The most popular is not the same as the fastest growing.

I think the Streaks can win this regional and make it to Columbus. One at a time but I believe they are the only ones that can stop themselves.

Bellevue is an older city getting smaller. Many of the same families 2nd and 3rd generations, entrenched in their ideas. The middle sized and smaller public schools with successful soccer programs are growing cities, growing school districts, with new upper middle class families moving into the district. Families that at least have an interest in their young children having a chance to play soccer, the fastest growing sport in the country, played around the world. Football is played in the USA and a much lesser degree in Canada. JMO....not a big soccer fan, just a realist. Fastest growing sport in USA? Maybe 5-10 years ago. Lacrosse, Rugby and Pickleball are well ahead of soccer.

so lets talk stupidness here, now you're going to add two more teams to the small division which might be good for football, but it overcrowds the other sports? yes? no? and can danbury compete in football ? i say no Over crowd? These schools all play each other anyways...Similar size, similar communities. Now they get a home and home.

Port Clinton is now the school on the fringe of the Bay/Lake with the most recent enrollment numbers. Lakota is interesting. Growing enrollment and possibility of St Wendy closes their downs in the future could really separate them from the other River schools, in terms of enrollment.
Sounds like most multi-division conferences only look at changing divisions every four years and it's usually an average of counts. That makes more sense and eliminates a big or small class having a "big" impact on the entire conference.

From initial indications, Danbury is interested in coming with Gibsonburg to the SBC. Makes sense. We shall see how this plays out.

Shelby will be the favorite in the SBC - any division. They are loaded, led by a Power 5 QB and a potential DI RB. Shorty Brooks is undersized but he can play. When was the last time a team had a legit DI QB and potential DI RB in the same back field? Not sure any SBC teams have one of these caliber of players, let alone two.

Shelby is easily the favorite in this division and the Lake too, for that matter.

Not a bad thought. Bay schools wouldn't be warm to the idea but it could work out. Not sure if River schools would support it because they'd have to vote on the change. It doesn't affect them; however, they were against it previously. They didn't want to be required to play crossovers. Lake schools certainly would like it.

Many changes still coming. Some schools are still being reported too high. Shelby for sure. Possibly Clyde. These numbers are much closer than the first run though.
Perkins has dropped quite a bit. After this go around with their district, will be interesting to see the next count (2019). They need to stop the bleeding.

SportsNut is 100% accurate about Shelby and their options. They need a partner to make the MOAC work.
The goal of the SBC is to get to 8-8-8 for football. That's no secret. Gibsonburg makes it 6-6-7 or 6-7-6. Firelands and Keystone aren't going anywhere, especially since they are Lorain County/NE District schools. Vermilion is an Erie County school so the switch to the NW District made more sense.
The schools on the fringes are going to be pushed by the addition of any schools that are not in their areas. I really think the best option to get to 24 has always been 6-6-6-6 with a southern division. Shelby - Ontario - Lex - Madison - Clear Fork could have all been a good start.

Gibsonburg appears to be a lock to join. Guessing it would have to be for 2018-19 with scheduling already being completed for next year, at least in football. The ripple effect should be exciting to watch unfold (if any schools bump "up" to the Bay, possibilities of Hopewell, Danbury, etc.)...

Hearing Gibsonburg is interested in the SBC and possibly Hopewell too. Wondering how that turns out and if Danbury does the same. Has Danbury ever expressed interest that you know of, or were you just mentioning them as a possibility? Danbury's closest TAAC league member is Gibsonburg. It makes so much sense for them to join G-Burg in the SBC, assuming the interest is mutual. I do realize it's Danbury though and from what I understand, they are rarely logical.

Why doesn't the MODS do something about these little brats on here and their lying. We don't need their mouths on here and always insulting the wise ones on here. They do not even know on how to structure a sentence on here properly or even know how to spell. I was always told a child should be seen but not heard. More importantly, why do grown men continue to engage teenage trolls?

I think there is a lot to be proud of in Shelby. I'm just saying they have elite talent at two offensive positions, if not more and not including those two's impact defensively. In addition, some of their other players are the best at their positions in the league. I would just expect that kind of talent to win a league title and go further than two weak playoff wins. Next year has the makings for something special which would make my post moot. As for this week, I think there was a lot of talk leading up to the game about "being happy" and "being proud" win or lose. Writing appeared on the wall before the game kicked off. Despite that mindset and their mental lapses, they still had a great chance to win.
I would like nothing more than for the Whippets to beat the heck out of the SBC Bay Division in 2017. I think it happens and then we will see how the playoff draw matches up. New divisions possible for many schools next year. New enrollment numbers plus competitive balance begins.

Shelby easily walks away with the Bay division SBC title next year. Return nearly everyone, including a legitimate DI (bigger than MAC schools) QB and a RB that is every bit as good as Emerson Lowe. That's not to mention their receivers who return. No one touches them in the Bay division.

How much did the two suspended players hurt the Whippets? Would have been interesting to see how deep they could have gone with less mental mistakes this season (turnovers, penalties, dropped passes). One more crack for this class to live up to the hype. This year was a definite big step for them but still no league title and only one playoff appearance. Both are expected next year, at minimum.

They are not underestimating themselves. That's for sure. They have a lot to be confident about. They have rolled and are continuing to get better. If that continues this week, a match up vs Central Catholic would be fun.

In all seriousness, what makes PC confident things will be much different than last year? Are either teams better than their teams last year? Both running backs are back, correct? Obviously both are studs.
