Pitchers and Catchers have reported.
Also, RIP to Terry Francona's father "Tito" Francona who passed away Tuesday night at the age of 84, and was a member of the Indians 100 greatest players team unveiled in 2001.

In 1959 when the tribe finished second to the White Sox Tito Francona hit a three run homer in the bottom of the ninth to beat the Yankees. I was a fan from then on.

The Tribe has signed Mike Napoli to a minor league deal, though it sounds unlikely that he'll make the roster

Being "showcased" for other teams supposedly....one thing Tribe doesn't need is another DH/1B

I'm more concerned with some of the arms that they lost out of the bullpen to free agency.

Every year it seems the tribe gets out to a very s-l-o-w start. This year the hitting is pretty bad especially after watching the extra inning loss to the Angels today.

They’ve played 6 games of 162. Relax

Offensively they should be fine. What worries me is the bullpen. Allen and Miller are rock solid but they’re going to really miss Bryan Shaw. I am not a fan of McAllister, Otero, Goody in the middle.

Every hitter on the roster is your "awful". They haven't had more than 7 hits in any of their first 9 games of the season. When it was at 7 games the last time that happened was in 1921. It could be an all time record at 9. No one is much above the Mendoza Line. With Chiss, who you also have a disdain for, on the DL. Naquin who IS truly "awful", is one of 3 with an average at .214, best on the team.
This is the way it is EVERY year under Francona. He babies his starters during spring training, which has a country club atmosphere.

Those damn Indians beat my Tigers again tonight 2-0. Seems like both teams could not hit at all tonight. Is it this blessed COLD weather causing the hitters not to get ahold of a good hit to send it out of here or what? I don't think it's because of good pitching this year at all. Pitchers are usually behind the hitting in the beginning, not the opposite. What's the thought on this from everybody. And please don't say it's because my Tigers stink as always. I admit the Tigers has not have a good pitching staff in along time but this year the hitting stinks to. We need new top management, some one who knows about baseball and what players should be playing and maybe have some of these old players that seem to be beyond their years as a player but would be good at coaching move up into those positions and teaching younger ones the in's and out's of the game.

Does bad defensive have a negative affect on a player in a fantasy league?

Position matters especially when there are tons of 3B who put up better numbers than Chis offensively and you can only start one 3B, but there are only a few RF who put up better numbers than Chis and we start 4 OF.
Chis was having a monster year last year til he got hurt.

Since 2016 when the Indians get their starters 4 runs they're record is 135-14. I counted at least 19 times in 2016 alone where they lost with at least 4 runs scored. I know you like to make up stuff so I figured I'd fact check...
