Medina Buckeye was supposed to be touring the OCC schools to see their facilities. Haven't heard anything else about that.

Dude, Clear Fork would be competitive for the most part, but tough to put them in top 4. Tedrow seemed to play well enough last night, despite the injured wrist. What starter was out?? Madison is peaking at the right time, as is Lex. As I said in another post, CF and Senior will be very interesting! That's if Senior gets by Port Clinton!

Willard, it was good seeing you sitting mid-court in the front row last night. Ontario won the coaching battle last night. They made adjustments that wore the Colts down. The underclassmen for both schools are impressive. JV game= officiating disaster!
Ontario vs Clyde will be interesting. Clear Fork vs Senior will be very interesting!

They could play an OCC-SBC Lake challenge on the conference bye weeks since both leagues would be at 7. Beats playing a bad Cleveland or Columbus team.

As opposed to the 2 sophs and 3 juniors Senior had on the floor for most of the 4th quarter. Rematch at Madison???

Game is cancelled. it will not be rescheduled. To bad since they end play a week before tournament begins they had time to reschedule. The problem was TCC has games on Tuesday and Friday next week and didn't want to play Saturday, then have a short turnaround for tournament game. Hence, the game was cancelled. Senior has 10 days off before Port Clinton. There is a possible scrimmage next week to work on things.

If every team in the district played the same schedule, then I would be in favor of higher seed hosting in sectional, but there are too many other factors that enter into the seeding process. Granted, Vermilion may very well be the top team in the district, but there are small seeds of doubt due to conference play. Same with Clear Fork. If you have to travel during the BEST TIME OF THE YEAR for your team, just do it! The money all goes to the OHSAA anyway!

Senior/TCC was cancelled due to icy conditions in Toledo last night. District matchups will be fun. Clear Fork jumps on Senior. Lexington playing as well as anyone. Can't wait! Is there a rescheduled date? Game is cancelled. it will not be rescheduled.

BTW, the Mansfield Supt changed his vote on Medina Buckeye with the OCC and Buckeye was invited. They are going to the league schools to see their facilities during the next 2 weeks and then they will make a decision whether or not to accept the invite.

Official seeding for the Madison District.
1. Vermilion 2. Senior 3. Lexington 4. Sandusky 5. Clear Fork 6. Norwalk 7. Clyde 8. Shelby 9. Perkins 10. Ontario 11. Bellevue 12. Galion 13. Columbian 14. Port Clinton
Let the games begin. Will someone jump on Vermilion or Senior early? Which way does Lex go? Sandusky pounds Perkins while Shelby nips Norwalk last night. Senior got revenge on Ashland big time and Lex beat Wooster. Clear Fork loses a tough game in OT. This district will be a lot of fun!

Ok, with the ballots all tallied and the seeds to be announced, here is my take on the seeding.
1. Vermilion - Still has the best overall record with 2 close losses to good D1 teams. 2. Senior - No losses vs teams in district. Beat Lex twice. 3. Lexington - Losses to Sr and Clyde, but everyone loses at Clyde. 4. Sandusky - 1st place in SBC - lake should count for something 5. Norwalk - Hottest team in SBC. 6. Clear Fork - On a roll, but skeptics say it's schedule is weak. 7. Clyde - Playing well but need to prove it away from home. 8. Shelby - Yoyo team back on a mini win streak. 9. Perkins - Can play with anyone when hot. 10. Bellevue - Best player back. Will definitely make them better 11. Ontario - Young team with best coach. 12. Galion - Locked in here 13. Columbian - Only because PC is in it. 14. Pt Clinton - Great place to visit! I recommend Rosie's or Clinton House.
On another note, an MRI revealed a torn ACL for Jornell Manns. He is scheduled for surgery Mar 1. Great young man! Speedy recovery.

Some food for thought. Clear Fork beat Senior twice last year with basically the same teams back. Lex beat CF twice. 1-11 about as even as any district I have seen in a long time.

Yes, Senior has a triple header with Wooster tonight. Freshmen start at 430pm. Next home game Saturday. On another note, Burtin is done for the year. Addition by subtraction???

Mansfield and Sandusky play at Sandusky on Feb 13th. Maybe a pre-cursor to district final? I think 11 teams have legitimate shot at district. But...... winner gets #1 Wauseon or Elida (Maybe) in regional.
Looking at the Max Preps strength of schedule rating, it appears that the conferences in the district are ranked:
1. OCC
2. SBC-Lake
3. SBC-Bay
4. MOAC

The info I gave was based on current record by % to date, and in no way reflects my thinking on what the seed rankings should be. Lot of important games between now and Feb 11 to try and settle the dust.

Very entertaining game last night at Pete Henry between Senior and Dublin Jerome if you like fouls. 56 total fouls called, 27 on Senior and 29 on DJ. Senior won in OT 68-66. Triple header with Toledo Scott on Saturday, with the freshmen starting at 1pm. The 1987-88 Malabar Falcon team that was a Final Four team that year will be recognized at halftime of the varsity game. Coach Steve Miller's club was led by All-Ohio Brian Beauford.

Does anyone know what year those 3 officials graduated from the blue and white? I'm kidding but they were not very good for the magnitude of that game. Just my opinion.

Back to basketball, some Madison fans were calling out Stover for out of control behavior and headbutting Ram players. Anyone else see that? Mt Vernon beating Senior at PH was big. Great game to watch and the refs let them play. OCC could end up in a 4 way tie by the end of the season.

With another Olentangy HS (Berlin) opening next year and Delaware looking at one for the future, that area could be 4 Olentangys, 2 Delawares, Big Walnut, and Marysville somewhere down the road.

So it seems that Lexington, in addition to West Holmes voted NO on every vote yesterday as well. Medina Buckeye was the possible 8th member. The expansion ideas were all voted down by WH and Lex. Guess they are waiting for CF to re-consider! Check your sources, Mansfield voted NO on adding the 8th team. Only after a certain supt called another supt who called a principal who told the AD to do so! How's that for the facts? Who said anything about Delaware Hayes? Ashland, Madison, Senior, Lex, Mt. Vernon, Harding, BW, and BV would be fine. CF, Shelby, Ontario, Galion, Pleasant, Upper, RV, Highland would be fine.

Why not revisit the old OHC. Give me good reasons this wouldn't work. Shelby, Ontario, Madison, Ashland, Lexington, Mt Vernon, Harding, and Senior. Small d2 to big d4 in football, small d1 to d2 in basketball. All other sports are the same. Improved gates. More money for other sports. What's wrong with this scenario? What adjustments could be made?
