You are totally missing my point. It has nothing to do with grouping them together or anything, just pointing out that the majority of these kids are all big ten or other similar conference caliber players. Baldref trying to make it sound like they should all be in the MAC or something which isn’t true. And now since you have to always argue with everyone like Willard Fillmore used to do, this has gotten way off topic. I get what you are saying. These kids are good enough to be recruited by any and all power conference schools. I am only saying that the OSU plan for Scotty Middleton may not be the same as MSU's. Only having an offer does not make them equal. Some offers were 2 years before graduation and others were 5 months. Some offers are a one and done while others may be a 3-4 year process. I was only saying that just because 2 guys have 3 offers from the same schools does not make them the same. Nothing more. Willard and I were friends. He was just much older and did not see things with current eyes. But in this, I'm not arguing with you rather then add from my experiences.

Rankings do not necessarily translate into performance. And yes that is where coaching comes into placebut its not a 30-pointdifference. Too many individuals and not enough team players and that's Holtmanns fault This was the post I made. I did mot mention Day as jakethesnake2 incorrectly altered and changed. Carry on

I saw a video online of the crowd right before player introductions and the Schott looked so empty. So many empty seats even in the lower bowls. So much apathy right now with this program which is sad.
Thornton has fallen off lately as well, he had a hot start to the season but has really been struggling with his shot lately. If he can get that to start falling again that’d be huge.

I'm pretty firmly in the Holtmann must go camp, but for the sake of discussion it's worth noting that the Bucks are the youngest team in the conference.

Missing the little high end coaching strategy that can steal a win when its for the taking. Not in sync on defense on critical in bounds after made ft ‘s.
I love Felix but why in the heck does he have the ball at the top of the key under :30 to go down 1 . Just dumb offensive play.

Rock bottom.
They were up 18 in the second half and end up losing by 3 to a bad Indiana team. Just unreal how bad this has gotten.

May not win again this season
Real problem is that program will be bad next couple years after Holtmann is canned and present players leave via portal and new coach has to rebuild from scratch.
This is on Gene Smith as much as anyone. But at least Holtmann hasn't slugged an opposing coach in his tenure.

The Lantern, the OSU student newspaper, in today's edition called for Holtmann to go.

Looking at their remaining schedule I don’t feel good about any runs coming. Their next two games are Wisconsin and Purdue, most likely going 0-2 there.

OSU needs to master the Hoops version of getting the best coaching staff out there. Once they do that , mimic what the football program does in NIL and upgrade the talent on the roster. I know the hoops will never be what the football programs is —-but The resources are there and the brand can be strong . No excuse to be near the bottom of the Big Ten, because thats where we currently reside in coaching and talent isnt overly special either . Kids on that team that are lower tier D1 .

It’s interesting to see the two top teams in the big ten in football are both at the very bottom in basketball.

From an athletic dept standpoint, clear emphasis and sense of urgency to win in football is not there in hoops. With the resources available, zero reason to be on the bottom of the big ten. I suspect the new AD will look to put his mark on the hoops program with a good hire.

At this point at least i can watch again and not have stomach turn at the situation. Hoping Jake can find a way to get the road loss monkey off our back. Minny is a winnable game for sure.
Really nice surprise win yesterday. Guys played hard, smart and coaches set us up to be in it all the way. Made clutch ft’s to seal it.
