Mohawk @ Upper Sandusky Saturday evening. Effectively this will be the N10 championship game, with Upper trying to tie for it with a win, and Mohawk going for an outright championship with a season sweep of Upper. Who wins?
I'll go with Upper at home.

Purefan, as per most of your past post in regards to Upper - you are not an Upper fan. I was at the game. Upper started out fast 8-0 then Carey regrouped and played well thus the 20-20 end of 1st quarter score. Thus, Carey did show up! Upper just kept up their relentless D pressure for the next 3 quarters and therefore the blowout. Also as a parent of an Upper player said to me after the game. Unlike Uppers games vs Cc #1/2, Carey #1 & Mohawk #1 Upper couldn’t make any shots. Vs Carey this time along with their solid D... they made shots. If Upper plays the same D and makes shots vs Mohawk - they win by 10-15.

What it will boil down to is if Upper can figure out finally how to beat Mohawks zone. And if they can control Hayman. Do those things and Upper could win. However Mohawk is playing much better as well and I think I have to give the nod to them. Either way I expect a packed gymnasium and a fun atmosphere for high school sports tomorrow night!😎😎

Mohawk only won by 1 point. If Upper has struggled all year getting the ball in the basket. If Upper has a shooting % in the high 40s or low 50s for the game they win by 10-15. Regardless of Hayman or their zone.

I’ll fix my post for ya though. After the 1st qtr carey carey played like a team that checked out. Upper played well but carey was the opposite of that. Carey has been struggling recently hence the loss to your royals. I hope carey doesn’t regain there form monday nite when they face CC.

Same could be said for Mohawk about shooting %.

Same could be said for Mohawk about shooting %. Both really good points. Some key matchups tonight. Holly kid from Upper against the Klopp kid from Mohawk. Who guards Hayman from Upper and can slowdown his dribble penetration? He does a good job of knowing how to score at the rim and get through defenders. Can McCreary get going and have a 10 plus assist night or will he be limited because of how much Mohawk packs in the 2-3 zone? Who shows up for Upper besides Vent tonight to score? Does the sophomore shooting guard Tusing have a good night shooting? Upper was ignoring him the first game and was knocking down shots until he sprained his ankle. Like I said. This is going to be a fun game to watch tonight.

Congrats to Mohawk on taking the N10 championship tonight. Ugly game from all fronts but the Warriors found a way to win. Upper put a nice effort forward but shot really bad from the free throw line and turned the ball over way to much. On a side note how do you run out of 50/50 tickets for a huge game like this. Seriously you dont have a couple of extra rolls. And I understand that this was the last home game but stock up a concession stand with a gym full of people.

Congrats to Mohawk on the Championship! Well deserved. Found a way to pull it out the victory. Mohawk's players know their roles very well. Upper never got in a flow offensively. Still struggling against a 2-3 zone. Looked great against Carey when the ball was being shared. Didn't seem to be the case tonight.

Colonel Crawford 56, Carey 45.
CC has now avenged their 3 early season losses to Upper, Mohawk, and Carey.

Congrats to Mohawk on the Championship! ... Mohawk's first conference title in basketball since 2006-07 when ... Coach Paul Dunn played! Via the < Tiffin AT>: " We won in 2007, my senior year, but it’s the first time we’ve won it outright since 1963,"Mohawk coach Paul Dunn said after his club improved to 19-1 overall and 14-1 in the conference. " I was talking to the officials and I said, 'I'm sorry if I’m extra passionate, but it’s been about 56 years since we’ve won one of these ourselves. I’m so proud of these kids. We talked about this on Thursday. With all the work we’ve put into this, we didn’t want to share this with anybody." Upper Sandusky < DCU's hiring article> of Dunn is amazing to think about this program before his arrival: " However during recent times, the Warriors basketball program has fallen on hard times, winning just 27 games in the last six seasons, and recording its last winning season in the 2008-09 campaign. The Warriors struggled to a 5-18 record this past winter." The previous coach went 11-58 in his 3 seasons. In Dunn's 3 seasons:
2016-17: 10-15. Sectional title. Began season 3-12 before 7-3 finish. 2017-18: 19-7. District title. Began season 5-4 before 14-3 finish. 2018-19: 19-1. Conference title. The 3-year turnaround of this program has been an amazing accomplishment for Dunn & his staff.

Congrats to Mohawk and coach Dunn for winning the n-10 title. They have been the most consistent team from beginning of season to end. Coach Dunn is a 1st class person as well as a good coach that has gotten his players to buy in to his system. The senior class at mohawk is a special group that doesn’t come around very often anymore. Mohawk will feel the loss of this group next year but with coach Dunn at the helm will be a force to reckon with in years to come in the n-10. Congrats again, you earned it!!

As the season winds down and tournament draws near looking at the league overall it's been a good year. With possibilities for three teams to make decent play off runs if they play to their potential. Heck even Ridgedale has an opportunity to actually contend for a sectional title!! Which team shows up and which team will not. This time of year is better than Christmas to this old ballers mind. Bring on March and being on the tournament!!😎😎

And then there was two. I think CC and Upper both are capable of winning their District Championship games, but it won't be easy for either.
My prediction is: CC escapes and moves on in a tight game. Willard plays great defense and sends Upper home for the season.
