How's everyone holding up with all the chaos? working from home, but I have to let 150 people know they're laid off until further notice starting tomorrow. mostly pt/seasonal but still not a great feeling. we had just started getting the ballpark ready so this is an extra kick to the nuts, especially for those who had just been hired. April is a complete washout, we've wiped May off the books, too. not sure if out of precaution or if they already know we won't play until June. |

well, since everyone has been called or laid off (dnc, aramark, levy/compass managers) I can let you guys know we probably won't see baseball at the milb or mlb levels until June. at least that's what we're planning for...if we happen to play earlier then yee-haw, later might mean a total postponement of the 2020 season. at least at the milb level, mlb might still play a short season if they can start in July.

royals, red sox, phillies, pirates, rockies, astros, blue jays to name a few. last I heard they had 10 or 12 big league parks but I can't find a full 2020 list. |

not sure about aramark, but DelawareNorth was pretty terrible when I worked there. also not sure about aramark, but DNC laid off their entire workforce, salaried managers included. but then again DNC is a a private, family owned company (owned by billionaires...who own the Bills and Celtics) while aramark and sodexo are publicly traded.
I got lucky...for most of Compass we got word of slight salary reduction if this goes through May. if we can't play ball until July I'll probably get laid off/furloughed, but only until we get the go ahead to open.

agreed. but in some good news, there are a couple clinical trials showing positive antiviral results. Gilead will have stage 3 results possibly by the end of May. their just concluded stage 2 trial showed very promising results, where most patients were discharged in less than a week...most were severe cases and only 2 people did not recover and passed away.
I know it isn't a vaccine, but if we have effective treatments that goes a long way to getting us back to normal...kind of like oh, you have covid? eat this and you'll be fine. or at least that's what I'm most hopeful for in the short term.

What's up with that? I'm guessing it got pushed back to a date that was figured at the time to be as good as indefinitely, but now we've actually caught up to it?

We arbitrarily picked a date when everything got shut down. I just rescheduled it out another 3 weeks. |

That is insane man! was talking with a friend who works in the clippers front office yesterday. told me they're going around shutting everything off, "wrapping it all up until next year." asked if I had heard anything before saying "maybe I wasn't supposed to tell you." |
