Send Lex to the MOAC when BV leaves and bring in Dover and NP. Problem solved.

BTW, the Mansfield Supt changed his vote on Medina Buckeye with the OCC and Buckeye was invited. They are going to the league schools to see their facilities during the next 2 weeks and then they will make a decision whether or not to accept the invite.

Grapevine says that Madison has reached out to the SBC to get more details on the results of joining.

Dude, I think that maybe the SBC would take Fremont Ross instead of Madison if it came down to it. I really don't think Sandusky, Perkins or maybe even Clyde would want to make that trip down there, defiantly doing the winter at least 3 times a year. That's my take on this. Oh, I know Sandusky used to play Mansfield Sr. when they played in the Buckeye Conference and what other conference they were in together. But that was before the 70's and maybe the 80's when gas was a lot cheaper than now.

Send Lex to the MOAC when BV leaves and bring in Dover and NP. Problem solved. Your administration at Galion has made it clear that they will never vote for Lexington to join. Never.

Bullshit! Name any member of our administration that has said this. Go ahead be specific. I know none of the ones I've spoken to have any problem with it so be careful whose name you pull out of your backside.

Will be interested to see if they say the same thing I was told. Not that it matters. Your plan won’t happen anyway.

What part of "none of the ones I've spoken to" don't you understand? I ask for specifics to back up your statement and you reply with "ask them yourself"? Seriously, what reason would Galion have to refuse entry to Lex should they apply? Were you at least "told" that? Are you a journalist? Do you need to protect your sources?

I can assure you Mansfield Madison and Senior both would be accepted before Fremont in SBC. King, Is Fremont's enroll growing or shrinking. If it's shrinking like I was told, and I don't remember who told me this, then I think the SBC would invite you in the Lake Division. I think Norwalk wouldn't mine, considering we use to be in the same league long, long time ago. I think it was the Little Big Six, or something like that, back in the late 1900's to late 20's or 30's, maybe. Sandusky would love to have you in being you guy's are BIG RIVAL'S. I know Tiffin Columbian plays you once in awhile in football and Bellevue is never afraid to take on anybody in football. I admit that I don't know Clyde or Perkins on there thought on this but I hope they would take you in. I also do admit that I might be wrong on some of these schools but not all. I would love to have you in the conference and I love that stadium of yours, not the parking, but the stadium. Where else can somebody who can not climb stairs, like my wife couldn't at the time because of a knee replacement, can take an elevator to your seat. I hope to see Fremont very soon in the SBC and make us all stronger again for the tourney's and have the whole state talk about our conference.

Fremont's enrollment is the primary issue and they are not shrinking, compared to the other schools in the SBC-L. No one in the Lake wants Fremont for that reason. The Bay schools may voice they are fine with it because it keeps them in the Bay but for the strength of the entire conference, it will not happen anytime soon. There is some unity in that group as a whole. Sandusky and TC may play them in football (TC again in 19) but they do not want to be married to them in a league/conference/division. It's a nice non-conference game.
Take Sandusky for instance, they have their best team (2017) in a long, long time and it takes a miracle end of the game series of events for them to beat Fremont by one point.

It was called the Little Big Seven/Six/Five/Four depending on how many members were in it at the time, and here are the schools that were in it: Elyria Pioneers (1911–26) Lorain Steelmen (1911–26) Norwalk Truckers (1911–44) Sandusky Blue Streaks (1911–34) Bellevue Redmen (1912–44) Fremont Ross Little Giants (1912–34) Oberlin Indians (1921–37) Tiffin Columbian Tornadoes (1927–34) Willard Crimson Flashes (1927–44) Port Clinton Redskins (1934–44)

King, I'm sorry but someone told me your enrollment was shrinking and I wish I could remember who told me that so I can straighten him out but I am still hoping that you could be in our conference. I knew at one time Norwalk would scrimmage you in football and I'm not sure but I think we still do in basketball. I know we play each other in 5th. and 6th. grade football and yes that is elementary and not high school but to me it still is important because that is where we teach the kids on how to play the game right but usually we have some great hard hitting games with you guys and some of the best games ever played too. I would love to see us play football in high school, maybe when our contract ends against Norwayne which is starting this coming year, 2nd. game in the season, we could latch on to you guys and have some great games and memorable plays. It would help us to become a better team and would help both of us out with less travel time and great gate receipts. And maybe start another great rivalry. What do you think about this until we could get you into the conference. I hold your thoughts very highly and very much welcome your opinion.

My grandfather would tell me about those games because he was on the Norwalk's teams at those times.

How so Dude, I welcome your opinion on this so we can find out what our different is. Because the SBC has already communicated with Madison and not Ross. Well, I'll be a suck egg, add your own words here for me, I did not know that they did that already. I heard talks but I did not know that it was starting to maybe get serious about it. I still rather have Ross in our fold because it would be very interesting and exciting in our sports programs here. We are all close together where Madison is out in left field. No body has a relationship with them. the only one was Shelby and they are leaving our league for better pastures that are closer to home for them. If I could vote on this I would vote no on Madison joining. It would not be good for the league or for Madison at all. I hope you can see where I am coming from on this. Dude, Again thank you for the information and always I welcome your opinion.

So if I read you correctly you are saying a school that is almost 100 boys larger than you, in the 3 grades counted, is a better fit because they are 7 miles closer to your school. I can understand that as I have always been a fan who looks to the location and competition of schools in leagues more than I do the enrollment to disqualify them.

Thank you Dude for understanding on my thoughts. My old high school that I went to, not by choice, is Western Reserve and I seen them having good seasons in football but no play-offs because they are a big boy in a small conference. They don't get the points for beating up small teams. I like Ross and think they would be a great access to the Lake. They would give us a great challenge and make us better so we can get to the playoffs each and every years.

Madison's interest in the SBC is real! Will be interested to see how the SBC sees this fit and if they accept them, who (if any) will also follow suit (Senior, Lex, Ashland).

Is all this just to get away from the trip to West Holmes?

It sounds like there is one school who is leaving that preempted Madison's interest in SBC. My guess is Mount Vernon looking elsewhere but that's just a guess.

Sounds like it is a little more than that. Everyone wants an 8th teams but the current 7 cannot agree on who it should be. The mistake IMO was not accepting Shelby when it was put to a vote.

Interesting that Madison would be looking at the SBC. To me that says they think there is a good chance the OCC as we know it might be done.

I still wonder why would Madison would want to join the SBC. They would more than likely be put in the Lake Division and the nearest school to them would be Norwalk and to me that seems to be a trip for them.

That's what it looks like. I'm just not sure where that leaves everyone else. I still see a situation that Ashland, Wooster and West Holmes go east. I know people continue to think Ashland won't ever leave the Mansfield area teams, but if things start to fall apart Ashland would much rather be with Wooster then Mansfield. All that said, I'm not sure why anyone would be in a rush to leave. Things aren't that bad in the OCC.

This may progress quickly. It would be assumed any serious interest would be vetted in the next couple of months to be finalized before the end of the school year. That would allow for a 2020, if not 2019, move.
