Upset not so much about the young man, but the fact he was allowed to play while wearing it, which was an admin/coaching decision. Not good for the safety of others, no matter how much athletic tape you use to try to hide it. Good luck to him at Pleasant. We play PHS week 6 at home. I understand the idea of questioning why a young man with an ankle bracelet is on the field but how is it a safety concern?

Just getting back on, I started reading about girls sports above. I can see Harding girls being very good in basketball in 2 to 3 years. The girls coming in as freshman this year went 33-1 as middle schoolers. Future looks bright on that end. But back to fall sports. I was checking out the local High School teams in Marion seeing how they stack up to Harding this year. Both RV and Pleasant will give Harding a run. I could see HHS going 0-2 vs the other Marion Schools. While I was at Pleasant I noticed a familiar face on the sideline. Everyone remembers the kid with the ankle monitor at HHS last year, well he is now a Pleasant Spartan but will have to sit 5 games. He ran for 1000 yards in 7 games last year. I found out the HHS Coach kicked him off the team for the year for conduct detrimental to the team on the Friday before two a days started. With all the crap HHS took for allowing the kid to play last year from the Pleasant coaches and admins, can you say they are nothing but a bunch of hypocrites? Harding has a freshman coming in that can absolutely play. She was about all they had but she made others better with her passing. And she can shoot and handles it well. BV was only team to beat them and their freshman class is pretty good as well.

The athlete now at pleasant, well. He got in a fight with the athlete that moved from pleasant to Harding. And he didn't win that fight and was kicked off the team for starting it. I'm Sure he will do well over at pleasant in 5 games. Kid has a bad attitude tho. He moved from Harding to rv in middle school cause didn't get his way. Not sure what Harding does at rb now. Ladd or detwiler

So yeah, if you got hit by it....but then again we learned awhile ago that some things we will never agree on...but that is my female perspective, I guess, it wasn't an issue back in my volleyball days.

Did you have issues getting hit by people's ankles? It would be similar to wearing a sports watch on your ankle. They are covered with plastic to be water proof. Probably softer plastic than what is on the cleats and much softer than the helmet players are getting hit with.

Ladd or detwiler Talking with a jr high coach, I found out the kid was in 4 fights, 2 with the Ladd kid, 1 with another player on the team but the kid refuses to tell on him but others came forward and a video of him and his younger brother jumping and beating up another kid not on the team. Was told the younger brother was dismissed from jr high football team also. So far no one will press charges. I thought if they had video they didn't need anyone to press charges. Who knows. Good luck at Pleasant... RB at HHS will be Detwiler but a soph named Parsons will push for PT. Ladd has to sit 5 games due to the transfer rule.

Did his brother move with him I wonder? He's always been a WR or corner and pretty good. Just now a sophomore though.

Pleasant I'm not sure what they have outside of Douglas. They lost a big senior class that started everywhere.

His brother stayed, totally different kind of kid. Taller, lanky kid with speed but yes I would say wr/db. As for other transfers they had a kid named Cole, he was from RV but he went back to RV could not break into the starting lineup. Also the other one is named Harris he was at Pleasant last year but didn't play football. Both Pleasant and RV are loaded with skill kids from last year so they have a chance.

Harding kept trying to give him a chance but he just wouldnt stay out of trouble... The only thing i find funny about the whole situation is the rep Harding is getting from the other MOAC schools about this and similar situations and Pleasant does the exact same thing they were giving us crap for lol its sad really what kind of message does it show kids now a days?

Knee braces are not made of nerf material either. And it is a whole lot more likely that you are going to hit/get hit by one of those than something someone wears on their ankle.

IMO, it will come down to when the CBC will allow NU and London to join. The SBC didn't give Shelby a choice. They told them they were out after this year. Saying something to the effect, "You're either in or you're out". Not being happy about them joining the SBC then announcing they were leaving before playing a game. Thus Shelby would have to play an independent schedule next year, if they can't join the MOAC next year.

Shelby will be in the MOAC next year. For all the sports not called football, that is 100% correct. As as for football, that is yet to be decided. CBC is soon having their meeting to tell North Union whether or not they can get in for football right away. Word from NU will be coming soon. I personally think the CBC will work it out, but we will see in the near future.

It really has nothing to do with the CBC if the MOAC were to take the same position with NU as the SBC did with Shelby.

The MOAC might not be as obstinate as the SBC.

NU not accepted to CBC until 2019. Shelby is set to play an SBC football schedule (for those that still agree) in 2018 but will not be a conference member.

Just got word in it all NU stays in for 2018 football, but goes to the CBC for all other sports in 2018-2019. CBC just couldn't pull the trigger on 11-team football schedule after London was not allowed out of their football contracts by the MSL Shelby will play SBC football schedule for 2018, but will play MOAC for all other sports in 2018-2019 taking North Union's place. You see Scooter (Dude), the CBC DID have a big role in all this. Tried to tell you...as always.

If you could read, I said the CBC didn't matter if the MOAC pulled the same action that the SBC did and would tell NU they are out since they plan to leave. Shelby will not play an SBC schedule in 2018. They have already been told their football membership ends this year. Now thay may end up playing some SBC teams but not as a member.

That's not what I was just told about Shelby and their football membership in the SBC. I'm sure it will be reported in the paper soon. And the MOAC DID tell NU they could leave right away, but wasn't going to push them out needlessly. And what you said was incorrect, because even IF the MOAC had told North Union to leave early (like the SBC did with Shelby as you say) the CBC was considering the 11-team option for their conference so that North Union could play football there next year. That is now dead.

All I said was the MOAC has the power to do the same thing the SBC did and get Shelby in. Regardless of what the CBC wants to do.

Or your guy is. Guess it only matters if you live in Shelby. And they may not care that much either. My point was that everything to the South was based on the 11-team idea and Londons membership in the MSL. North Union asked for patience and got it because they were a charter member of the conference. They deserved that. Shelby had to roll the dice in that meeting with the SBC and is fortunate they are still playing SBC teams in football next fall. Could have been ugly to fill that schedule.

Even kingmartinez said it above. They may play some SBC teams but will not be members.
Right now the SBC is a scramble trying to get schedules put together for such a large group and with Shelby leaving doesn't help. So from what I am told the SBC took a stance but some teams may still honor the games but some are truly upset with Shelby.

Given that this is the first year of the "new" SBC surely Shelby has a home and aaway contract with all of the current SBC schools on its schedule. If anything this benefits the SBC because now those teams won't need to scramble and find a one year contract to replace them for in 2018.
