Ohio state flipped 4 star QB Dwan Mathis from Michigan state. They also may be getting a commitment soon from Arizona QB Jack Miller for the next class. QB will be all set for years to come with Baldwin coming in as a freshman this fall too. Don’t worry sportsjock, we’ll be just fine I love everything about Mathis flipping to OSU. Urban takes an instate QB Harbaugh doesn’t want which in turn screws Sparty and sets their fans off. Win for me The Buckeyes can breathe a little easier, with the flip of Dwan Mathis. QB was an area of great concern. It's really cool that we go into the heart of Spartan/Wolverine country and snatch this kid. We can bet Dantonio is furious....lol This one is deeply satisfying.

Don’t worry sportsjock, we’ll be just fine Dwan Mathis pro-style QB, Jack Miller pro-style is making the indications that Wilson/Day are in the process of transforming the Ohio State offense into a more traditional, pocket passing team and relegating the read option to an insignificant portion of the offensive plan of attack. Don't plan on Baldwin to provide much, quite yet. He's still getting the kinks out after surgery rehab. RB, my concern levels have diminished significantly the past few days....lol

Well, FNL (Friday Night Lights) has come and gone. In the past, the event has generated a number of commitments in the following 24 hrs. This recruiting year continues to puzzle Buckeye followers and experts. Recruiting for the 2019 class started off at a snails pace and continues to plod along with low enthusiasm. After completing the greatest recruiting class in school history, no one expected this. The new early signing period.

I get what you are saying, but it doesn't seem to have effected many other programs who loaded up early. I'm thinking with the early signing period, it increases the importance of coming fast out of the gate, because it seems this year a good share of blue chippers got snatched up early.

Unless you're a real 5 Star, Urban has never offered early. He likes to see them at his camp before their Senior year OR see their Senior film. A LOT fewer mistakes are made that way. There aren't that many REAL 5 Stars out there. Most REAL 5 Star players ARE offered by Ohio State. The vast majority have favorites that aren't Ohio State. If they aren't from the Mid-west. Ohio State has a hard time getting them out of SEC country, out of Texas, or the west coast.

That is true, the coaches put a high emphasis of grading the kids in person, at their camps.

Michigan State picks up 5* OT #13 player in country Davonte Dobbs tonight over Ohio State and Michigan. Dantonio gets even with Urban. Dobbs was all Michigan until Michigan didn’t offer his boy Julian Barnett fast enough for his liking. He also goes to a School with a premadonna for a head coach.
He’s also severely over rated by the services. At 6’4 he’s a guard not a tackle and his camp performances have been dreadful. There’s a video from his last performance at the opening. In one rep he’s easily beaten inside and the next he’s bull rushed and thrown to the ground.

Ohio State gets a few from Texas and SEC country, the vast majority stay home.

Dudette, according to 247 Composite for the 2018 class. The following schools signed the following number of players from Texas high schools
Texas 19 Baylor 17 Texas A&M 15 TCU 14 Oklahoma State 13 Oklahoma 9 Arkansas 9 LSU 3 Ohio State 2
There were two 5 Stars from Texas, Texas got them both
Once again you've been "owned".

You can't ignore the fact that the only cold weather, northern school on the list is 'Ohio State'. That in itself is worth mentioning. Urban Meyer has tapped the state of Texas well during his tenure at Ohio State. If you analyze the recruiting classes under Meyer, they are consistently balanced geographically. The west coast being the rare occurrence.

That's not the entire list. Just pointing out it is a a HUGE misnomer to say "we own Texas". Texas and to some extent surrounding states, REALLY owns Texas.
Missouri had 10, Texas Tech 16, Houston 18. Five more schools from the south-west had 11 or more from Texas. Four schools further from Texas than Ohio State had 1 or 2 recruits from Texas.
Ohio State should do far better than a couple of Texas kids a year, due to the history of it's program and it's current successes compared to any schools in and around the state of Texas. Texas had 52 of the top 100 high school players in the country, Ohio had 12.

You purport to know more than 247 Composite?? You think way too highly of yourself. OR once again you are incapable of reading at a 4th graded level. AGAIN, in the 2018 class Texas had 52 of the countries Top 100 recruits. Ohio State got none of them, they all stayed in the south-west
In the 2017 class, don't tell Okudah, Browning or the experts that you think Dobbins is going to get drafted higher than they are. They would all "Woot" right up your underling ars.
YOU are my "boy", I "own" you.

Texas is big for HIGH SCHOOL football but OSU gets what we need/want from them. As well as every other state. Our Texas recruits help make us a winner but if having the most recruits from Texas made you a winner then the Texas colleges would be better represented in the playoffs. As of yet, the only thing Texas has done for the playoff series is been a game host.

Bad liver and onions. All of those schools listed signed 4 Star players from Texas. They signed more players from Texas then Ohio State signed from Ohio. Don't get sillier and bring up 3 Star players. Ohio State signs 3 star players. Even you would have to admit, the ability to get diamonds in the rough that get drafted makes a good class. PAY ATTENTION for once in your life. In 2018 Texas had 52 of the top 100 players in the country. Ohio State got NONE of those 52. How is that in your so succinct words, "we own Texas"? Baylor's class was ranked ahead of Ole Miss, Michigan State, Oklahoma State, Missouri, Arizona State, West Virginia, Minnesota, Stanford, Iowa, Wisconsin, Arkansas, Purdue, Indiana and Northwestern. They had 3 higher ranked players from Texas than Ohio State's highest ranked player from Texas, who I bet will be the next QB transfer from Ohio State, desperate QB offer Mathew Baldwin.

You are still so blind and deaf. As I said MANY TIMES. I support ALL Ohio State starters, coaches and their decisions. I will be a Haskins backer when wishy washy haters of your ilk lay 100% of the blame on him when Ohio State loses games and call for Martel.

Don't be afraid, stand up and be a man. All I did was take a logical look at the QBs Ohio State has now and the future and make a prediction. You've never made predictions??? After Haskins we have Martel who was THE #1 player in the country in his class. If you remember, Baldwin was a last minute addition. What about the QB stolen from MSU? His tape looks like he's a heck of an athlete. In the 2020 class Ohio State is the leader and is expecting a commit in the next month from Jack Miller from Arizona, the #3 ranked QB in that class. Who as a Freshman threw for almost 3700 yards and SEVENTY-THREE touchdowns. A logical prediction, but only a prediction not a statement of fact. Baldwin could be an oddity in the day of QBs who threaten to transfer if they aren't the starter by the time they're a red shirt Sophomore. Stay at Ohio State all the way from Texas, not care if he never plays and gets his undergraduate and masters degree in 5 years.

I can see the possibility, but any speculation as to how this QB circus is going to pan out, is a bit premature at the moment. The coming seasons quarterbacking scenario will be at the forefront of topics. For right now, I'm just hoping and praying Haskins stays healthy the entire season, because no matter how talented a team may be, an unsteady QB situation can be devastating to the seasons fortunes. Next year we will have more experience at QB and a better situation with player depth. Haskins must stay healthy, because Martel and Baldwin are not quite ready to take over that responsibility IMO.

Most likely Ohio State won't have more experience at QB next year. Based on what I've heard, if Ohio State wins 11+ games this year Haskins is gone. What do you put the odds on Ohio State winning fewer than 11?

If he takes the bad advice and leaves with a mere years experience, good luck with that.

Definately, adds a huge fortification of the outstanding efforts and results of OL recruiting. Give big credit to OL coach Studrawa. “I love coach Stud and his energy,” Johnson said. “He is very passionate. The strength coach was also one of my favorite people I met today. [They] all gave my mom and I a fantastic visit and showed us great hospitality.” Two highly rated offensive tackles in the early development of the 2020 class (Georgia tackle Jack Wray) is a great foundation, in what could be another year that could mirror the great 2018 class.

Still, no way do "we own Texas".
