Galion returns 4 starters but graduate 50.3% of their scoring from last season (3-20). Their leading returning scorer averaged 7.3 ppg last season (Mcmullen). I would be surprised if Galion won a conference game this season but I think they should be able to get some OOC wins.
Scrimmages 11/11 Lexington 11/14 @ Bellevue 11/17 @ Ridgedale 11/19 @ Hopewell-Loudon
Regular Season 12/2 Upper Sandusky 12/4 @ River Valley 12/10 Marion Harding 12/12 Clear Fork 12/15 @ Lucas 12/18 Shelby 12/22 Ontario 12/29 @ Northmor 1/6 Seneca East 1/9 Pleasant 1/12 @ Mount Gilead 1/15 River Valley 1/21 @ Marion Harding 1/23 @ Clear Fork 1/29 @ Shelby 2/2 Madison 2/6 St. Peter's 2/9 @ Bucyrus 2/12 @ Pleasant 2/16 @ Buckeye Central 2/19 Crestline 2/20 @ Ontario
I'm guessing that Shelby is the favorite to win the conference followed by Ontario and the River Valley.
Thoughts??

I think you are right for Galion, but I think Ontario will be odds on favorite to win. Ontario does return almost everyone back from last year and Shelby lost some from last year but both will battle it out for the championship

Shelby should be the favorite but Ontario will probably win. Ontario lost Coburn and Namenyi but both can be replaced. Shelby's loss of Gossom, Devitio, Lewis and Lewis. Both key players returning as Shelby returns Pugh and Lantz and Ontario returns Shaver.

Ontario will also have Upchurch and Kurtz and will probably have the deepest bench in the conference. It will definitely come down to coaching and also how the support players do to help out the two star players for each team

Last year Ontario went 8 deep and lost 3 of them with only 2 making an impact. Shelby went 9 deep and I believe lost 4 of them to graduation with again only 2 making a consistent impact. The stars should be Pugh and Shaver with Lantz right in the mix.

Only ONE Ontario player that graduated "made an impact".
Four of Ontario's starters played football this year, unusual for Ontario basketball
The first Shelby/Ontario game is scheduled for Friday 12/4 at Shelby. Depending if Shelby's football team keeps winning, will it be played 12/4, if not what date will it be rescheduled for?
ALSO, last I heard Ontario will be missing a returning starter. VERY surprised Dude doesn't know or didn't mention.

Big hit to the warriors. RV has high hopes coming into the season. With them getting a new transfer. Still question their team value though too many guys seem to be about me instead of team success.

I was told as usual he went to California this summer to see his mother, but did not return this time. Once again Dude is not accurate, 3rd school in 4 years. 8th grade Northmor, 9th and 10th Ontario, 11th where ever.

The Upchurch kid ran cross country at Northmor his freshman year.

The kid began high school as a Knight and then transferred after fall sports and played winter sports at his new school and now is looking to play sports for his 3rd high school in the same number of years.

Off to a good start! Way to get along everyone! Who cares about the semantics? It doesn't matter even a little bit other than to two people who like to irritate each other lol. What does matter is that this would be a hit for Ontario. I'm not super knowledgeable on the area since I moved a few years back, but based on what I see online from the hype machines, it looks like Shelby has some studs (including potential freshman) and should be in good shape for the foreseeable future.

Please explain how someone can be a "potential freshman"? Shelby has Pugh and Lantz returning for their senior years and should be very good with a deep roster of players to select from. they may have a soph guard that could fill a starting spot left open from graduation.

A freshman who might have the potential to play varsity this year. Poor phrasing by me.
Granted, I'm now in Central Ohio and don't have my pulse on the area, so I just heard that from the 270 Hoops analysis of one of their events. Who knows how accurate their prediction might be. Shelby seems to have had several players take the trip down 71 for their events in the past, which is how it caught my attention (they loved Pugh since he was a freshman).

Who will be permitted to watch (in person) in the gyms this year? Does anyone know the guidelines yet?

I would assume the same as football, What was it 15% of capacity? Tickets going to families of players, coaches and cheerleaders. Will the 15% include pep bands and their parents like it was with marching bands in football.

At this time there has been no change to the capacity limits that were set for the fall sports venues. There have been a few local schools to request a variance and I know of at least one that was granted to 25%.

I would be surprised if many variances are being granted at this time. They would have been better off to have applied for it during volleyball season.

Not sure what sophomore guard you are referring to. I am thinking they will end up starting three seniors and a couple of juniors. Of course the FB players are just getting into practice this week so it’s hard saying what may happen.

I was just throwing it out there they had a solid freshman on the jv team handling the ball last year. No information if he is ready or not but he was advanced last year for his age.

Yes he was solid played some JV mins I believe also. But Shelby had some very good sophomores who played some varsity mins at the end of the year. Shepherd had a nice football season along with hill. Roberts was the very very good JV good who could really shoot it. I’d say he will be that guard who steps into the varsity spot. From what I seen they also have a 6’5” freshman who made a nice name For him self this fall in some Columbus showcase stuff

Galion had a player test positive and I believe started their quarantine on Thursday. I'm not sure if they played in that Lexington scrimmage on the 11/11. It appears that they will resume practice after Thanksgiving.
