That was quite a series. Gave up a lot of runs all 4 days but at least managed to outscore them the last 2

Incredible! After the disastrous 8th, down 8-3 decided I had other things to do, game over. Wrong! My jaw dropped when I decided to check the final, thinking it would be an 8-3 final score. If the pitching gets their act in gear, this is another exciting team that never gives up.

Last year almost everything Mickey Callaway (sp) tried as the tribe pitching coach turned to gold. This year, Carl Willis, almost everything he tries has no effect, and the starters especially turn to pitching batting practice. Has he lost his effect or no one listens to him??

Last year's Indian's pitching didn't happen over night, it was the culmination of several years of coaching by Callaway. Indians pitching improved yearly the 4 years under Callaway. Before that he was the pitching coach in the Indians farm for 2 years, a championship team and a runner up. Coaching some of the same pitchers. Willis isn't in the same league, he's just an old buddy of Francona. Except for Kluber, who's his own coach, no other pitcher is pitching at the same level they did for Callaway last year.

Torch......Great story on Ramirez Not ready to make a final judgement on Willis, quite yet. Let our pitchers get settled into the warm days of summer and see if they get into a rhythm of consistency.

Took in the game last night, my first of the year. Kluber didn't quite have his best stuff, but still managed to go 7 innings with only 1 run allowed on 7 hits. The bats were pretty lively, but a lot of at 'em balls and hits robbed by the shift limited the production to 3 runs, which was enough. Late in the game the midges came out in force and it almost looked like it was snowing if you looked up, though I didn't get bothered by them much myself.

The problem with the bullpen isn't anyone's fault, it is what it is. We lose Smith and Shaw and Miller has been hurt. He has also super-outperformed the last 2-4 years and was due to have "one of those years". Mickey Callaway, for comparison's sake, hasn't exactly knocked the ball out of the park with the Met's pitching staff.
We had some good dudes, now they are gone or hurt. Or like Allen, maybe overexposed after years of success. We need to make a deal or suffer the consequences. I don't see a lot of internal help available.

Bullpens are the most volatile position group in all of baseball. It was bound to swing the wrong way eventually.

Smith and Shaw are having terrible years without Callaway. Not related, but so are Santana and Bruce. All good decisions by the front office not to pay big money for all 4 of them. As I said, it was a process of 6 years working with Indian's pitchers to get the staff they had last year. A manager has a lot less to do with the performance of a pitching staff than the pitching coach.

Tribe doesn't really need that much hitting, but ABSOLUTELY needs much better relief pitching. If any trades are to be made, who would want Otero, Goody, McCallister? bighose wanted a right handed bad, he didn't realize they had signed Cabrera, a switch hitter. Better than a right handed bast. This didn’t age very well did it?

Aged like fine wine. The point was you were not aware of the signing. One must be well read to keep from making such gaffs.

Time to push the "panic button?" Although Francona would never admit to this. Tribe takes one step forward and then two steps back. Hitting in clutch is awful and bullpen continues to blow up.

Hopefully Cookie is ok. Can’t afford to lose him with that crappy bullpen. For some reason the Twins have their number this year. Rosario and Dozier have been killing them. To answer your question though; there is still 93 games left in the season.

Says the most ignorant person in the world. AGAIN, young people DO NOT chug down fine wine for an alcohol buzz. You can buy 2 twelve packs of beer for about the minimum price of one 750 ml bottle of a fine wine.

Also if a “moderator” can answer this question for me. Why is this person allowed to call me ignorant time after time?
