Previous Harding head coach will be coaching DBs at Findlay High School. Quick move for a guy that said he wanted to step away for his family. I get it, not a head coach so a lesser role. But into coaching that quick, makes you think he wasn’t honest in his reason leaving.

The previous HC at Harding was obssessed with turning that program around. I think more went into him deciding to resign (Community things and overall pressure) but I can tell you that the amount of time that he will put in as just a position coach pales in comparison to the amount of time that is put as a HC.
I did hear he will be teaching in Findlay Schools as well. He's a good dude and I wish him well. Rumor has it Ross tried to keep him on staff as DC.
On the current Harding front, have heard that the numbers have been good. They currently have between 20-25 Seniors. If Ross can find a way to put it all together, this team has potential.

Sounds like Harding has great numbers. They should be a solid team in the MOAC this season. See if they can take their success from track and carry it over to football. Maybe this is the year they take that step and compete for MOAC title.

Have decent numbers showing up, always have athletes. They are always beat in trenches though. I’m interested to see Ross coach, his style, etc.

Pleasant will be playing in the MOAC for the foreseeable future, as their as well as Willard's application for admission to the N-10 were both denied.

I’m curious as to what Pleasant’s next move might be. There are not a lot of options out there. The N10 was by far their best option which is only an option at this point if someone leaves.

Why does Pleasant want to leave to begin with? They have won a lot in this league. Drives aren’t bad at all. I like them in the MOAC. Football has been very good in the this league. They haven’t won a bunch of league titles in football the past five years but they have been top 2 overall program and a mainstay in the playoffs. To me they have dominated at times too. They win way more than they lose in football. Basketball has been Middle to top also.

League Games: 26-6 during those 4 years, which is when I believe all the current teams came into the league. Shelby was 2019, but the others were somewhat in that time. 2020 was down for PHS but weird year for every school with only six games. I would say Pleasant has been very good in this league. Just surprised they would want out. It will be interesting to see what the new staff does and what results come.

Pleasant wanting to leave is a mystery to me. They have competed in the MOAC just fine until last year. They are the smallest school but not that much smaller than Galion or Clear Fork. There is a big size difference up to Harding and River Valley but they have played RV ever since RV was formed.

Is Pleasant in the same division for any sport as another school in the MOAC?

Is Pleasant in the same division for any sport as another school in the MOAC? Why would you of all people ask that question, especially when you know the answer. As you're the one who always tells everyone it should not matter.

Is Pleasant in the same division for any sport as another school in the MOAC? No they aren’t. An answer you already knew. But again my point is this wasn’t a problem until last year when they were down. This is my point.

Unless Galion teams up with Pleasant to get in the N-10 That isn’t going to happen either. This vote of the N10 solidifies in my mind that the N10 is a 8 team conference. I believe they will change their name to reflect that. The only way Pleasant gets in that conference is if someone leaves.

I spoke with someone from North Union who claimed to be friends with some of the MP coaches. He says this has been a discussion among their coaches for 4-5 years but only recently have the admins been active.

Not sure how even score is kept for a 7 on 7, but Harding went 6-1 at Wooster today, not sure what other teams

Hearing the Whippets might be running some old Ashland stuff this year. They might be wide open! Also heard CF is back in the spread. Might be a wide open high scoring lead this year.

CF has been running a form of the spread for a while. By design they are still a running team but trying to space the defense. Since going from 90 kids on a roster down to 45, they have not had the historic O-line to create huge holes or running backs of the past. They have been putting their best athlete at QB so he can throw a 3yd pass into space or take off on a run of his own. Even their 30yd pass plays are still a 27yd run after the catch.

Unckrich Stadium is sporting new lights. Lights were installed on the existing towers in 2011, but the towers dated back to the early 1970’s. There are now 4 light towers (as opposed to 6 before), sporting 8 lights Two rows of 4 apiece for a total of 32 lights.

If any of you happen to know of a smaller MOAC school in need of a junior high scrimmage, please let me know. Preferably sometime the week of Aug 9-Aug 13. My scrimmage with Worthington Christian on Aug 7 was canceled. Thanks!

I'm not sure. I wasn't given a reason for the cancelation. Tried to get with Ridgedale but it doesn't look like that is gonna work out either.
