Old friend Carl Willis returns to the Tribe as the new pitching coach. He has been with the Indians before, has a good history, and for the last 2.5 years was the Red Sox pitching coach. Good choice IMO although losing Mickey Calloway is a huge loss. Hope Willis, who is now 56 I think, can pick up where Calloway left off.

Indians pick up Brantley's option. Tomlin's too.

I'd kick the tires on the Astros too for a 3B upgrade, both JD Davis and Colin Moran are blocked by Alex Bregman and could maybe be had. I'm a Moran fan he made some changes to his swing and his flyball % and line drive % both jumped.

Does this mean that you're giving up on Kipnis as your 2nd baseman?

no, it just means we need a 3rd baseman and have for years, independent of who mans 2nd
personally i think 2nd base is already Jose Ramirez's as it should be, Kipnis ain't knocking him off anything, he was at below replacement player level last year, he's fighting for an OF or Utility role imho, probably utility cause i don't think he has the arm for RF
