Nobody really has a feel for what's about to transpire. This game has a strong potential to land in the 'epic' category. If it get's categorized as such, the Buckeyes came to play what they are capable of, but have not shown, to date.

Sometimes it's good for a player to become "disenchanted". I could encourage those that were never going to make it to enter The Portal and free up a scholarship. That's very true, especially if he is going to be relegated to back up to the back ups. However, sometimes a player that is progressing on course, with the developmental process, doesn't understand that their day is coming and unfortunately, with young players, impatience rules the day.

A lot of disappointments in losing out on some major prospects that had OSU in their final two, along with the decommitments. Can't be too disappointed though, still the 5th best recruiting class in the country and the best recruiting class in the Big Ten. Michigan had a really disappointing recruiting effort, especially with their recent successes on the field to end up with the 20th ranked recruiting class. They countered that with a strong effort in the transfer portal.
My feelings are, delving into and relying on the transfer portal, may have short term benefits, but may prove to be a negative for the program, long term. This easily could create disenchantment within the ranks of the traditional recruited players and get them into the transfer portal mindset. If I'm an athlete that has worked my butt off in the weight room, on the practice field and in the classroom, with hopes and prospects of moving up on the depth chart and perhaps earning significant PT, only to have a transfer player plugged in ahead of me, I'm not going to be a very happy camper. Consequently, coaches are being very carefull how they operate in this new format, especially the elite programs. It's a fine balance of positives vs. negatives, with long term consequences. As if their wasn't enough on their minds to begin with.

I didn't realize we lost Sam Hubbard in the 1st quarter. So, we had both starting CB's and both starting DE's out and still came out 2nd half in dominating fashion. NFL team power ratings have the Bengals #4 in the NFL and that's with a very banged up and injured team The offense is getting players back and near 100%, except for TE Hurst. Hopefully the defense can get some missing players back in these final weeks. Bengals win out, they're looking at a #2 seed by way of SOS, with some help a possible #1 seed.

Interestingly, my grandson who's a Student Assistant for Baldwin Wallace's basketball team, told me a player in one of their games was T'd up for doing the long time infamous index finger to the lips, telling the team/crowd to shhhush. Apparently in their league there's a directive to officials that work their games to crack down on taunting. IMO a good idea, at all levels. A lot of it was never intended to be a part of celebrating good plays in college or professional contests. I agree with the long overdue crackdown on unacceptable behavior. It's always a little heartwarming to see two teams mingling with conversation and hugs postgame, like we saw in Raymond James stadium. Brady and Joe Cool have a mutual respect with one another and were seen shaking hands and having a short conversation afterwards, as well. Zach Taylor continues the locker room spirit, with the traditional awarding of game balls afterwards. The Bengals are the ultimate example of team unity and mutual love among teamates.

After Sunday's 34-23 comeback road win over Tampa Bay, Bengals cornerback Eli Apple and defensive tackle B.J. Hill each took jabs at Brady on their way to the locker room at Raymond James Stadium.
"The future's now old man," Apple said.
"We're fairly tough on defense," Hill added. "Remember that, alright?"
I found Eli's comment innapropriate and disrespectful. Hill's comment was on the mark. Sometimes players run their mouths, wihout thinking. Anything you say, can become chalkboard material at some point in the future.
Stay classy, guys!

Zach Taylor and his staff, like many games previous, made some great half-time adjustments and came out and dominated the Buccaneers 3rd and 4th quarter. They did this with rookie cornerbacks, facing the GOAT.

Last year and this year my grandson has worked for the Browns in a minor capacity. Albeit a new cutting edge technology that will eventually be used at all large events where the purchase of a ticket is required. Too deep to go into here. ALL young sports fans would love this job. He gets paid $100 for each home game and gets to watch most of the game for free. He even got to meet Joe Burrow and Kevin Stefanski. I tell him he should frame one of those $100 checks instead of cashing it. A payroll check from the Cleveland Browns is pretty cool, regardless of the won/loss record. Someday he'll be making a LOT more working for a college or a professional sports team. He's already been contacted by a new large indoor sports facility in Strongsville, trying to convince him not to finish college to run their operation. That's so cool, I wish the young man well with his promising future.

WOW!!! The Browns must have really beat 'em up last week. No doubt, it was a physical game and the Bengals lost another CB in the Bucs game in Taylor-Britt, suspect a collar bone, but hoping it's less serious.

The Bengals took a big hit on defense, with DE Trey Hendrickson and CB Mike Hilton sitting this one out. Rookie Dax Hill will be replacing Hilton, who is the Bengals shutdown corner. CB Jalen Davis is doubtful.
On the offensive side of the ball, WR's Tyler Boyd, Tee Higgins and Trent Taylor are questionable. TE Hayden Hurst is out and Joe Burrow has an issue with his right elbow.
I think we can run effectively against the Tampa defense, so expect a strong game from Samaje Perine and Joe Mixon.

I have to give Who Dey some credit; gone are the days of more arrests than wins This is the NFL. Every team in the NFL has had it's less than proud moments, without exception. Today's Bengals are the closest thing to college innocence and charisma that you will ever see. Heck, Zach Taylor is just out of diapers Ya gotta love the lockeroom moments after each game with the awarding of the team balls. Who, in the NFL even does this these days?

lol.....You caught me before I had a chance to correct it. I think it's Daniel Jones?
If you've watched San Francisco the last two games, Brock Purdy was very impressive and is climbing the QB chart.

According to experts, Ja'maar Chase may be the fastest player in NFL history. Ja'maar was clocked at 21.66 mph on a 57 yd.catch and TD run, in the AFC Championship game against Kansas City. It was the fastest speed reached by any player in a playoff game since play speed began being recorded in 2016. At NFL rookie camp, the 2021 'AFC Rookie of the Year', was clocked at 4.34. He may be the fastest player in NFL history

This team just keeps improving a little bit each week. I know it didn’t look great on offense today but considering two of their best WRs didn’t play, the running game picked it up for sure. Shoutout to the defense who held Cleveland to 6 yards rushing in the 2nd half. Now onto next week at Tampa Bay. They looked really bad against the 49ers who are on their 3rd QB and lost Deebo during the game. As long as the Bengals show up and hopefully get some guys back, I think they’ll be alright. Tampa Bay could be a very dangerous opponent. They are licking their wounds after the embarrassment of the once vaunted offense being shutout into the 4th quarter. On ESPN, someone mentioned for the first time, the Bengals have a remote chance to become the #1 seed, if they run the table.

We see some De Ja vu going on, as this years team is mimicking the upward trending character of last year's Super Bowl team. The big difference however, is an improved defense and dramatically improved offensive line to protect 'Joe Cool', or better yet 'JO-HI-O'. Giving 'Joe Cool' a clean pocket to work out of presents dire consequences for defensive backfields.
The Bengals have now won 5 in a row and 8 of their last ten games. They, very easily could be sitting at 12-1 right now, had the last seconds field goal gone awry in the two 3 point losses and of course the other was the 2 point loss to Baltimore.
Let's hope the two starting receivers that were absent for Cleveland, due to injuries, are able to return the coming week or shortly thereafter. I have nothing but great respect and admiration for the talents of Nick Chubb, a very powerfull and tough runner, but the tandem of Samaje Perine and the full blown return of Joe Mixon, sees the Bengals with a strong running game.

I Became a Nick Saban fan his first and only season coaching the Toledo Rockets.
As I sat in the Glass Bowl in 1990, I remember commenting to my buddy, there's no way Toledo will keep this guy, he's going to be a bigtime college coach in the near future. Nick led the Rockets to a 9-2 record and Co-Champions of the MAC.
It didn't take a genius to make that conclusion and I'm far from being a genius.....lol

Low bar? For who? Good defense starts up front and the Buckeyes have the talent to accomplish some things on that side of the ball. Being much more aggressive is a low bar for OSU if we are measuring them by the sorry aggression they showed against Xichigan. He said they need to be more aggressive and I’m agreeing and saying that won’t be hard given the last game. I agree....thanks for the explanation.
