looking forward to a great season
i think a sleeper guy to keep an eye on who may not put up big number but should get a callup and some MLB playing time this year and will contribute if he does is Yandy Diaz
really think we see Bradley Zimmer by June also
big question to me in Spring Training is the health of Michael Brantley and Danny Salazar...Salazar was taking a big step forward until after the AS Break, when he fell apart and got hurt

it'd be nice to see DET deal Kinsler and Cabrera, both for the Tribe and for me fantasy wise with Cabrera that is like the worst HR park in the majors
i think the AL Central takes a step back in terms of competitiveness in 2017 either way, the Indians (if healthy) should dominate

Isn't it nice to see the tribe spending some $$$ ti sign EE and keep their arbitration eligible players in the wig wam? What a difference a world series makes, along with some help from a minority owner too.

I would expect the Royals to rebound and the Tigers are still a .500 team. No telling about the White Sox, I see they resigned Frazier. That kind of surprised me. Minn who knows it's unlikely they'll be great but there always seems to be a team that comes out of nowhere.

Again I say good-bye to McCallister and maybe Gomes as you could see his body language showed he had no confidence when batting.

As deep as the Tribe's farm system is right now they damn near do.

Tribe at 11th best farm system and reds at 10. Weird how so close lol. But man Clint Frazier woulda been nice to watch in Cleveland. He's gonna be really really good. Watched that game on the network today and he knocked a triple 1 at bat and it looked effortless.

Yeah I'd take Cleveland's over Cincy's, Robert Stephenson is a bum and Jesse Winker will struggle to reach his floor in the majors. Cleveland has fantastic OF depth with 2-3 of those kids MLB ready and at least 2 of them will contribute this year. Tristan McKenzie is as good a pitching prospect as there is, all things considered, and if Aiken pans out (a big if!) they've at least got the beginnings of a rebuild if/when the Kluber/Carrasco/Salazar train goes off track. And I haven't even mentioned Francisco Mejia.
The only kid in Cincy's system worth a big time damn is Senzel. He's got a shot but he's not going to be the power 3B that teams really covet.

Garrett is 2nd best prospect he's solid. He should be good. I think he's ranked higher then any Cleveland player, and then winker is alright he just needs a chance. He hits the ball pretty well. Peraza is gonna start for reds this year he's a future all star. Herrera is coming up from triple a as well. Stephenson has had good outtings just wasn't ready for majors last year. Reds slightly edge them.

So with Kipnis starting on the DL, Jose Ramirez will be the opening day 2B with Diaz at 3B.
Chisenhall also starts on the DL, meaning right field will likely be Guyer and Almonte platooning, with Naquin and Austin Jackson platooning in center and hopefully Brantley being the everyday left fielder.

Yesterday Francona wouldn't even say if Brantley has made the opening day roster, which doesn't have to be announced until Sunday. My guess is Francona will be giving Brantley quite a few days off to begin the season, might even DH him. Considering weather, field condition and his judgement on the number of games played in a row. Hopefully by May he's an "everyday" player again. I'm not worried about him hitting, the concern is the first time he dives on his bad shoulder or crashes it into a wall trying to make a catch. That can't be duplicated in rehab or workouts. It will just happen, some day in a game. Hold your breath.

Just read he is fully cleared to play. Do wonder how he will hold up in the field.

Cleveland has no left handed starting pitchers. What happened to R. Merritt who is a LHP and looked so good against Boston and Toronto in the playoffs?

Well, as soon as I said that he really settled down.
Nice comeback win to start the season. Great to see Diaz get his first hit, EE's first Cleveland homer and Brantley with a nice insurance RBI.

Another comeback win completes the opening series sweep of the Rangers, as Lindor gets his first career grand slam put the Tribe ahead in the 9th.

Great to see Brantley get a walk off double to win the home opener. Other than that, the Tribe sucked today with RISP, especially EE. Pitching was very good today, and man that was a sweet catch by Diaz to keep the game tied late.

MLB commissioners say its time for Chief Wahoo to go. Next will be the Braves logo, the Redskins...etc.
Stand up against PC liberal pussies Cleveland.

original NOSF crew designed a much better logo anyway, wish i had the link You refering to that feather logo? I'm thinking it was either South or Pronk that posted it. On the topic of Chief Wahoo, it was interesting seing this article pop up right on the Indians website (though I realize it was produced by mlb.com and not the team) m.indians.mlb.com/news/article/223880638/chief-wahoo-logo-farewell-a-matter-of-time/ In other news, the Indians optioned Naquin down to Columbus today to make room for Chisenhall, so Almonte is staying on the roster for now. ....and Tomlin just gave up 7 runs to start tonight's game before being yanked in the 2nd.
