Let's see, since Harding has been in the MOAC they are one and done each season in baseball and basketball. They have yet to make the play-offs in football. So it would appear the MOAC banner is the only one they could ever hope to hang.

Galion also has random drug testing for their athletes. So does Pleasant, so I have no idea what Eagles Nest is talking about when he says, "Marion Harding has random drug screens which might be the only school in the MOAC to do so." I think almost every school in the MOAC does....BV...RV...NU. Harding is not the only one to do so. I actually wonder which public school DOESN'T do drug testing.... I did use the word "might". The OHSAA nor the MOAC have any set guidelines to drug testing. But the conversation started with this "All players are drug tested pre-season and randomly throughout the year ". Id like to know what MOAC school does this?

North Union athletes participate in drug testing. As a NU parent I agree with what was stated about Harding from wallpass, who I followed on jj as well (always respected his postings). It's the lack of discipline which people don't care for, but that is a difference of school cultures. The football player with the ankle monitor did not sit well with folks, because it would not happen at our school. Supposedly the same kid missed practices that week. If you miss practice, you sit out. I appreciate the discipline the coaches have instilled in my sons. I didn't see Harding play boys basketball this year so I can't comment on that, but the sprint track kids have a rep for steroid use. Don't know if that is true, but that is what people say and I have heard that for years. Our basketball and softball girls have owned Harding for years, so like I said, it isn't so much the size but the lack of discipline and the drama involved.

Kid with the ankle monitor missed 4 games. He had a ankle monitor for missing court. 40% of his season gone. I'm sorry he wasn't suspended 10 games lol. He coulda came back week 2 or 3 but the team opted for him to return against NU.

I don't care how many games he miss or what the circumstances was behind it honestly I don't know for a fact but I would like to believe if a similar issue occurred at the county schools he would not have played.
I would guess people just don't like city kids more than anything else. They are more into talking Poop in social media and in person and that rubs people the wrong way. Its very subjective but watching them on social media its been pretty eye opening.
IMO if Harding would focus more on what they could do in making the playoffs and runs in the playoffs and leave the petty BS alone I think there would be less push back. There are some leagues that the only focus is on how you do in the playoffs, league is nice but its only a consolation prize if you don't win in the playoffs. So maybe shift the focus to on the field?

I said I didn't know if it was true. BUT - I do know what people say and I will say they have had that rep for years. I also said a difference of cultures, so your comment about ankle monitor guy only missing 40% of the season makes no sense other than once again you feel like you have to defend him being in the wrong. Once again, read the post because your response sounded ignorant after you called mine ignorant. I have a different perspective on discipline than you do, and we will have to agree to disagree. That is a part of the culture difference between a city school and a rural blue collar school.

If you don't know if it is true you don't repeat it, well most civilians don't cause it's more like spreading rumors lol. But Harding owned Nu in the 2 main sports for there first 2 years in moac so I understand your problem with em.

I’m a Harding Homer not going to hide that. so are the girls at NU on something like performance enhancing drugs since they have been dominating the city girls for years...lol Believe nothing you hear and half of what you see about Marion Harding..county schools would not have played him but RV gets a kid back from STERIOD USE on Thursday and he plays Friday night so that is shot down. Also moacmama NU kids like dropping the Nword, is that ok? It was sent to your AD/Head coach with the numbers, nothing was done. So for you county schools to sit up on your high horse and deflect everything to the "city kids" is ridiculous. Harding will never get the benefit of the doubt and we are ok with that. Girl’s athletics and football are starting to see a turnaround so without MOAC wins we will not have playoff opportunities. They go hand in hand.

Ah, the race card. Now we know the problem. Eagles nest "I'm a Harding Homer not going to hide that". That admission makes your comments suspect right out of the starting blocks. The N word has been used by them on the field. First year it harding was in moac it caused a fight and one of there players got decked and the ref didn't see it. Not sure they said a word this year. They couldn't even score so doubt they talked.

Hey! You guys think I'm a whining father? I was so disappointed that my son didn't get a nod to play in the North/South game. I was really looking forward to that game. I went and watched it last year. I didn't see many guys who were heading on to play college football. Was this just an academic athletes chosen to play, I guess I'm trying to see what they get judged on. Don't get me wrong Connor Moreton is a BEAST. He should have made it first from Galion easy call there. I thought my son did enough at the end of the season to warrant a spot though to showcase what he could do with the talented guys on the North's team. It was only senior boys right? If I am a whining dad...don't care..wanted to vent a little bit. haha! I never even heard the quarterbacks on the North's team..one was from South Central...come man! LOL

The competitive balance numbers have a lot of people talking about how it now can be seen which schools have kids who transfer, open enroll or who knows what else.
The all star game is all seniors and I believe the coaches nominate kids and they get invited by the game coaching staffs.

There also has to be representation from every school in the "area". At least that used to be the rule. I realize that you are a father and probably too close the situation to look at it objectively but no way should your son have been chosen over any qb on either roster. Sorry man just being objective about it.

That may be the thought but I know in the past they have invited kids and they have not shown up so not every school in the area was present. This year did seem to be lower numbers.

They also have random drug screening throughout the year to maintain those privileges. The students must pay for the test that covers everyone but the school picks up the tab on the random tests. So, now you know. Also, 4 mentioned nobody at Harding has been busted for drugs or alcohol in the last couple of years which is totally false. Last fall one of your better players showed up to Homecoming drunk. Instead of him missing any games, he got some in-school discipline. Everyone knew about it but we all watched *** it was swept under the rug.

LOL This could be your head coaches fault, did he get 1st team all NCOFCA? The kids that made 1st team were asked to play, then if they did not have enough they went to 2nd team, then honorable mention and so on and so on. If they still did not have enough the coaches of the teams picked up kids they wanted.
