I am all in on this new site, so many better features and options. Hope we can build a sustainable membership base. We were able to do so the first time around and now that the SBC and NOL are combining, we may get a little more participation. It remains to be seen.

I don't EVER watch the NBA... But the last game peaked my interest enough to become a band wagon Cavs fan... LOL!
So here I am at the start of the 4th quarter posting my first post in the NBA forum since we were NOSF!!! And maybe my fifth or sixth NBA post ever.

I saw a little of the backlash posted to the web though. Glad to hear they aren't from Bellevue and the disdain for them was pretty intense based on their convict pics...

Pretty funny huh ladies ( and I use that term loosely....) First Bellevue has a guy doing the nasty with a picnic table, and now these three sweethearts. Another sad day for that town in the spotlight...

Ali in his youth was the best, from what I have seen. Tyson was the "Clubber Lang" of his generation and definitely NOT someone I would want to meet in the ring...but Ali was just another class above. (Please, I'm not an Ali fan by any stretch of the imagination. I agree with most of what is published about him above by 68 Champs and Whittaker. Even as a kid, I thought he was pretty much a turd, but there is no argument when he stepped in the ring.) His later fights are the ones that got ugly and slow when he began running his infamous "rope-a-dope" to tire out his younger opponents... It wasn't boxing then, but rather a means to an end.

We typically use hotels.com. Pay for 10 nights and get one free (I used due to a lot of wrestling weekends in various cities and states...)

Chance Ehrnsberger, Ohio State recruit, of Sandusky places 3rd at the state meet in the shot put - 59-11.75 And 3rd in the discus as well. My surprise was that in looking at the results, Shane Pack from Upper Sandusky placed 7th at the state meet as a junior in the low 160s.... Very nice. I didn't even know my alma mater had a thrower.

This might be my moment of stupidity and I don't ever watch reality TV, but for several years now I have watched and completely been entranced by this TV show. I don't watch other talent shows, but have been singularly consumed every summer by catching or recording and watching each episode. I actually enjoy my mental lapse from reality so much, that I look forward to this show airing each week. As well, where else can you watch top quality talent like this 82 year old aerospace engineer singing "Grunge Rock..."

Schindler's List... hands down for me. I know why it's hard to watch again, but in your own words, why? I remember being terribly bothered by some of the scenes.... I own the movie and have never watched it again. While I think it is terribly important that we understand what happened and why it happened, it's not something that I choose to watch on any kind of regular basis. Here in Detroit, we have a Holocaust Museum that is huge for taking kids classes too, but I have never been there and I'm not sure that I will ever choose to go there. What man can do to man without mercy or concern, is what I think bothers me the most. I'm not a light weight, but the unrelenting lack of humanity really bothers me.

It's summer...vacation time...drive time. I have no proof, but it sure seems that would be the best time to dig into the consumers pocket. Who's gonna tell little Johnny that he can't go on vacation this summer?

I gassed up at $1.95 in Fostoria the other day and drove by the same Circle K later that evening and it was $2.28 Now it's dropping again $2.18 in Findlay. What's up with Toledo these days? Customarily the lowest prices in the state. Not the case lately as current prices at the pump in Toledo range from $2.39 to $2.60! This is just Michigan leaking over the border....that's all...

I was surprised by it, but I actually got to like Blue Moon, with a slice of orange, too... Or Corona with lemon, or a Shocktop Lemon Shandy, or Heineken with a lime... LOL, any of a myriad of fruity beer flavors.

I know it has become climate change, but I wanted to point out that freezing rain in Cleveland on May 15th is pushing it a bit... And snow just north of me in the Detroit metro area this morning... Enough is enough.

American domestic beers basically suck, with a few exceptions of Yuengling lager, Sam Adams and a list of American craft brews. I lifted myself from the abomination of 'light' beers years ago. I like all beers for the most part. Most domestics are kind of lame, however, I do like Coors and PBR. Both harkin to a time in my life when things were simpler and just a drink of either bring back memories. My father was a lifelong PBR drinker and my first drink of PBR always takes me back to about 8 years old and getting a sip of Dad's beer. It's an ingrained memory that I hope I never lose. That being said, I'm not much of a Yuengling person, however, I do occasionally buy Sam Adams. I have found myself really liking most of the Leinenkugel beers tho... If nothing else, the name is at least fun to say..

I still wont buy it. My taste buds hate me sometimes, but I have an affinity to PBR.

I don't think posting a name for any kid who is excelling would ever be an issue, especially when talking in regards to meet placement which is reported on by the local papers as well. We just don't want people taking cheap shots at a kid. That's not OK, because after all, they are still kids. However, if we want to take cheap shots at each other......

I'm not a huge grunge metal guy... As a matter of fact, I don't own a single metal album, even from the precursor big hair metal groups of the '80s, but I really like this version of the "Sound of Silence." The deep raspy voice singing what I always felt was kind of a delicate song originally done by Simon and Garfunkel...and I liked their version. The singer is David Draiman and he has a peculiar brand of vocal strength and range that gives the song a really different sound. I really find myself having to listen to this song multiple times.
Take a listen below...
