Wow. Never want to see an injury like that. Hopefully we'll get good news about Armstrong in a bit.

Norwalk finished the season strong. Proud of their efforts! The exciting point is that we only lose two runners - Bores & Berry. Three of the top 5 runners the last couple of weeks were sophomores. The team has several underclassmen looking to step up and fill those shoes. Looking for great things these next couple years!
Congrats to Anderson!
Looking forward to track season . . . indoor season just around the corner!

Norwalk was without Sara Staley. She tried to play on the ankle, but during warm-ups realized it wasn't going to work. Kudos to her for the attempt. Tough night for all the Ladies in Blue.

Can't help myself . . . As my husband (the Browns fan) stated, "This somes up our season perfectly!"
During the first half, fans sitting in the "Dawg Pound" section of the stadium attempted to unfurl a three-piece banner that said "Dawg Pound."
But in quintessential Brownsian fashion, the three signs were mixed up and instead read "GPODAWUND."

Congratulations to Norwalk boys - they placed third at the district meet in Galion today to advance to regionals next weekend.
Lexington placed first in the Division 2 race, followed by Edison, Norwalk, and Perkins. Great to see so many area schools do so well in this race!
Ethan Bores ran a personal best 16:43 followed by Julian Go with a personal best of 16:45.

No ejections - just a heated game - this is a good rivalry. Willard received 2 personal fouls and Norwalk one.

30 - 19 Final
Willard always brings a good game against Norwalk. After a slow start for Norwalk, they came back in the second half to take charge. Unfortunately, an injury took Brandon Haraway out of the game. Hopefully just a shake up and he'll be ready next week.

Thank you Austin for your work in keeping us up to date this season! It takes time to go to the different sources to gather times as you did this season! Hopefully we have quite a few NOL representatives in the post season. Fun to watch.
Is Anderson (from Tiffin) a sophomore or junior? I remember watching him set the middle school record a few years ago - but wasn't sure how long ago. He's impressive to watch - especially liked the way he came to cheer on some teammates when he finished today.

I agree with your predictions austin. Shelby and Norwalk will make it a good race - both teams have a lot of depth, though I think Norwalk has a slight edge. I hope Friebel and Green are able to compete - you hate not having the best runners compete - especially in a high stakes competition.
Right now the weather forecast looks ideal - 60's and no rain at race time. Hopefully that remains.
I think the girls' race could be interesting as well. Obviously, I look for Bellevue to win it - but I think spots 2, 3, and 4 could be up for grabs. Norwalk girls hopefully will surprise some people - they've come on strong these last couple of weeks - only having 8 runners total - due to injuries. If they are healthy - I look for them to earn their highest placing in many years.

Urban Meyer - approve LeBron James - approve (his character alone - show me a pro athlete that has done more for the kids in his community - Wow!) Chief Wahoo - approve the Cleveland Browns (as much as I tease my husband (a Brown's fan) for the reasons listed above - a pro team is a different specimen than a college team)

We got to go to the game at BG. Weird start. About 2:30 (3:00 game start) the teams were sent off the field and the fans sent out of the seats - under stadium or back to cars due to severe weather in the area. At this time - their were blue skies above the stadium with clouds in the area. Listening to one of the security guards - apparently lightning had been spotted 8 miles away so the officials called the delay. We were allowed back in about 2:57, and the game started at 3:27.
Breck had a lot of carries yesterday and looked good! 17 carries for 107 yards and one touchdown. It was exciting to see an area player do so well!
Also neat was Sandusky brought 4 busloads of kids to watch Mike Brown - a redshirt Senior (4year letterwinner) at EMU. He made his presence known with a tackle and a couple of breakups.

A muddy day at the Clay Eagle Invite! No rain during the races though - thankfully.
Norwalk boys placed 2nd in the DI race with an average time of 17:35 - despite a couple of their varsity runners not competing yesterday.
Ethan Bores placed 5th overall with a time of 17:02. Julian Go was next for Norwalk at 17:12; followed by Owen Lottman - 17:45, Bobby Vazquez - 17:54, Cole Berry - 18:05, Cobey Kromer - 18:06, Matt Neuberger - 18:31, and Mitchell Sommers - 18:43.
Congrats also to the girls' team that placed 3rd in the D2 race! Their average time was 22:44 and their top 5 runners all ran under 24 minutes! Four girls in the top 20 - their top 6 runners in the top 30.

I never said he wasn't a legit quarterback. What I said was that without a line to protect your QB and receivers to consistently catch passes - then he still wouldn't help the Browns. Heck - a Hall of Famer couldn't help under the same conditions. You've got to protect your QB. . . recent history shows the Browns don't. I agree with Galion - had the Browns drafted Wentz - he would most likely not be playing or playing at the same level. The Browns (for whatever reason) have a history of not protecting their QB. That is one of my husband's biggest complaints about his team - he is a very loyal Browns fan and just can't fathom why they can't put together the right team with all of the chances and choices they've had. Wentz certainly played very well against a horrible looking Steelers team on Sunday. It was very interesting seeing all of the comparisons between Wentz and Big Ben leading up to the game. Similar size, similar styles, similar small school size. Sunday's difference? I'm not sure - Philly came prepared & amped to play. Pittsburgh - ugh!!! Wentz did deliver on the hype - so yes - I'd definitely say that 3 weeks into the season he is a legit QB.

No problem. It does seem weird to have that week off - but looking back over previous seasons - Norwalk has taken that week between our last meet and NOLs. Do other schools do that?

So funny - one of the news stations had this on this morning and the one anchorman couldn't stop laughing. His partner had to take over. They said she was a photographer, and she didn't suffer any injuries - other than to her pride. Glad she didn't fall on her camera.

That happened to many of Norwalk's runners. There were about 20 runners in that boys' race that made a wrong turn. That happened 2 years ago in one of the girls' races. You'd think they would have spotters in there to direct at those crossover areas. It can be confusing - especially when you're caught up in a pack.
Norwalk's top two runners are consistently Go & Bores. #'s 3 - 7 are a toss-up among Mohr, Kromer, Lottman, Berry, Hipp, Neuberger, etc. The nice thing is our depth allows the team to keep it close - even when we lose a couple of runners. Coach has the top 10 runners so close in time now. Should make for a very fun league meet!
