Mike Clevinger out for sometime for surgery. And so it begins...... Not surprising. The top end on his fast ball was about 4MPH higher than it was the year before and his slider became nasty.

AND SLIDER. You have watched his pitching motion and how he gets his power, right? ALL power pitchers get it from the same part of their bodies. Look at what he does with his legs and what it does to his knee.

it's the first day of spring training boss, no pitcher is letting it go right off the bat, that's why every year noobs panic because their starting pitchers show up throwing 85-88

Can't wait to see the games against the Astros. Indians players have been some of the biggest critics.

Mercado to have MRI on his wrist. It just keeps getting better. Over/under injury competition between Indians & CBJ, anyone?

It's sounding more like this season isn't going to happen. Should the Indians try to move Lindor now, or would this apply pressure on him to make a deal the Indians?

No Spring(early summer) Training at all? Players should just be ready by 7/1? Key world "possible". Not easy for athletes to push themselves to ready for something "possible".

It states June 10th to report.

There won't be a spring training in Arizona or Cleveland on June 10th. As of today their Governors won't allow it. Less than 3 weeks of Spring Training?? IMPOSSIBLE! Every pitcher on every team will blow out their arms. OR baseball will be a joke, with 25 pitchers on a roster, none pitching more than 2 innings for a month.
What Major League team in their right mind would play a season without a AAA team? The Indians? The Clippers aren't going to field a team this year.

If the season happens they are going to have expanded rosters due to not having a minor league system.

If the season happens they are going to have expanded rosters due to not having a minor league system. Most certainly the only question is by how many? An how do you keep the rest of the guys on the 40-man ready to go to cover any injuries? They probably have a plan but we will see. I can deal with a July 4th Opening Day but it does sound optimistic at this point. I was listening to one of the Journalists who covered the UFC Card this weekend and the things they had to go through because of covid fears makes the things MLB and NFL and NBA would have to go through seem insurmountable due to the sheer number of crucial people involved in the production, even without fans.

www.fangraphs.com/blogs/covid-19-roundup-mlbs-plans-begin-to-take-shape/"Major League Baseball owners and commissioner Rob Manfred will convene over a conference call Monday to approve plans for the league’s return, according to a report by Ken Rosenthal at The Athletic. If approved, a proposal will be passed on to the players’ union on Tuesday." From above article.

I can't imagine players are going to be too excited about playing the Yankees or Mets.

Most likely they will be playing at their spring training facilities in Arizona and Fla. It makes no financial sense to open stadiums and do all of that traveling when no fans can come to the game anyway.

60 game season starting a month from now.
40 games in the division (4x10) 20 games against the NL Central (5x4) Edit: make that 1x6 (Reds), 2x4, 2x3 for the interleague

Bieber just broke the franchise record for opening day strikeouts. Previous record was 12 by Gary Bell, and Shane now has 14 tonight.

Bieber just broke the franchise record for opening day strikeouts. Previous record was 12 by Gary Bell, and Shane now has 14 tonight. Only one pitcher in major league history has had more. Of course it's easier to do when the first game is in July instead of the cold and snow of the end of March.

And tonight that stupid rule putting a runner on second base to start the inning in extras came back and bit the Tribe in the butt.

Uh....the Tribe had the bases loaded with 1 out in the 9th and didn't score.

I know it was just 3 games and against the Royals, but I don't think there's a team with 3 better starters than the Tribe has.
