Howwever, they did apply to join the OCC as did Clear Fork. Clear Fork was favored by the Mansfield area teams as long as they put a significantly larger set of bleachers on the visitors side for football.

Mansfield Senior AD has been put on Administrative Leave. Misuse of funds as union treasurer to the tune of around $20,000. Stay tuned!

Clear Fork never applied, we received an invitation to join a new forming league that we responded to. We were told that the 7 schools forming the OCC sent 2 invitations looking for an 8th school and the first to reply would be favored. Clear Fork replied, Triway never did. The new bleachers were a part of the facility project that included the all weather track and other improvements.

The OCC's first year of competition was 2003-2004 with 7 schools. They were looking for a 8th member. I distinctly remember both Clear Fork and Triway being in the running for 8th spot after the Mohican Area Conference broke up. Triway was favored by Eastern schools. The seating on the visitors side of Clear Fork's football field was an issue for the OCC. The Clear Fork Administration assured them that issue would be addressed. Thus Clear Fork got the 8th spot over Triway in the 2nd year. The following year Triway joined the PAC, which they could have joined the previous year.

Yes the OCC started playing in 2003 with 7 schools. While they were forming they had contacted West Holmes, Triway and us all at the same time from the MAC. We were on limited time with only 6 teams and everyone was looking to go somewhere. Holmes decided to go OCC right away which left 5 desperately searching. Triway was not ready to play a full schedule of Wooster sports so they kept looking for a place. We liked the more local teams but agreed with the remaining MAC schools to finish our schedules that had already been set for the 2003-04 seasons. We accepted the OCC offer in the summer of 2003 and the OCC schools voted to make it official a month or so later. Triway and Timken were accepted into the PAC who had 2 teams leaving in 2005 but had always been a league of 7. As a booster we had started looking at an all weather track while in the MAC. We had already started the drive for the track process before joining the OCC. Bleachers were a part of the changes. Home side bleachers were also talked about but after a quick town vote we saved the hill and some money.

I remember when the OCC started football Lexington already had Clear Fork plugged into the schedule and it was known they were joining the OCC before that game.

Clear Fork was a non-league game for Lexington in the first year of the OCC in 2003

We had been talking about this move long before the Lexington game that season. We already knew we were going to the OCC before school started. It just needed to be confirmed in meetings.

Everyone in the OCC knew Clear Fork was joining before the OCC ever started playing.

I talked to an administrator about this and they said they have figures on the Union Funds that were stolen but are still working on the possible funds that were stolen from the Athletic Department since she was in charge of both.

More OCC expansion talks were this week. Dover and New Philly have both officially said they would like to join the OCC. Interesting.

Well done.
I'm sure they're a package deal. 9 instead of 7 isn't a lot different. Maybe someone will be opposed, leave and make it 8.
