Playing the White Sox won't hurt either. The Tribe has the easiest remaining schedule in the AL. At the moment they only have one series remaining with a team who has a winning record and that would be the Twins. They should have an opportunity to overtake Houston. Now, that I did not know. Quiz is correct, Baltimore is just above .500, at 70-68 We're getting players back off the DL and getting healthy again, at just the right time. Their recent play, has put us in a strong position to gain home field advantage. It would be great to see them at full strength, going into the playoffs and with Carrasco this time.

Prospects look good for Indians with Carrasco and Kluber pitching the next two games. Yep, if they can get these next 2 games they'll set a new franchise record for consecutive wins just one year after setting it at 14

1st place in the division, better record than last year at this point, and just swept the best team record-wise in the AL in their house. So far so good. And......improving on our record breaking 14 game win streak still lies ahead....lolAbove, is a comment I made on May 21st. Wow, it IS happening, or at least looks that way!

You can bet Kluber will pitch his **s off tomorrow night, to break the club record! Of course, he always pitches his **s off. The magic number must be about 12 by now.

Universal Windows Direct stands to lose a lot of money if the Indians win today, thanks to a promotion they ran where anyone buying work in July would get it for free if the Indians won 15 straight games: www.cleveland.com/entertainment/index.ssf/2017/09/cleveland_indians_win_streak_t.htmlThe magic number must be about 12 by now. Minnesota won last night, so the magic number is at 13. In other news, the White Sox and Tigers are now mathematically eliminated from the division race and the magic number to eliminate KC is 11.

Kluber had 13 K's and 0 walks in 7 innings, gave up 1 hit after the 1st inning, 96 pitches, 67 strikes. His 2 runs caused the starting pitchers ERA In the winning streak to go up from 1.86 to 1.91.

The Astros have a pretty tough remaining schedule Seattle-3, Angels-6, Red Sox-4, Rangers-3, A's-4, White Sox-3. So, maybe the Tribe has a good chance at #1 in the AL. At least we hopefully have home field against the Red Sox or Yankees (which was huge last year).

The Indians' run differential is now 199, the Dodgers' have the next best at 177.
Indians are 36-11 since 7/21.
The first time in franchise history to sweep an 11 game road trip. The last time that was done by another team was 60 years ago by the 1957 Reds
Ramirez is the first player since 1900 to have 15 extra base hits in a 9 game stretch.
Tito gives Ramirez a day off due to a sore wrist and light hitting Gonzalez, his replacement, hits 2 home runs.

Indians getting closer to having the first pitching staff in baseball history to average 10 strikeouts per game

The Indians beat up on chump teams, which they have to do to succeed. Now the real test begins against quality ballclubs. Frankly, don't see the Tribe finishing anymore that one or two games above .500 when it is all said and done. just way too inconsistent hitting. Pitching is fine, bullpen is good, but hitting consistently is atrocious. The above post never left my thoughts, with this historic run by the Tribe. Try.......31 games over .500 and best record in the American league? All eyes of baseball are on these Indians! What special times we are experiencing, what a great time to be a Tribe fan!

With the Indians 18 game win streak, they have moved on top of the American League. By contrast, the Los Angeles Dodgers, baseballs hottest team prior to the Indians, have fizzled, losing 10 in a row.

As BellevueBuckeye mentioned earlier Universal Windows did have a promotion with the Indians however they didn't lose a bundle. As a matter of fact they are laughing all the way to the bank.I read they had a 75k insurance policy that paid out over 1.8 million in work. Next year when they run the same promo(I assume they will)they'll sell twice as many windows and face it the odds will be long the Tribe could do it again. Great marketing move.

Ouch...that could mean that AA rookie Greg Allen, who was brought up 9/1, will make the playoff roster. For defense in centerfield, pinch runner, steal a base.

The streak is now at 19, tied with the 1906 White Sox and 1947 Yankees for the 2nd longest winning streak in American League history.

I wouldn't bet on Almonte making the post season roster. Francona has asked Kipnis to start working in the outfield. He played Centerfield in college.
