I pray for our kids at Fremont. Our schedule from start to finish is brutal every yeae.we don't have easy crossover games. I think Fremont got hosed. Fremont is at 461, Clyde is 320, Norwalk 338, Sandusky 317 how is this any different than playing divisional playoffs? Division 2 largest is 612 smallest 390... differential 222. Fremont differential to Clyde 141, Norwalk 123, Sandusky 144. Now I'm almost positive Margaretta plays Norwalk next two years because of cross overs, so Margaretta is 133 , 205 smaller than Norwalk. Hmmmm oh and Edison is 208 compared to smcc at 61 ------------------------------------------------------------------ If SBC schools want to play Fremont, they are free to. Sandusky is the only one that does. Margaretta vs Norwalk, Edison vs SMCC, etc. are all non-divisional games that are optional. Being required to play Fremont in your division is where the issue is. Enrollment is A1A but A1AB, and semi-related, is the fact WHEN Fremont eventually gets the right leadership in place, they will be a much different team then they have been recently. Potential coupled with being the biggest school is a double whammy that nobody is down with. Unanimous. Enough said. They've spoken and they've voted. The NLL is Fremont's only hope of reprieve from the TRAC.

Football will be 6-6-8. Confirmed.
Fremont applied and presented to SBC last month. Conference voted unanimously to not grant them admission. Enrollment disparity is A1A concern. Nice to see the loyalty in the conference as a couple could have easily justified voting "yes". Bodes well for long-term health of the conference IMO.

Hiring a coach because of his son's ability (Roger Jury) would certainly align with the way Willard does things.

The lowest point in the once storied history of Willard basketball. SC is preferred over Willard as the destination for the leading candidate for head coach. Does this mean that a player's father with no coaching experience will be the next head coach? Hearing a 4-win Riverdale or Ridgedale coach is the leading candidate now.

525 in K-8? That's about 60 kids/class. 30 boys/girls each (approx). Would have thought they'd be bigger. Good size for BVC. Similar to Hopewell.

Boy, Findlay St Mike's would make for an interesting addition to the area. Hard to believe there isn't a catholic HS in Findlay but understand the hold off because of St Wendy. That move would make a lot of sense and cents.
How many students do you think they would have, once established? What league options would be available?

Guarantee the hire will not be anyone they interviewed yet. Keep your ears open and don't be shocked when it's a guy from ADs old district. Garfield Heights? Highly unlikely to take a job in rural NW Ohio without serious baggage.

Sounds like there is a lot of excitement in Margaretta for Jerry Rutherford from Eastwood. Hung it up after this past season. Son is now the coach at Eastwood. Not sure of the details of his departure and sudden interest in Margaretta but comes with a successful past and credibility to get the Bears back on track. www.bcsn.tv/news_article/show/761070"Jerry Rutherford had a 227-140 record at Eastwood, with 10 conference championships, nine runner-up finishes, and 10 state playoff appearances. The deepest postseason run came in 2007, when the Eagles (11-2) reached the Division IV regional finals. From 2001-16, the Eagles were 131-46 overall, and won eight conference titles."

Does an athlete that moves into a District after 7th grade or 9th grade count in CB? Now that there is CB does an Open Enrollment athlete after the start of 9th grade still have to sit out half of the season of sports played at the prior District? If the student is on a varsity roster with CB and has one parent who lives in the district then no, they do not "add on" to the enrollment count. ohsaa.org/Portals/0/SchoolResources/CompetitiveBalance/CompetitiveBalance101.pdf

There obviously was an error with Tiffin being +88. All student-athletes are counted as 0, 1 or 2. That would be at least 44 open enrolled students that started attending TC in 9th grade or later (they are +2). No way that's the case. Someone made an error that doesn't appear to be changed. Unfortunate.
As for the CB - it by no means is impacting the public schools like the privates. Simply look at the CB add on number column. Not even close.

Heard Keith Deibler was interested... Incoming frosh or to-be junior from WR? If the latter, could be fourth school in five years. What were the other two school districts other than WR and Norwalk? Vermilion and Edison

Just read Delphos St John's CB is a whopping 4. Pretty sure that proves my point on that debate That just means their football student-athletes have been attending their feeder school(s) since 7th grade.

www.ohsaa.org/Sports-Tournaments/Football/Football-2017Not much for the area, except Tiffin moves to DII as a result of an 88 add-on to their enrollment. Seems VERY high. Huron and Willard back to DV. Think everyone else in the area stayed in the same division. Edison was two boys away from DIV.

Any others out there looking to make the move too? The goal is 8-8-8 for football. Should make for some interesting discussion for those that will eventually be bumped, unless there are larger schools that fit. Fremont would not be one of them.

Fremont wants out of TRAC like something mad. Not sure they are going to find a home unless the NLL comes calling. SBC isn't having it.
