Looked like Kluber was get stuck with a loss after pitching a complete game having giving up only 1 run....but it turns into a walkoff win after some great at bats in the bottom of the 9th

I love to be wrong like I was. Venting my frustration seems to work with Gomes getting the winning HR.

Jackson may have looked at strike 3 but it wasn't called. Game was extended and we walked off. Need to get mini-series sweep tomorrow.

This is why we love this game, wow! Kluber & Marquez both pitched a gem of a game, Tribe still down 1-0 in the 9th, were down to their last strike (gasp) on several occasions and Gomes hits that magic connection with his bat! Progressive field was rockin!

How about benching Kipnis (who swings and misses much too often) and putting Ushela(sp) at third with Ramirez at second. Even Ramirez is slumping as are most of the tribe.

Miller may need to be postseason closer. Allen is hurting us. May not happen though due to Miller's ability to come in anytime and get 3-6 outs.

Well as a Reds fan I can tell you that your strikeout total is going to rise dramatically.

Galion -- that is true, but Kipnis is a huge disappointment and a strike out machine as well. At least Bruce hits HRs and has RBIs on occasion.
The Indians outfield has produced 37 home runs this season. Bruce has hit 29 and driven in 75 runs. Brantley is basically a walking advertisement for health insurance, Zimmer is still learning and Abe is an abyss and likely to be let go if Chisenhall returns. Bruce will provide some cushion, hopefully, for EE and Jose and take a little pressure off them.
Otherwise, this offense is stinko and anything will help. Bruce is immediately the team leader in HRs and RBIs. At least the Dolans are stepping up; it is time for these jokers to earn their pay.

Maybe most of the tribe players had career years in 2016 and they think they're entitled this year. I cannot believe how many swings and misses Kipnis has on low inside pitches. You would think he would learn to let these pitches go, but NO!

hey you're not gonna have great seasons year in and year out, just gotta keep grinding and hopefully clinch
even a guy like Kris Bryant is having a down year, it happens...it's a team game, Bauer is looking ok and Salazar is looking ok and Carrasco is HEALTHY at least...Kluber has been lights out
right where we want to be, just gotta seal the deal...Bruce is a good get, i've ridden the Jay Bruce train in fantasy before and he is as streaky as they come...but when he is on a hot streak he can win you a series darn near all by himself

So long as the team you're playing doesn't have any left handed pitchers who can throw any offspeed stuff.

Some great pitching over the weekend results in the Tribe taking 3 of 4 at Tampa Bay.
There's a makeup game tonight in Boston, followed by 2 big series at MIN and KC.

Scary back to back series that should determine if we are going to have a nail biter finish to the season or relaxing cruise to the playoffs. Sure wish we had the services of Andy Miller.

Now that's good news! Everyone likes to spell out the various deficiencies of this team, but tend to forget good coaches find ways to win, despite glaring deficiencies. Nobody's better at it than Terry Francona.

Scary back to back series that should determine if we are going to have a nail biter finish to the season or relaxing cruise to the playoffs. As of this morning the Indians have a 5 game lead over both MIN and KC, which is the biggest lead we've had all year. Will be interesting to see where that stands after these next 6 games. And then right after that we have series against the Red Sox and Yankees with another against KC sandwiched in between.

The Tribe has a daunting task in the coming weeks. Francona will be pumping his guys up with a positive message of 'the opportunity is before us.' This can be the stretch where we show the baseball world, last season wasn't a fluke.

IMO, if they play .500 ball over that period they'll come out of it with a 5 game lead.

Chis heads to Columbus for his 2nd rehab game. Had a .900+ OPS when he went down.

This series vs Twinkies and next vs royals gives the Tribe a chance to put some real distance between themselves and rest of division. IF they win both series (not necessarily sweep) they could find themselves 7-8 games or more up heading into September. talk about pressure on the wannabees!

I agree, all the pressure is on the Twins & Royals. I'm holding my breath and praying we take both series. If we can accomplish that, we need only match their efforts the rest of the way out.

Jay Bruce is showing his value to this team. A power hitter swinging from the left is going to be invaluable.

2 of 3 from both MIN and KC to keep the lead over MIN at 5 and expand the lead over KC to 6.5
Overall ended up being a 8-3 road trip

As glad as Encarnacion and Santana are having him hitting between them in the lineup. You can see it in their body language in the batter's box. He also moves a .325 hitter to 7th in the batting order. What do you do when 2 of their 3 best hitters before the the All-Star break come off the DL??
If begs the question be asked. Does management step up and pay Bruce what he'll want next year?

We were discussing just that dilemma tonight. When players get back, who do you replace? Who do you leave out of the post season?
Indians start out the series with Boston on the right foot, winning in the 9th with a fielders choice, with a man on 2nd. Now up 6 on Minn. and 7 on the Royals. This is a challenging stretch, Francona will have them focused on taking it one game at a time.

Well since Santana and Miller both went down tonight I think that you can table that discussion. Either Edwin, Bruce, or Chis is now going to have to man 1st base for a while.
