courtney he paid her money in 2017 to help her. But he didn't come up with an idea like "hey instead of asking me for more money in 2018, why don't you sell your story to the press instead since you happen to have dirt on my greatest personal rival?" Tom Herman has been a close friend of McMurphy and he admitted to making a $10,000 payment to Courtney for 'humanitarian reasons'. How much more undisclosed money has he given her? I'm not buying his explanation. Something is smelling rather peculiar. How many payments were there? Courtney accomplishes her vow to take down Zach & Urban through her vendetta and Herman rids his greatest recruiting adversary.....sweet. Just a few thoughts..........

McMurphy and Herman both say Herman nor his wife was the source. If either told someone else, then a Herman would still the "source" that told McMurphy.

I can't see this investigating tribunal wrapping things up in the expected 14 days, with all the new disclosures.

Seeing how often McMurphy changes his story, quoting him is ridiculously complicated.

NOW Courtney's mother is saying the text messages McMurphy is saying are her's, is not true. They weren't her text messages. Quoting bighose, "for the love of God", why is Courtney Smith's mother not supporting her daughter, not backing McMurphy? Instead is agreeing with Zach Smith, his mother, Urban and the Powell police.

A 'private' marital mess, that had to be obvious for Ohio State officials to steer clear of. No arrests made, dictates staying out of the matter, quite simple. Let's get our coach back and prepare for the great season of Buckeye football ahead!

Quotes from a Jeff Snook interview with Courtney Smith's mother Monday.
Courtney Smith's mother didn't want to speak publicly about her daughter and Zach Smith's volatile relationship, "But enough is enough. I can't take all of the lies being written about Zach. He lost his job over something that didn't happen".
"The fact is Courtney set him up. She was determined to bring him down."
"Meyer didn't deserve this, he didn't cover up anything up, because there wasn't anything to cover up. This entire thing is about revenge and my daughter being vindictive." "Courtney claimed Ohio State knew, but there were no charges to know about."
"Zach Smith was the one who could have had my daughter arrested. I was with Courtney one day when Zach dropped off the children. She got so mad at Zach that she got in her car and deliberately tried to run him over. Zach had to jump out of the way."
"One time Courtney called the Powell police and told them Zach had a hidden video camera in her house. A detective was sent over who did a clean sweep and found nothing. She found someone to go through it a second time and that person found nothing. She's just paranoid."
Courtney's mother said, "Zach never hit my daughter. It was just the opposite, she hit him often. She would start hitting just to start a fight." "She is out of control when she drinks, we all know that."
"She has been verbally abusive to me and her 84 year old grandmother. Nobody in the family wants anything to do with her anymore and it has noting to do with Zach."

It seems with all these new facts, the only way Urban loses his job is if he lied at Big 10 Media Day and that is interpreted as him being dishonest. Dishonesty is a potential cause for dismissal under Ohio State's policies.
Does anyone have the 9 questions and Urban's responses on Media Day? I can't seem to find all 9 of them via Google.

As far as Urban's statements at the Big Ten Media Day, were they actually out and out lies, but rather addressing the situation and facts as he actually knew and perceived them at the moment? Another typical 'in context' - 'out of context' example, most of us face at some time or other.

McMurphy's twitter account has changed.
He no longer has pictures of Courtney pinned to tweets. The back ground picture is no longer the ill-advised Meyer rally of 200 people. His bio-line, referencing Urban, which said, "Who makes up stories like this?", is gone.
Could it be because of the latest Jeff Snook interview with Courtney's mother? McMuphy's "news' is looking more "fake" with each passing day. Shouldn't McMurphy have tried to interview Coutney's mother first, like Snook did?

It appears the 'story' has finally run it's course. Commentators on ESPNU are finally concluding reluctantly, Urban will most likely retain his coaching job. They got all the sensationalism and mileage milked out of this 'story'.

This is more likely based upon the announcement of his new job with Stadium earlier today as a "College Football Insider".

AH, but if his report was solid instead of slopping, unverified and filled with inaccuracies "Stadium" would have loved it. BTW, his star has fallen considerably from ESPN to "Stadium". It took a salacious story to get his new job.

i think what has occurred and what was reported was an extreme missrepresentation of of the facts. A few people looking to cash in on half truths and doctored up text messages. It's horrible that in this day and age crap like this happens. I do think OSU can do better and Urban can do better than Zach Smith,,,he's made almost all good hires and replacement decisions, I think because Urban isn't perfect and was really busy,, a guy and a situation like Smith falls through the cracks sometimes and his Grandpa Bruce was the reason why. Clearly if Smith was just Joe Schmo and or had he parted ways with Courtney 6-7 years ago he would have been better off. Hoping to get past this soon.

"In this day and age crap like this happens" all the time. My daughter, an OU Journalism major, says in today's 24 hour news cycle there is such a rush to report first, reporters don't do their due diligence or get 2nd and 3rd sources. Someone gives them a rumor and they run with it.
When there's a divorce and you have children, you just can't "part ways 6-7 years ago". There is usually dual custody, the kids usually live with their mother, but the father has them for days or weeks. If Zach would have just walked away 6-7 years ago he would never have seen his children again. Most of the problems since their divorce have occurred when Zach HAD to go to his ex-wife's house to pick the kids up or drop them off. That's when she'd go nuts.

Michelle Herman, a good friend of Courtney Smith, told Jeff Snook the following about Courtney Smith. "She never told me she was being abused. She never told anyone she was being abused. Nobody saw any abuse."
Yet Courtney Smith is calling her mother a liar and vindictive for saying the same thing her best friend said.

I had read more than once that she would do things day after day to try and provoke incidents. Standing in the doorway and making ZS have to physically move her so he could exit and go to practice,,then complain about him putting hands on her,,,,,stuff like that. Once details came out about her mom siding with ZS on some aspects of the story,,for me her whole storyline became jaded and not trustworthy. Adding that I could not see urban and his wife Shelly doing "nothing" if they felt she was being "abused" . They weren't that desperate to keep ZS on board if it were the case.
The sickening part was how so so many media and even a few ex players said "Urban is Gone" before even hearing the other side of the story from him and ZS.

Urban did nothing wrong, why are they dragging this out. This is turning into another Trump/Russia investigation. Urban either passed it up the chain of command or not. This should have been a one hour investigation. Step 1: walk into office Step 2: Ask for documentation from 2015 Step 3: Look through documentation from 2015 to see if Urban passed it up the chain of command Step 4: Conclusion
Instead it looks like they are looking for other "crimes". Just like the Trump/Russia collusion that didn't happen so they are now in year 2 of a phony investigation looking for anything Trump ever did wrong. How long is this Urban investigation going to last until 2024, too? Are they looking to find if Urban ever peed in the woods? It should have been over within the 1st hour.

The university greatly over-reacted on this toxic domestic dispute. They assembled what amounts to a blue-ribbon war crimes tribunal and to add to the overkill, a private investigating firm, staffed with former prosecutors. One would think mass genocide had occurred.
