I’m going to keep beating that dead horse, but man how bad was Holtmann holding this team back? Doesn’t even look like the same team these last few weeks.

Ohio St should have been a tournament team. Holtmann is an evil man. The Buckeyes will need a deep Big Ten tourney run to even have a shot. Not much chatter about them even being on the bubble right now.

Ohio St should have been a tournament team. Holtmann is an evil man. The Buckeyes will need a deep Big Ten tourney run to even have a shot. Not much chatter about them even being on the bubble right now. This is from ESPN (fwiw) WIN AND IN:
•TCU vs. Oklahoma (both), Big 12 opening round, Wednesday, 3 p.m. •Mississippi St. (vs. LSU), SEC, Thursday, 1 p.m. •Virginia (vs. Clemson/Boston College/Miami), ACC, Thursday, 9:30 p.m. OUT WITHOUT THIS WIN:
•Wake Forest (vs. Notre Dame/Georgia Tech), ACC, Wednesday, 2:30 p.m. •New Mexico (vs. Air Force), Mountain West, Wednesday, 7:00 p.m. •Villanova (vs. DePaul), Big East, Wednesday, 9 p.m. •Utah (vs. Arizona St.), Pac-12, Wednesday, 11:30 p.m. •St. John's (vs. Seton Hall), Big East, Thursday, 2:30 p.m. •Pittsburgh (vs. Wake Forest/Georgia Tech), ACC, Thursday, 2:30 p.m. •Memphis (vs. Rice/Wichita St.), AAC, Thursday, 2:30 p.m. •Texas A&M (vs. Ole Miss), SEC, Thursday, 7 p.m. • Iowa (vs. Ohio State), Big Ten, Thursday, 6:30 p.m.
•Colorado (vs. Utah/Arizona St.), Pac-12, Thursday, 11:30 p.m. •South Florida (vs. East Carolina/Tulsa), AAC, Friday, 3 p.m. WIN HERE, THEN WIN AGAIN: •Virginia Tech (vs. Florida St.), ACC, Wednesday, noon •Providence (vs. Georgetown), Big East, Wednesday, 6:30 p.m. •Syracuse (vs. N.C. State/Louisville), ACC, Wednesday, 7 p.m. •Kansas State (vs. Texas), Big 12, Wednesday, 7 p.m. • Ohio State (vs. Iowa), Big Ten, Thursday, 6:30 p.m.
•Oregon (vs. UCLA/Oregon St.), Pac-12, Thursday, 5:30 p.m. •UNLV (vs. San Diego St.), Mountain West, Thursday, 5:30 p.m.

I would think that 2 will make it very interesting for OSU in an attempt to get in. There are a cluster of teams in the 55-75 range, as usual. A win vs Iowa and Illinois would give them an extra quad 2 and quad 1 win. That would give them a total of 7 quad quad 1 and 2 wins and really no bad losses to go with a 21-13 overall record. NIT bound without those 2 wins.

OSU got their one win. That was the easy one. Today will be a challenge. OSU has moved into the next four out area on ESPN bracketology. Their net rank is up to 53.
In addition to an OSU win today (which should be enough), OSU fans should root for Virginia to lose to NC State in the NCAA semis and Pitt to lose to UNC in the other ACC semifinal. Kentucky over A and M would be a help too. Marquette over Providence in the Big East and Washington State over Colorado if you are a night owl. And if you like staying up really late, Colorado State over New Mexico (Midnight tip)
If OSU loses, don't worry about the other games, they will be NIT bound.

As a fan, I like going to the NIT and doing better there, Than losing in the tournament, We might get to watch more Buckeye games in the NIT.

Well that’s a tough way to see the season end.
Now a big off-season and see how all the pieces fall.

Bucks took a tough L last night. I have confidence Jake is the right guy. He just needs to clean up the roster a little bit . Lots of speculation on a few guys leaving and also coming in.

Body language would indicate a few may jump in the portal very quickly.
Just guessing.

Meechie is in the portal, speculation of him returning to OSU. Is that good or bad? Lol, I'm not sure. He had a good season at South Carolina, earning 2nd team all SEC honors. But how would he and Thornton co-exist? He also has a cousin at Garfield Heights who is a 4-star recruit. Does bringing Meechie back him bring the cousin at some point? Guess the new coach will have to figure all of that out.

^^^Marcus Johnson was named 1st team All-Ohio for the 2nd year in a row and also named the D1 Player of the Year (as a sophomore), ranked as the 12th best prospect nationally in the 2026 class.

Looks like some think that Meechie is coming back and that Diebler has made an offer to a Princeton shooter.
