What about the bv pleasant game this Friday? Both teams 2-1 in league play. I think it will be a great game. I don't put much faith in their current league records. BV has played Gallion, Fairbanks, and Alter. Pleasant has played Alter, RV, NU. I would say that the hardest part of BV schedule is ahead of them. The next 2 weeks will determine how much Pleasant has improved. I would like to know how much field conditions effected the BV vs JA game?

In regards to the field conditions, they were bad in spots, specifically in the middle of the field. I thought BV managed them better than Alder in the passing game. BV receivers did have some key drops, but I was impressed with there sure hands overall. BV QB looked good throwing and muddy/wet ball. On the other side, Alder's QB had trouble throwing the ball and getting it out quickly. Didn't test BV deep at all, played pretty conservatively with short passes and more run plays. Weren't as balanced. #25 Koenig was injured in the 2nd Qtr and didnt return, he is one of Alder's other go to receiver/playmaker.

After a little research I have found, Marion County Football has a rich history. Marion Harding had decent seasons but Pleasant winning 3 state titles in 72, 96 & 02.

JA's opposing teams have had a better opportunity to move the ball in the air against JA's defense and therefor the opposing QB's usually have pretty good games stat wise. Here are the QB attempts, completions and yards stats from the game for both QB's. BV QB: 46 attempts 24 catches (52.1%) for 254 yards (10.58 yards per completion). JA QB: 12 attempts 7 catches (58.3%) for 113 yards (16.1 yards per completion).

In case you haven't noticed it's 2016 now. The '90's were a long time ago. Harding has a better tradition than JA or Pleasant? Please give me some of what you're smoking. Lol you guys have no idea We actually have a State Championship trophy in our trophy case.

There is no atmosphere in moac like Harding games. The amount of people there at the games other schools can't compare.

I watched a playoff game at Harding about ten years ago. It was big walnut vs Willard. Maybe the year before big nut won their state championship? I agree that it's a good stadium for a game. What will hurt you for anything beyond the second round is parking.

All the side streets around are used. Plenty of space

The OHSAA doesn't like side streets because they can't charge for parking. They want a central lot.

Any school could host and be in the playoffs. It's as simple as hosting a Friday game when you play on Saturday or vice versa. The OHSAA just doesn't want a school to host and play on the same night for obvious reasons.

Watched Pleasant beat Ridgedale at Harding in 2002 regional semis on Pleasant's way to the state championship in D5 that year. Four years later I watched Ashland beat Tiffin Columbian in D2 regional semi. Nothing quite like the smoke and aroma coming up at the south end of the home stands from the concession brats stand.

Been in many stadiums better but the Harding location is a very good one for playoffs. Judging from the JV game this past week, I disagree. I don't think vehicle access is that great and parking was a pain. Even for the JV game I had to park in the school parking lot and walk all of the way around to the front gate (which I admit would have been better if the visitor side gate/ticket booth would have been open). The stadium (stands) itself are pretty good though. Probably never happen anytime soon, but if Harding ever built a stadium at the new high school location it would be perfect. Right off of 23 at the interchange with 309. Easy in/out access. Modern construction and probably field turf as well.

New turf is going in next year, and they're doing a while renovation to the whole place. I seen the picture and it looks to be one of the nicest in Ohio when done. Visitor gates only open for varsity games probably. But new track and visitor stands so far. Within 5 years it'll all be done I believe.

I seem to remember hearing something about that when the new high school opened.

The airport thing is a myth.
I've asked the Mayor and County Commissioners and they said Harding could build a football stadium if they wanted to. They just didn't have the money when they build the school

There is no way to build what they have now at the new site. That old construction would cost a fortune to recreate and once they put all the money in the track that option was killed.

By today's standards, the stadium at Harding is greatly overrated. Parking is ridiculously poor. Bleachers, quite honestly are OK, nothing great. In Central Ohio with the available facilities in the Dublin, Olentangy, Worthington, Westerville and Hilliard Schools there are much better facilities. North Central Ohio, the new turf at Hayes (although not the best parking) has made it a superior facility to Harding's Stadium. Staying in Delaware, Ohio Wesleyan's Selby Field has hosted playoff games and is a superior facility.

On the bright side, anyone who has been to Donnell Stadium in Findlay for a playoff game knows that clearly bad parking is not a disqualifier for hosting playoff games.

On another note coming from a Fairbanks homer.... any shot we get any Moac red wins this year? Harding, JA and pleasant will destroy us and did. Was not impressed with an RV team that dressed 70 guys. Best shot will be against Galion. Fairbanks had some good teams in the late 90's and early 2000's with athletes and size. Wish they could get back to some of that competitiveness.

Oooohh! I'm excited. Galion (I'm being told.) had a good week of practice. Like you said beautiful weather tonight, it's going to be a perfect night for football. I'll be watching the scores. 1..to see how bad JA beats Harding and 2. To see how Pleasant does. That team is decent. My Tigers are going to shock the world.....right!!! LOL It is a rivalry game though I'm being told. GO TIGERS!!!!
