Half way into the fall season and admins are having talks about the future of changing leagues. Interesting. Who and from where?

^^ For the time being it's all hallway talk involving schools from 3-4 different leagues so keep your ears open when you are at league games.

Not the first coach soap opera in this area, let a lone the state. Some know ones that others don't. Some get the coach suspended, some get them fired, some get them jail time. Some are not mentioned. My 7th grade basketball coach, Coach Peffley is one on a former Kreger staff, was here 2 years then was run out after hitting on young girls in his class. Told a girl "if you dress like that everyday you'll sure get an A in my class" Oh and Hawkins needs to start recruiting it looks like.

EXCUSE ME??? Did you play for Hawkins? Hell NO! He's had great talent and/or easy schedules his whole coaching career!! Darian Watkins, Charlie Frye??? Good luck getting athletes like that the next 5 years at Ontario, their junior high football is rough right now!! And if he was such a good coach he would stay at one school like Coach Balogh!!!! You're excused teenie. I played for a better coach than than the current head coach at Ontario. Ontario's current Soph QB is comparable to Watkins when he was a Soph, already a better passer than Watkins. You aren't old enough to have seen Watkins play much if any or know his sad story. You named 2 players who played for him at Willard and Galion. Takes more than 2 to win the games he did over the past dozen or so years. Who were the other 100 good players he HAD to have? We await your wisdom. Playing in the NOL isn't easy. Playing Wynford isn't easy. Playing JA, Pleasant and RV isn't easy. Clear Fork and Shelby joining the MOAC makes it a more difficult football conference. Ontario's Junior high programs have been "rough" for decades. The current coach's biggest challenge. H He didn't leave Willard, he left Galion ONLY because they never got him the job they promised him every year he was there. Balogh!!!! is a big reason Ontario hasn't done much in football the past 30 years, except when coach V was at Ontario. Do you even know who Coach V is and when he was the head coach at Ontario?? That's one of the problems. You and most everyone in and around the current program knows little if anything about the history of Ontario's football past. A perfect example of what Balogh!!!! has done for football. THE best athlete in the Freshman class this year, that class's QB and best hitter and pitcher in baseball. Starting this year is now concentrating solely on basketball and will play varsity basketball this year as a Freshman. That class won the NOL 8th grade Championship last year. None of the best players on that team play football. They work on their basketball skills during football. Which happens most years since Balogh!!! has been at Ontario. A BIG problem for the football coach, regardless of what his name is. You're to young to know much of anything, so I know you don't know that Balogh!!!! came real close to taking the Madison job, but they couldn't come close to matching the great teaching deal Balogh!!!! had/has. Do you have any idea how RARE it is for a head coach to coach for 30+ years these days, let alone 30+ years at the same school?? Name just ONE around here. You can't, you're wayyy toooo young. You DID have "character" issues last year. THE hardest thing to do when attempting to turn around a program is changing the culture. Changing the losing mindset. HUGE "character" issues in team sports. That "character" issue is still there. Good teams, when they have someone down by by 2 scores at half time, put their foot on their throat and choke the life out of them in the 2nd half. Balogh!!!! had to change those same "character" issues in his first few years. Do you know what Balogh!!!! makes? Do you know what he does not have to do? If you know what the football coach makes you SHOULD know what every school employee makes. NOTHING you say can be believed now or in the future. NOW you tell us that the Ontario football coach makes $10,000 LESS per year than you originally told us. You now tell us he has a completely DIFFERENT job than what you originally told us. Are you a prevaricator or a very bad exaggerator? Next you'll claim to be a school board member as the reason you know these falsehoods, rumors, innuendos. Okay, my point exactly Ontario is a basketball school. Until Balogh!!! leaves it will be! And yeah I know both are overpaid, I know most of the teacher salaries at Ontario, they are public record. I would have to look again but 70k to 80k is still a ridiculous amount of money for a PE teacher/football coach. At least Balogh helps kids find jobs etc. I know who Coach V is to my family has been in Ontario for over 25 years, and my Grandpa graduated from Ontario, so I do not need you disrespecting my opinion. I'm just trying to tell you firsthand about the differences between being a player and being an older fellow on the outside. I RESPECT YOUR OPINION, IT'S TIME YOU START RESPECTING MINE!

Your point about Balogh and his basketball program cannot be respected. Nothing changes if Ontario's OHSAA award winning JV coach becomes the next head coach when Balogh retires, NOT "leaves". Secondly there will be a long list of quality coaches wanting the head job of the program that's firmly in place at Ontario. Your "ridiculous" opinion about salaries can not be respected. They can not be paid a penny more or a penny less than their labor agreement says they MUST be paid. Ontario has had football for 57 years. Do you know why it han't been more years than that? What Ontario head football coach has the most wins? How many coaches in Ontario's history have winning records? You can't be respected unless you know the answers. Just so you know, your talking to a football player of some note. I'll PM you the specifics. You have no idea how much I'm on the inside.

Nope I only go by what I was told. It could be wrong and I might add that was a month ago so it may have been true at the time. That said I wish the young man a successful 1st game.

I fully believe in second chances, but not a third or fourth. Not saying any kids in this discussion have gotten that far.

Well he was given many chances at Harding that is documented, and he finally ran out and was kicked off the team. Sometimes kids need a wake up call and if protecting him didn't work maybe kicking him off the team will help.

Golly gee whiz stuff. After week 7 only two MOAC teams have a realistic shot at a week 11 game.
Clear Fork 1 in D4 R14 and Pleasant 2 in D5 R18.
Others Harding 11 D2 R8, BV 16 D3 R11, Galion 14 D4 R14, RV 21 and Ontario 22 D4 R14 and North Union 17 D5 R18.
Highland of the KMAC is 6 D4 R14. Northmor 5 D6 and East Knox 7 D6 R23 and Danville 1 D7 R27

Because Harding is in r8 which is nothing but Cincy and south west Ohio teams they are literally the only central Ohio team there how did that happen? Lol

OHSAA tries to even out the regions, number wise. That's about all that can be said for the who and where of some of the regions.

You are right hardingmavman, it can be crazy. Because of our location, I know teams like Pleasant, Elgin, North Union, etc. have been in the SE, SW and NW Ohio regions over the years. Central Ohio seems to be filler teams for the 4 regions. Just look at Division 1 this year. Region 2 has Findlay, Toledo, Lorain, Medina and schools from Olentangy, Dublin, Westerville and Worthington while Region 3 has the rest of the Columbus suburban schools down to Lancaster and then over to Springfield and Dayton area. Dublin and Hilliard in 2 different regions? Crazy. It makes a lot more sense to move one of the southern Columbus schools into Region 8 and have Harding in Region 7 with Massillon, Ashland and the other Columbus schools bubt who ever said the OHSAA was sensible.

Agreed you would think with the price of gas and travel now they would consider this a factor so say Harding did make it as a 8 seed they would have to travel 3 hours or vice versa its crazy

It could be much worse. Your school could be real close to Youngstown and have to travel to close to Cincinnatti.

No way in hell we should even be talking about Harding making playoffs with that offensive coordinator, I'm sure he will find a way to sabotage these final 3 games . Just the thought of him having to put in extra work is probably giving him fits. Just watch he will blow the BV game. This guy is a joke and idk why he's still there, Harding is 5-2 ONLY because of their athletes. Mark my word they will end up 5-5 or at best 6-4. And I'm fine with that as the head coach is done after this year, so on to the next head coach. Let's just pray it's noone who is already there, if so Westler the OC will still be there.
