On to Week 6 already and the Harding Presidents come to town. Harding beat North Union last week 35-0 and the Tigers lost 43-16 to Jobathan Alder. Galion and Marion Harding have quite a bit of history playing each other as they were members of the old North Central Ohio League in the 1920's and 30's. The all time series has Harding with 26 wins, Galion with 24 wins and one tie. Thoughts on this one...

I think we should have a "who's healthy enough to play qb at Galion" pool every week. I'm pretty sure the guy who started the last 2 games is out with a head injury.

i was going to ask i heard Galion had alot of injurys they running the spread still or something else with all the qb's out? QB Runs, Sweeps, draws & screens, not an overly complicated offense. Pretty simplified without the starter. Defensively, alder was able to pretty much run the ball wherever they wanted inside and out. Harding speedy backs should be able to break off some long runs based on what I saw last Friday. They are definitely not the team they were last year.

I figured if we can at least get to the 35 yard line of Harding, we can kick a field goal. LOL
...I won't even be at this game, so please everyone let me know what happens, it's freakin' Parent's night too.(I'll be down in Louisiana.)

Interesting to hear tj's name called for harding. He played galion youth football with some of our boys in 4th grade.

i know that he wasnt on the gyf 5th or 6th grade teams with our juniors.
40-12 harding. 2 or 3 picks thrown by #2 but clearly we're a more confident and competitive team with him in. Our receivers dropped alot of passes in the first half but poor tackling was our biggest issue. And the team speed of harding.

If you'd have told me we would have been tied at half I'd have taken it. But boy that 2nd half was just brutal.

I believe you. I don't know how he ended up in the older class though. I just know he was in 7th grade at the same time this year's seniors were.

Wish he would have stayed. We could have used a speedy back like him.
On to next week. Want to hear something crazy? I think we might have a chance in each of the next 2 games.

btw what do you guys feed your lineman they were HUGE i think it was #71 and #76 i couldnt believe how tall they were and #71 was really fast for being so tall. Galion has some real talent if they could get healthy Cooke wasnt very mobile and you could tell it hurt him badly once we started getting pressure on him but he has a cannon for a arm was really impressed. It was the first time i was at your field very cool facility.

We do have some pretty big linemen. Just need to get them to protect and work as a unit.
Seems like our only running play is straight into the pile. Fine if your line is opening up the planned gap, but if not it makes our running game non-existent.

Well it would help if the running back would look up occasionally to find a hole instead of just running blindly to where ever he was running to in practice. Also, our linemen are absolutely awful at sustaining blocks after first contact. But so long we can't catch balls that hit us in the hands they will continue to load up the box and make running the football very difficult on us. I'm going to chalk much of last night up to our receivers and our qb not being in synch due to not working together in weeks and hope for better execution going forward. One more thing, this is not the NFL. We had several kids out there more concerned with not getting hit than making plays. There is no reason to be sliding in hs football instead of making plays(and I watched more than one kid do this).

Probably not 100% and i'll take him playing at 50% as opposed to injured again for the rest of the season.

As for the sliding i could see the qb doing it he could hardly move let alone run but not the others... seems like your team just ran out of gas and confidence in the second half... if you guys could find any sort of running game it would help you guys alot i was actually really surprised how bad your line blocked at times for being so big.
