This will seem so odd seeing all the new lineups in the divisions. Not sure how it will go or how long it will last, but it has the interest up.

Who is continuing to play Perkins and Clyde? Shame that some of the teams took the Margaretta route and skirted away from them?

Winning brings boys back into the program.
For teams with a consistent loosing record year after year here's the formula.
Dummy down your independent schedule to guarantee wins early. Those wins create confidence and help pick up a few more wins during your conference schedule. As kids come back into the program you can upgrade the independent schedule that creates more computer points and a shot at the playoffs. A couple playoff appearances and kids will flock to the program.
Two examples, Norwalk and Port Clinton. Also doesn't hurt to have a couple kids named Turner and Lowe make their way through your program.

Did it the old fashioned way in 2014 and that's to get better. Went out and beat a damn good Genoa team on the road and blew out Rossford on the road as well. Norwalk took the easy way and scheduled every member of the little sisters of the poor they could get. The Port Clinton revival is so much more than Emerson Lowe. Emerson's been a key cog but kid's like Nathan Stubblefield, Brandon Moore, Tristan Mallory, Aiden Rospert, Keegan Lowe, Stone Scott and Russell Demarco have been every bit as key. Stubblefield himself is one of the best players in the program's history and owns every kicking, scoring, receiving and return record in the book.

I see the Register's preview special lists the 3 division names for next year as Lake, Bay and River, and I also heard a radio guy last night refer to the big school division as the Lake division. That's the first time I've seen division names mentioned like that, when did they make it official?
Personally I like those names, though I know there were many holding out hope that they would somehow work the "Northern Ohio" name into this.

Football only:Lake | Bay | River | Bellevue | Edison | Calvert | Clyde | Huron | Lakota | Columbian | Oak Harbor | Margaretta | Norwalk | Shelby | St. Joseph | Perkins | Port Clinton | St. Mary | Sandusky | Vermilion | Willard |
Every 3 years a bump up for a top team and a bump down for the worst team could be a solution to keep the SBC strong and healthy for decades. After the 2017, 2018 and 2019 seasons we might notice a team running away with the River Division and a team that can't cut it in the Lake Division. Possible 2020 Alignment Lake | Bay | River | Bellevue | Willard | Calvert | Clyde | Norwalk | Lakota | Columbian | Oak Harbor | Margaretta | Huron | Shelby | St. Joseph | Perkins | Port Clinton | St. Mary | Sandusky | Vermilion | Edison |
We will see if realignment is needed that soon, but with 2016 psychology of win now or I'm taking my ball and going home, 3 years might be the perfect timing. I hope the SBC stays open to the idea. I think the Lake division will always be very competitive, but I can see a Bay or River team making a great hire and becoming dominate in their division. That will not cause problems for most members, but the flip side of a dominate team is the team which makes a few poor hires in a row and becomes noncompetitive. We've seen the noncompetitive team cause league upheaval in their search for a league they can compete in.

Every time you mess with the divisions you are messing with the schedule that is already set. The teams that swap also swap division schedules. Another easy fix is to declare how many crossover games a team is allowed to play. If 2 crossover games are forced (no more, no less) then that covers weeks 4-10. When teams swap divisions they swap those 7 weeks. We need to see how the first few years go before a rule change needs to be made. But an open mind is key to keeping this Conference a success. A closed mind to division swapping is just asking for the Conference to crumble.

A closed mind to division swapping is just asking for the Conference to crumble. Really there isn't cross-over games. Games played against schools in different divisions are essentially non-conference games. Case in point. Edison and Willard play this week. If they were to be placed in the same division in the future that means that week 2 game now becomes an open date for both schools. If they make the decision to change the division a year ahead you are looking for a game, which isn't impossible, but isn't easy either. Making it mandatory that "cross-over" games can only be played weeks 4 & 5 also limits your non-conference options.

Thanks.
So Bellevue has an interesting 2017 schedule so far...Canton Central Catholic in week 1?, Shelby as a non league game, continuing our "Tour de Toledo" by moving on to TCL school #4, Route 20 rivalry in week 10, and weeks 2 and 3 still left to be filled....wonder who we'll find. Looking at the other schedules I see Willard is available in week 2, but do they want to continue playing Bellevue, and if they did wouldn't it already be scheduled?

I heard Shelby and Huron for cross over play for Bellevue. One spot still open to fill. From what I'm reading maybe Huron is not playing us!? I think any division IV school in the Bay division should step up and fill the spots needed for the lake division. I thought this league was suppose to help all schools in travel. SBC (if that's the league name) should take control and tell these other schools they need to play cross over games with in the league. Makes no sense if you are the same size school why wouldn't you keep games local and close? Vermilion and Port Clinton need to step up IMO!!!!
