Just wait until Buckeye Valley gets a whif of the crowds the MSL schools bring...or don’t. They can be pretty putrid. They will take a financial bath. Big losses. Columbus people don't want to drive north if Delaware for a game. Ever. North Union not as much, but they will lose gate as well. Their decisions. Hope their Boards have an extra $20,000-$30,000 per annum to help bail out their Athletic Departments. Will start draining the General Fund. Those MSL schools don’t bring crowds when the games are in the Columbus area let alone out. I’d say they’d compare to more of a city league type following.

Does anyone think they made this change to sell more tickets? Do we think they will lose $20,000-$30,000 in ticket sales?

The talk of Highland not being happy in the KMAC is probably strictly "Highland Football" not being happy in the KMAC. That sport in particular is ready move on, they spent their time rebuilding 2011-2016 and now it's gotten to the point to where (no disrespect intended) but playing in the KMAC helps them none. Sure it's a breezy league title. They can stack their non league schedule or their scrimmages all they want 1.) you can truly never predict how your non league selection will fair out 2.) they still have to go weeks 4-10 playing Div 5-7 schools and only 2 of those at the time are a solid Div 5-7 school and if they happen to win 8-10 BAM play a division 4 playoff caliber school. This past year a few (not all, nor the majority) but enough of the team took a nap after week 6 and it just about costed them the game with Fredericktown, let EK compete with them more then they should have and did cost them the Northmor game. That's the kind of stuff that happens when your toughest day is Tuesday and not Friday. They played inspired early in the year and were able to squeeze out a win vs an at the time fully healthy Ontario squad and then shutout an excellent Danville offense. (Yes I know Danville is D7, but nonetheless they were a final 4 team and that's the only time Danville has had the goose egg put up on them since 2010) we did not see that exact inspired team again the rest of the year. You don't beat Danville 26-0 and then barely squeeze out 34 points against Centerburg. Struggle more than should with the Freddies, allow East Knox to compete and then totally drop the ball with Northmor. If they move the MOAC would they struggle or be mediocre in football? This year I'm not answering, this specific year could be a lightning in a bottle year, but after this year sure they would need to build. But that's kind of been how their program has worked since the drop off of 2011 anyways.. They've slowly raised the bar, achieved new things, and raised it some more. Now there's nothing more to achieve in the KMAC so they are probably ready to move on. Totally forget everything I just posted though because every other single sport at Highland is perfectly happy continuing to beat the same teams (the few that actually win that is)every year and fizzle out at the same point in the postseason each year not gonna name any names, but VOLLEYBALL and hell some of the sports despite being a bigger school still cant win the league won't name any names there either, but BASKETBALL. Baseball is probably in the same boat as football considering their non league schedule, however, they did the drop ball last season and 2 seasons ago as well.

Does highland have swimming? If not a school their size may wish to at some point.

No they don't have swimming. They do have golf though (not very good) and the KMAC does recognize golf as well. I disagree with the "need" for a swimming team or perhaps you have a point of view that I'm not seeing.

I believe that I used the word "wish" not "need". But my point is that as a district grows in numbers as Highland is, so does the diversity of interests within the student body. A point that I tried to make in another post was that the number of agriculturally based jobs in the district has likely not changed much. So where is the "new" population coming from? Most likely you have people settling there now who work in the Colunbus area with more of a suburb type attitude. That's why there is a soccer team now, and ultimately it will also lead to a swimming program in the future. When I graduated from OWU in 1991 Olentangy only had one school. Both Olentangy and Buckeye Valley were rural districts with little difference than that of CC and Northmor. Then the school districts grew from an influx of the Columbus area workforce. This is similar to what Highland is experiencing now.

Highland's growth in numbers is due to surrounding school not being able to run satisfactory special education programs and many of those kids having to transfer to Highland.

You did say "wish" not "need." My bad. Maybe Highland should try being one of those schools that a head coach uses as stepping stone to go to a far superior program.

They have had a club soccer team since 2009. The numbers and interest have been there for awhile. Where do you get your facts from? Or is this one of those things like in the fall when you claimed that Meachie Johnson was faster then Becker because Meechie went state in LONG JUMP?

PS just curious does that toolbag with the Michigan tatoo still coach junior high football at Galion? Or did coach Dick do his program a favor and get rid of him?

1. There must be one hell of a lot of special ed kids in the area for that to be true. You might want to get the well water tested. 2. 2009 is not that long ago. I'm sure that interest didn't come from the farms and pick up soccer games after milking the cows. 3. I have no earthly idea who the ms football coaches at Galion are. I have all daughters so I haven't paid attention the middle school football since I was in middle school. Most years watching the varsity play football is painful enough.

The talk of Highland not being happy in the KMAC ......... So is it safe interpret from your post that you feel Highland is not looking to leave the KMAC and would not be an option to replace BV in the MOAC anytime soon?

So who is team 8 in the MOAC in 2019? OR do we go down the path of getting 3 to go to 10?

Shelby replaces North Union I believe. If the OCC does start to break up then Lexington and maybe Madison are in play. As has been discussed. I still think that would be good if the MOAC coul sway Upper Sandusky into the fold. That could be a nice league. However I still think the SBC is the league that is where the Minutemen and the Rams may end up. I have seen where Lex has picked up Sandusky for next season on there basketball schedule. That puts Sandusky, Norwalk, and Clyde for next year. So it looks like they are maybe trying develope a relationship with those schools. Or it could be that they are just beefing up there schedule because they have most of there team coming back next year and should be pretty good.

The SBC only has room for 2 more in the lake without bumping someone down into the bay. Sr, Mad, and Lex are all in play for those 2 spots. I just don't see the bay being too accepting of either Perkins or Bellevue being thrust upon them.

I would have said no chance at first but if they are going to get bumped into the bay division in football anyway then I suppose that they might be in play

I think he means who is replacing BV. Shelby replaces NU. The flashes of Willard... What's the advantage for Willard to make that move? Even if bumped up a division in the SBC they would still be playing schools closer to their size and probably have less travel. The MOAC would possibly offer longer drives and bigger schools.
