moacmama, Who will be the teams in your new conference? USA, London school board is voting tonight. They have to accept their invite before any changes happen. Having said that, it is London, Ben Logan, Bellefontaine, Indian Lake, Urbana, Jonathan Alder, Graham, Kenton Ridge, Northwestern, Shawnee, and Tecumseh. Greenon was in but they are leaving for OHC. They will do a North/South division or a big/small. I haven't talked to anyone about it in awhile so I feel a little out of the loop. Sure hope the powers that be will schedule non conference football games with Pleasant. Those games are always fun even if it is a down year for one of the teams (or both).

Looks as though they are doing a total realignment for the changes since they were previously north/south or small/big divisions.

You're always nice to the opponent's fans after you humiliate their team. That being said I still don't understand why they are leaving to the new situation they have chosen. It's not for shorter trips or smaller schools. I've never had any problem with NU but I certainly do prefer the drive to Shelby. OK so I posted the reasons on the "Shelby to the MOAC thread"...but whatevs. It actually is shorter to most of the schools, and MOAC keeps expanding to the north. I think this is a good situation for us. Nobody likes change, and we've been in the MOAC since the beginning so it will be a big change for everyone involved. Our school district is huge. Some of our residents can be in Bellefontaine in a 15-20 minute drive. The north end of Springfield is about 45 minutes. Takes me an hour to get to Galion. I can go on and on but it won't matter on here what I say. Hopefully Galion schedules some basketball and football games AT North Union still because they have the best food in the conference.

Are they playing each other in football this year? No Is this a football forum or almost all sports forum? Football forum Your point was made when he responded calling you ignorant No, the point was hoss feeling bad for Shelby because I would be at their football games. Even you should think that's ignorant

Looks as thought they are doing a total realignment for the changes. Not total, for North/South Divisions only two schools have to move. In that scenario, four MOAC schools are closer than all schools in the North Division that NU would be in. Also Two more MOAC schools are the same Distance as the average in the North Division.
Thank you. One kid can ruin the rep for an entire team. Glad you enjoyed your visit to NU. Find me at the game this year and I will buy you some chicken n noodles! I stated in another thread that I really don't mind driving to Galion. My nephew broke his arm in a JV game several years ago and everyone was great to him. You remember that stuff. Nice town and your stadium is unique. Reminds of the town I grew up in, with the park setting. My only gripe is the parking so we just get there super early and hang out in the park.
I will have to take you up on that. I appreciate your insight on what's going on down in Richwood and look forward to that as well this season. Hopefully the CBC will work out great for all the student athletes!

Now back to the topic, now that NU is leaving is there an official invitation headed Shelby's way? And if so, how soon until they would potentially vote on such?

I would think the MOAC would take action as soon as they receive official word from NU.

Shelby has accepted the MOAC invitation from the NU departure. The big question right now is when - 2018-19 or 2019-20.

In the past, with Fairbanks and Upper Sandusky, the MOAC allowed them to leave right away for all sports except for football. They were forced to hang around in football for one season because of the whole scheduling process in that sport. I would assume that would be the situation here as well.

The scheduling process is most definitely the issue at play. There are a lot of schools involved. Shelby has their 2019 football schedule set. They would have to ask schools in weeks 4 and 5 out of those contracts. In addition, they would have to go through the process for withdrawal of the SBC. None of that has occurred yet. If it carries over into the school year, it's likely it will not be until 2019-20. That's not to mention North Union - I was not aware when they are leaving. It was not mentioned in their board minutes. That's the first step.

At this point I can't keep track of conferences and members. As they say, you can't tell the players without a program. Who are the current MOAC members so I know where I'm driving in 1-2 years?

Ontario, Clear Fork, Galion, River Valley, Pleasant, Harding, Buckeye Valley, and Shelby would be the replacement for North Union.

Hopefully the conference doesn't change now Not so fast my friend...The Athletic department and Principal have voted to leave the MOAC, now up to the School board for final approval. Â Which I dont see that vote being any different. Â As for Shelby, the paperwork has already been filed and will be accepted when NU gives the final verdict. Â Also Pleasant was offered a spot with NU. Â So I see them leaving in the not so distant future. Â Who would replace them? Â Willard would be my best guess.. Â Would like to know what new team in the MOAC doesn't want Harding in. Â The meeting I attended only NU and pleasant were the disgruntled kids at the table. Â This is the quote you all were looking for.

Given that Shelby's current conference still hasn't actually played a game in anything yet, I would be absolutely shocked if both Shelby and NU weren't released of any conference obligations outside of football and allowed to join their new" conferences similar to what happened with Upper Sandusky. Obviously they'd need to hang around for one more season in football, but I can't see either school being obligated for any more than that. I also don't see Pleasant leaving for the conference that NU is joining, as it really doesn't make any sense financially or competitively to do so.

We are over 12 months away from the 2018 season. Both leagues have teams wanting to join so the replacements should not be very difficult.

You know, we should all be feeling sorry for poor Galion. Think of it, they will have to get a new MOAC banner now.
