You are correct mama it does snow everywhere so that would be a stupid remark for someone to make as an excuse. You would be the REAL "stupid" one. Not even mama thinks snowfall is the same in all areas of Ohio. No "excuse", just meteorological facts. I've had reasons to travel back and forth to Columbus A LOT over the years. For round numbers sake it's been 50 times in the winter and it's snowing when I got on 71, but there is no snow south of Morrow County. Those driving to Manfield from Columbus would say there was no snow until they got to Morrow county, and then all of sudden there's a couple of inches. You have heard of how the Central Highlands and Lake Erie both affect snow fall right? They both come into play when heading NORTH to Sandusky on Lake Erie. Almost always more snow around Sandusky than Mansfield. So you think that driving on 71 in the winter is indicative of the travel conditions for the rest of Morrow country? In addition, yes, if you go north you get more snow genius but when you go south you end up with more freezing rain. You ever consider that? Just another meteorological fact for you to ponder. Personally I'd take the snow over the ice storms.

And until now I thought Union and Madison County was sunny and 80 all year round. All the bad weather is up north.

And yes I am fully aware of what schools are in the CBC. Remember mama, with 12 schools you won't play everyone and we don't know what the schedules will be so saying what the travel is for NU or what size schools NU will be playing right now is an uneducated guess. I am confident the AD and admins did the research on this!

Rt 95 between Marion & Mt Gilead is no joyride, either, and I can't begin to imagine what those back roads look like.

Snow picks up in Morrow county and gets worse the further north you travel through the Central Highlands to Lake Erie on the way to Sandusky. Nope big brain, in all of my many trips to Columbus, I don't recall freezing rain starting south of Morrow County. But I do remember the night we spent several hours in the truck stop at 18 and 71 when the Highway Patrol made us get off the highway due the more than a dozen cars and trucks piled up on the road and medium. THE worst ice storm I have ever seen

Remember mama Scooty Dude just makes up BS. Doesn't anyone around here do RESEARCH?? There are 2 Divisions in the CBC. It DOES NOT matter which one NU is put in. The AVERAGE trip for one Division for NU would be 61 minutes, the AVERAGE trip for NU in the other Division would be 51 minutes. While the AVERAGE trip in the MOAC WITH Clear Fork and Ontario in it is 40 miles. Fact, not guess.

I have been told the reason was a fear of being a league of 7. Here we go again, who told you that? If you're in an 8 school league the easiest and maybe the only way for it to be 7 is if YOU leave. I'LL actually give you the positions. The AD, coaches and administration at Ontario had NO PROBLEM with the NOL being a 7 school league. Based on FACTS you'll never convince me that the only reason NU wants out of the MOAC is their disdain for Harding. Which does not make them look good. With that being said, I LOVE the fact they want out. Shelby makes the MOAC stronger and I like their community. For once I totally agree with you

For once I totally agree with you Shelby athletics go in cycles just like North Union. Both are good members for a solid conference. Shelby will be a good addition and strong competition but I wonder if it really makes the MOAC more stable.

With Shelby moving to MOAC I feel bad for them. The likelihood that Fillmore shows up their games just went up exponentially

Shelby and Ontario are adjoining school districts. Playing each other in almost all sports every year for decades. I have "shows up their games"[sic] hundreds of times and no one in Shelby "feels bad". Including many friends and relatives. I understand that can't be said for you.

Outside of the FC can you give us a list of the conferences in this part of the state that HAVE been stable, just in the past decade? High school athletic conferences and stability is an oxymoron these days. Thus not worthy of consideration.

With BV getting a new AD, I don't know what his thoughts will be on staying in the MOAC. I know last administration was checking into the OCC.

I've gone to many Shelby football games when my nephews played for Shelby, no problems. You lose, try again.

So the question on my mind tonight. Did North Union's school board indeed vote to leave the MOAC and join the CBC?

Thanks for the info, moacmomma. I must say I very much have enjoyed North Union. I heard complaints from some claiming that the football team "played dirty," but from my experiences everyone I have ever had contact with from NU has nothing but wonderful. I rode the shuttle bus NU provided to where we parked, following the Galion loss to them in the 2012 playoffs, I was pleasantly surprised that everyone was so nice to my grandfather and I. As you can see, it left quite an empression on me. So this Galion fan is sorry to see the Wildcats go. Good luck to you in the future of the CBC!

You're always nice to the opponent's fans after you humiliate their team. That being said I still don't understand why they are leaving to the new situation they have chosen. It's not for shorter trips or smaller schools. I've never had any problem with NU but I certainly do prefer the drive to Shelby.

One kid can ruin the rep for an entire team. Glad you enjoyed your visit to NU. Find me at the game this year and I will buy you some chicken n noodles! I stated in another thread that I really don't mind driving to Galion. My nephew broke his arm in a JV game several years ago and everyone was great to him. You remember that stuff. Nice town and your stadium is unique. Reminds of the town I grew up in, with the park setting. My only gripe is the parking so we just get there super early and hang out in the park.

OK so I posted the reasons on the "Shelby to the MOAC thread"...but whatevs. It actually is shorter to most of the schools, and MOAC keeps expanding to the north. I think this is a good situation for us. Nobody likes change, and we've been in the MOAC since the beginning so it will be a big change for everyone involved. Our school district is huge. Some of our residents can be in Bellefontaine in a 15-20 minute drive. The north end of Springfield is about 45 minutes. Takes me an hour to get to Galion. I can go on and on but it won't matter on here what I say.
