I would guess at this point it would be a tough job to fill. If I remember correctly when he was hired, it was down to 2 coached not named him that both backed out. It was a convenient hire because he is already employed by the district.
Galion’s basketball programs will never amount to anything until they get some kind of feeder program developed. As it is now, the good players just defect elsewhere like the Valentine kid.

In the last 20 years the school has had 8 different coaches and only 3 winning seasons. Coaches can make players better but players win games. It can be argued that Galion or Galion families have not produced enough players to see success.

Galion finished the season 0-23 on a program worst 34 game losing streak. The second winless season, first since 1988/89. Their average scoring margin was -25.04, worst in school history (2nd is 20.05, 1941/42). They lost 6 games by at least 40 pts and 2 by 50+. Gossom is now 2-44 at Galion, 2-86 overall coaching Boys (Lucas and Galion), and 5-127 coaching Boys and Girls (3-41 at Crestline). He has coached 4 Boys seasons and was winless in 3 of them. He has the 2 worst scoring margins at Lucas and now has the worst scoring margin at Galion. Last I heard there has been no decision on his future at Galion. Many want him out, but I heard the AD does not want to hire another coach after having to hire volleyball and track coaches. Yikes

Could be like 3-4 seasons in a row losing record. Just curious.

His direct supervisor who evaluates him is Snively’s assistant coach Bob Smith (who is now the AD). Above Bob is Steve Ringer as HS principal. Those three guys are best buds. Snives isn’t going anywhere.

Also, in the 2 JV and Freshman games I saw, they had a lot of good shooters. Even though they were lacking any size. That isn't Snively's fault, you can't coach height. And would be an issue regardless of what league Pleasant played in. I'd take him as Ontario's coach

Didn’t know all the details about administrative set up and their relationship with coach. Hope all works well together.

Since Pugh walked away from Findlay and Lantz announced he was leaving Rio Grande, has anyone heard where either of them are headed?

Somewhere where they're guaranteed to start
