I know a couple people within the Tygers that wanted to see the OC gone. Only TWO people?? Hardly anything to hang your hat on. Heck, there's usually a half dozen PO'd people, even if you go undefeated.

When did Madison scrimmage Clearfork? I know they played a 7 on 7 and from my understanding Madison didn’t do half bad against clearfork. I did mean the 7 on 7.

Mansfield will be tested first game against Norwalk. Norwalk has a playoff caliber team this year.

Norwalk will certainly know alot more about themselves after week 1. From talking to some Norwalk people, they are cautiously optimistic about the season. Lots of talent and a new coach.

Mansfield will be tested first game against Norwalk. Norwalk has a playoff caliber team this year. How does Mansfield look? Is that statement based on seeing both teams and knowing their rosters? OR is that based on you were impressed with Norwalk and assume they can test Mansfield? I wonder because I have seen Mansfield and have not seen Norwalk.

Mansfield looked to be very good this year. They have a big Oline and Dline. Norwalk will be lucky that they don’t have to play Mansfield when Mansfield has their starting QB. That being said Norwalk better have strong line play or it could be a very long night for them.

I’m out here at the Ontario and Madison scrimmage and I must say they both look terrible. Madison looks to have around 35 players 10-12. Ontario looks to have around maybe 25. It’s going to be a long season for both of them. This is so sad to see because They both look like a JV team at best.

This is really sad to see because I remember Madison’s senior class when they were freshman they had 25 kids alone. Also Madison’s Junior class used to beat Mansfields good junior class when they were in junior high. It’s going to be a long couple years in Madison. I don’t see this coach flipping things around. Madison needs to bring in a young ex Madison guy.

I understand what you are saying about the classes but are they the same athletes? Between Mansfield and Madison the kids have been known to change. From what I have seen the main problems at Madison are not the coaches.

My guess is you will get a solid does of their backup QB as they prepare for their first 5 games. They may sprinkle in the Ontario transfer some just to keep him fresh and ready for action.

Since he can't play until the second half of the season I would doubt he sees the field at all. There is no sense in putting him in jeopardy given the severe injury he is recovering from.

You may be right but the injury is not a concern for practice time right now. He has been playing multiple sports for a few months now and is included in activities to keep him ready for when his number is called. I would not be surprised to see him get a snap or two.

wow how far Madison has fallen since Conway hung it up. Is it lack of talent? Lack of interest in football? Coaching? Culture?
Also, what does Wooster have this year?
Doesn't WH return a lot as well?
Ashland is my pick for league champs

There’s a lack of interest at Madison for sure and this new coach isn’t going to help. Like I said before the current Junior class at Madison was very good in Junior high and beat Mansfield’s very good junior class when they played. The players loved Conway and I wish he would go back to coaching. He’s still at Madison as a Principal and I was hoping he would return as the coach. It’s sad to see where Madison Football is headed. I really believe Madison needs to hire a young ex Madison player to coach.

Madison has won 2 games in the last 2 years. One of those years they had arguably the best athlete to ever come through the school, going to take a whole lot more then a new coach to turn that program around.

What is meant by turning the program around or this new coach is not going to help or not liking where the program is headed? In the last 18 years(used because of easy record access) Madison has had only 7 winning seasons and 8 losing seasons with 3 seasons at 5-5. Do some think this is the fault of coaching? Even when Madison had much better numbers they were having 1-9 seasons. So is the 2 wins in the last 2 years because of the lack of interest? Or maybe it is just the normal for Madison football.

It is probably a mix of both. Sometimes all you need a new energy that a coach can bring. Sometimes though too much losing, especially at sport like football can just turn people away from the program. Maybe they will start heading in the right direction.
A side not for those who travel to games at Ashland. They upgraded the home stands to be handicap accessible, and sometime this fall will start the new field house at the south endzone. Along with 3 varsity size basketball courts, it will have new locker rooms and restrooms. Should all be done by next year.

That sounds great. Is that going to be just south of the long jump pit or are they also taking out that practice field south of the baseball diamond?

What will really turn Madison's program around is for the pendulum to swing and have Senior players transferring to Madison again. As opposed to Madison players transferring to Senior, as it is now.
