pirate80, Talk with coach Williams about "The battle of 42". See if the kids can play it up somehow for sports games between the two schools. I'm not sure if this site has a private message feature or not. If it does, send me one and I will elaborate.

Morrow County Sentinel reports 347 yards and 5 touchdowns for Barnett. Knew he had a lot of yards, but he got them so easily I forgot how they were adding up. As for the 5 TDs, I watched the second half from beyond the end zone in front of the concession area and except for the one he ran right at us I had trouble seeing the others that half as two were at the far end of the field. The PA wasn't that easy to hear plus I was talking with my granddaughter and her father and got distracted.

First half each team shot themselves in the foot several times with penalties. If the Barnett kid gets the corner, he has speed to burn. Scored 3 or 4 times tonight, 200 plus yards. Dingtown scored with 1:01 to play in the first half to go up 21-13 and then seemed to lose focus in the 3rd quarter and MG went up 28 to 21. Cardington tied and then went ahead 35-28. MG scored with 3 or 4 minutes to play but a bad snap on the PAT left the final at 35-34 in favor of Cardington. Plaques given to the MVP of each team in the "Battle of 42". Barnett from Mt. Gilead and McCarrell from Cardington.

Harding vs Fairbanks? If the Prexies don't win big they should hand in their gear and end their season.

Would be nice to see Dingtown play for real in November instead of just a regular season game.

Graduated from Edison in 1958. They consolidated with Mount Gilead in 1960 and my two sisters graduated from MG. Two grandsons played football at Cardington and two granddaughters attend now. One is a sophomore cheerleader. I'll be there as a neutral.

Early projections for MOAC:
Red JA Pleasant BV RV NU Harding Galion Fairbanks
Blue Cardington MG Cent Fred High E Knox Northmor Elgin
My early season thoughts. Disagreement with these will suffer the fate of DRAFO.

Two things. The 10th grader took his attitude with him as well. Next, the divisions will get redone next year won't they? Any feel by anyone for schools moving up or down in division?

We used to have a joke about Harding sports. They would have great junior high teams, but by the time they got to high school they were too old to play.

Adding Ontario and Clear Fork will make for a ten team league. I hope for all those teams sake that they don't go back to the one non-league game format that the MOAC used before expanding. That was awful. Fairbanks will be gone after this year and the other day I heard that JA will be gone as well. That would leave it at 8 teams.

From 2003 to 2011 Harding was a member of the Greater Buckeye Conference. It consisted of Findlay, Fremont Ross, Lima Senior, Harding, Napoleon and Sandusky. Napoleon was a 3 and Sandusky a 2. The others were 1s until the last year of the conference when Ross, Senior and Harding dropped to 2. Harding won the league title in 2003. They then started down. 6-4, 5-5, 5-5, 2-8, 1-9, 4-6, 2-8 and then 3-7. Three of those years the 3, Napoleon, won the title. 2004, 7 and shared in 8. I used to say "I am north of 70 and I ain't talking about the Interstate." Now it is west of 75 and it still isn't the Interstate. I'll forgive your implied insult.

Harding Will be dominating the MOAC in the near future. Playing much smaller schools than in the past AND winning. Thus getting more players out and keeping them out. Fewer transferring to Pleasnt since they will be winning league titles and beating Pleasant. Harding will need to get started soon then. Last year was the first year in the MOAC for them. They had a 4 and 3 record. Defeated D6 Fairbanks, D5 North Union, D5 Pleasant and D4 River Valley. They defeated River Valley because some Viking players were stupid out of school. Harding lost to D5 Galion, D4 Jonathan Alder and D3 Buckeye Valley. Prior to joining the MOAC Harding had played River Valley twice. In 2013 they loss at home 41 to 14 and in 2014 they went to Viking land and lost 33 to 7. Dominate the MOAC in the near future? Can't see it happening.

Probably Cardington. A two loss Div 4 Ontario travels to Dingtown. Ontario's two losses have been at home to start the season. 24-6 to a 1-1 Div 3 Lexington and 21-14 to a 2-0 Div 5 Clear Fork. A win for Cardington gets first level points, but will probably result in not many level two Harbins over the rest of the season.

Pleasant returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown and more or less had their way after that. 28 zip after one and 42 zip at the half. JVs and Freshmen got a lot of playing time in the second half. 42 to 7 final.

From 2000 to 2004 Galion was a 3, from 2005 to 2014 they were a 4 and last year they dropped to 5. From 2000 to 2012 Cardington was a 5. In 2013 they dropped to 6. A "golly gee whiz" post on my part, worth little, if anything, in the grand scheme of things.

Box score in the Star showed Cardington QB completed 14 of 16 passes in the game with Worthington Christian. Problem was that 5 of them were to players in the wrong color jersey. That was a misprint then. He threw no interceptions. He did throw for five scores and run for one though. That is what I thought at first also. Even though it was labeled Comp - Att- Int, 9-16-5, but when WC was 17-29-3 and they only scored 13 points, I knew they didn't have 3 TD passes, a conundrum as it were.

I recall a kid over here that was the "second coming". Went off to Arizona State. One year later he was back home and faded into oblivion. Then there was Trevor, went to Edinboro State in PA. Had try outs with at least one NFL team and is doing quite well in the CFL now. Just sayin, but pride goeth before a fall.

Ridgedale will struggle this year, again, with only 23 on the roster. 11 of those are seniors so next year may be even rougher. The Rockets were 0 and 10 last year with 6 shutouts where they were beaten at least 50-0 in each game. But you have to hand it to the boys to keep coming back week after week.

Fairbanks leaves the Red division after this year. Not sure who has the inside track on taking their place. That and the Blue division, Morrow and Knox county teams, leaves to start their own league.
