Shelby 42-34 halftime. Shelby punted twice. VW punted three times. That and the blocked PAT is the current difference. Shelby gets the ball to open the second half.

21-20 Shelby after one. Maybe two punts total. Point differential is because Shelby blocked the first PAT.

Never mind. I just saw the article in the MNJ. That’s a shame for the players. They earned the home field advantage.

Stefanski actually coached a hell of a game until that last 3rd and 3. He is Coaching with a very limited not good ex-XFL QB. The reality of the situation is the Browns are pretenders unless Deshaun figures it out. All Contenders have good QB play, without it you're a pretender. It’s not just for the ending of that game, there has been countless times where he will call stupid plays at bad times. Last week it took us 4th down on the 1 to run the ball and score after 3 straight pass plays. That was because he had no timeouts. If he didn’t get in on a running play down 1-3 then the clock runs out. If your argument is he could get in for sure then great. If he didn’t he wastes the rest of his downs. By calling three passes and one run he got to use all four down.

Did Cleveland ever announce why they let Josh Dobbs go? he’s 1-7 btw so let’s not act like he’s good either. 1-7 with less support. He wasn’t spectacular, but he wasn’t going to hurt you which is all Cleveland needs right now. They need a guy who hits an open receiver and has the good sense to throw it away when everyone is covered. Hand the ball off to a solid running game. Scramble for a few yards when the opportunity arises. He currently has a better QB rating than Joe Burrows with a few games > 100.

I’ve not been a big fan of the expanded playoff format, but as an optimist I’m looking at the silver lining. At no point was the Shelby/CCC game in question tonight. CCC brought 28 fans to the game (I counted - it didn’t take long). Early third quarter their cheerleaders came across the field and started interacting with Shelby’s cheerleaders and cheering section. Before you knew it they were having a blast. Cheering, dancing, singing. These are two different worlds. Rural Ohio and intercity Cleveland. They have so little in common, but a seemingly meaningless football game made a connection in an increasingly divided world. Best part of the night. That was, by far, the highlight of the evening. The cheerleaders from both teams, the Shelby student body and band had a blast as did the fans who witnessed it. Makes one feel that maybe there is a chance for this world after all. Kudos to all and thanks to fan as well who assisted on an emergency situation in the crowd as well. The best part of humanity was on display Friday night Thanks. By the time I ran up there I wasn’t sure whether to put the oxygen on him or me.

Shelby 19-0 after one. First TD failed conversion on some trickeration. Failed on the second trying to make up for the first. Finally kicked the third PAT.

There has to be a pattern otherwise nobody would know what the play was. If you watch a whole game you can determine the pattern. It’s not the Enigma machine or encrypted otherwise the average college football player could never figure it out.

My point is we KNOW what happens when you let him get the ball. I hope OSU has other options. If I were a D coordinator I’d make them prove it.

Until the last drive Penn State’s offense only had 30 more yards than Harrison. Why wouldn’t you triple team him and make someone else beat you?
Penn State’s quarterback’s accuracy is 💩. The state of Ohio won in that trade.

Shelby 23-0 after three. Three Shelby TD’s with one missed PAT. One TD was a pick six. Either Shelby made some incredible adjustments or MP just decided they were ready for basketball. I’m not sure they have a second half first down.

Shelby’s new stadium is great, but I loved Skile’s right downtown. It was falling apart. I drove through Shelby a few weeks ago and it was kinda sad to see the old stadium has been torn down. Anyone know what if anything is planned for that location? I know flooding is an issue there. The school district gave it to the city so they wouldn’t need to maintain it. With all the stuff they’ve done downtown with Blackfork Commons there were rumors of a walking path with some stops along the way for outdoor “exercise.”

Willard may have been good for fans because it was so close, but I had to assist an official who lost his MCL at a minimum because there was no room on the visitor’s side to get out of the way of a sweep around that end.
Sandusky was cool if you weren’t so far away from the action.
Norwalk in the NOL days was awful. It was always a swamp.
It’s better since the turf, but the crown on Madison’s field was so high from the sidelines you could only see the other team from the waist up. It was significantly downhill to run from the middle of the field to the sidelines.

This Cleveland team is showing everyone how important defense is.
I bet Watson shows up next week. The running game is back. He just has to not screw up. He likes a low bar.

It also has to be noted Shelby scored on fourth and long from somewhere around Ontario’s 40 on a hook and ladder. Pass to Lance on a skinny post on the left and lateraled to Ramsey coming all the way from the right.

I rescind my previous comment about the officials. They’re bad. The difference in penalties is now statistically unlikely.
7:17 left. Ontario 31-29.

The officials have made some bad calls, but Shelby is also shooting itself in the foot. I’d guess almost 100 yards in penalties. I think Ontario has one roughing the passer.

Shelby was up 15 mid second quarter (went for two on their third TD). They faked a punt on fourth down in Ontario territory. The pass was catchable, but there were two receivers in the area and the one it was thrown to thought it was to the other receiver. Ontario puts up a quick score. Then Shelby’s drive stalls and Ontario gets another chance and scores again. Shelby stalls once more and Ontario finishes the half with a 37 yard FG.
