Based on the story, it sounds like the XC team does this regularly for the visiting team. One of the mothers in the video said she had to explain to her son why they were treated unfairly? I think sometimes people try to make something out of nothing. I think several schools in the conference have a nice blend of race. BINGO!! Someone could easily contact Clyde, Firelands and Mt Vernon to see if the XC team regularly does this.

I found it interesting that the Ashland AD apologized to the Mansfield community, Administration, coaches, parents and "most" of the players.

If that's the only thing that can motivate the conference favorite, the Senior coach should use the same strategy.

I have coached at Ashland High School several times within the last decade, in multiple sports as well as played multiple sports there many times in the past several decades, never once were my teams greeted with any type of fruit or other food for that matter. The whole situation is unfortunate and could have been prevented with better communication from Ashland Administrators/AD to Mansfields Administrators/AD. The sad reality is that we can not take things like this for granted in the society we live in today, even if it was intended to be an act of kindness.

I have never heard anyone mention ever getting fruit left in the Ashland locker room. Not a subject worth mentioning. The Ohio State marching band has a huge banana that one guy is charged with running around with it shaking it at the crowd. You couldn't pay me $10,000 a piece to send my kids to Senior High. Every time I glance at the police calls in the MNJ there is 3 or 4 police calls to the school that day.

Seeing Mansfield 5th is to bad. Losing major players to injuries will do that.

Lexington seems to be one of the biggest surprises this season after a difficult start. Good for them. Not making excuses for them but condition was a factor early in the year. They could/should have won the first 2 games but were tired in the 4th quarter in those games and could not finish.

So with two weeks left the OCC playoff picture is still pretty up in the air. Lexington has come from no where to find themselves in the best position. Last two games should be easy wins 6-4 should get them in. Wooster is in today, but Region 7 is loaded. Will definitely need to win out and maybe get someone else to lose. West Holmes was in the drives seat for a playoff spot, but will now have to win out and get some help to sneak in. Ashland plays both West Holmes this week, and Wooster next week, should be an interesting last 2 weeks.

How do you lose to Ontario and Shelby, then come back later in the year to beat Ashland? Was Lex missing players earlier in the year or have they just improved since then?

Changes have been made and experience has been gained. QB started his first varsity game in week 1. Other players have been moved around and become more productive.

Big game in Amish country tonight. What's the over/under for total passing yards in this game?

Although I picked Ashland to win this game, I could easily see it going to West Holmes. If West Holmes can contain the Ashland offense, they have a good chance as they will be able to grind it out on the ground.

Lexington is basically already in the playoffs. 99% chance they get in if they win. 98% chance if they lose. www.fantastic50.net/team154.html

Since they do not have a playoff status of "control own destiny" I would assume that means they need more than a win in week ten to make it. Drew Pasteur lists them as lock or near lock 99%+. It is technically possible that Lexington wins and the stars align for them to miss the playoffs, but you probably have a better chance at winning the lottery than that happening. www.fantastic50.net/r10pct.htmlEssentially a whole lot would have to happen for them to lose their playoff spot. Its possible, but very very unlikely. They could lose their next game and its very very likely that they still make the playoffs. Just the way the point system works.

It is very likely that the points will fall in their favor if they get a win themselves. The DP site plays the odds of wins and right now he has Rocky River and Padua with losses this week to help. If either of them win it could be trouble. Sandusky should win for sure and BG is a slight favorite in their game. All of those games will play a factor.
