I don't have a dog in this fight. It's an unspoken rule. When the team that is up big puts their twos in the team that's losing should do the same. How does scoring against another team's two make you better?

Another three and out.
Two offensive plays. Two TD. That's pretty efficient.

They have 6 players that if they transferred to another school would be the best player on their new teams offense.
They have an O line I'd put at the 70-75 percentile and improving.
They have a smothering D.
If they clean up the penalties and the O line continues to improve they'll be dang near unstoppable.

Run blocking way better this game. Kudos to the O line.
Too many penalties is about the only fault. The dropped passes are an exception. Haven't seen that all year.

First half.
Three dropped passes. 40ish yards of penalties on offense. A fumbled snap in their own end zone and Shelby still puts up 30.
Edison with first downs in their first drive and none since then.

The weather man says no more rain so if the field drains reasonably well weather shouldn't be a factor. Advantage Shelby. If the one player is their whole offense he better be dang good or it'll be lopsided.

41-0 was the final? Yes. Shelby's opening drive with starters ends at Huron's 20ish with a fumble. Huron then drove to Shelby's 20ish and stalled. That drive produced Huron's first first downs. Shelby played there JV's after and Huron did shortly after. Punt after punt.

How much cabbage are you willing to put on that one? I'll bet my bum bum Not even a 30 rack of Natty? Where's the confidence? I'll put up if you'll put up a six pack of my choice. I'm not a cheap date, though.

IF it gets lopsided AND Huron has dropped Shelby for next year I anticipate Shelby leaving their foot on the gas. Could get ugly.

My understanding is Shelby plays the exact same schedule as this year, but it will be as an independent. There is no chance for a division title and the kids cannot earn conference honors. Seems a bit punitive to me. Shelby went into the SBC making full disclosure that it was just until something better came along. Many of the lake schools responded we understand, we don't want to drive to Shelby either. What's the advantage to the SBC to do this except to take a team that might win the division out of the mix and open more spots for kids to get all-conference on teams staying? I know I'm biased, but it seems a little petty.

Plus we live in a different world than us old timers. Like it or not it is about numbers. Coaches are trying to get their kids noticed for the next level. You can argue it's a bad idea, but it is a reality. It's the same thing as "style points" in college ball. You can't just beat someone. You have to destroy them so you look good for the playoff selection committee. My entire senior year I think I played one series in the second half for 8/10 regular season games. It's not that way anymore. Right or wrong.

Thanks for the updates SportsNut! Any idea how many yards Brooks has? I asked the News Journal reporter on the sideline I know and he had him down for 149.

Keep in mind, depending on how many Jv players there are, the Jv are only aloud a certain about of quarters per week. Shelby possibly needed there starters to be in that long. I wasn't there though and known nothing about Shelby. To clarify it is a max of 4 qrtrs in a day and 50 qrtrs in a season(regular season only). Which for this team could be an issue since the jv will get a lot of time on Friday nights. No coach in his right mind is going to play someone who has a significant varsity role on Saturday morning. Nobody cares if a backup/JV player plays two quarters on Friday and a full game on Saturday. That is likely to happen to Shelby all year meaning some JV players could get as many as 6 * 10 quarters and you'll never hear a word because nobody cares. Football has too high an injury risk. It self regulates. Those rules are for bball, vball, etc. Anyone ever heard of a football program getting busted for this?

Very few high school teams have 5 receivers that can get open and be counted on to catch the ball. Then there is a QB that will make them catch it. No excuse because the ball will be there. Then there is a big, athletic o line. Two of them are/were bball players. The QB can run and the stand in RB is no slouch. Imagine when the all-state RB returns.

If Shelby's line blocks like they did against Madison and Lex I could run for over 100. If they block like they did against Willard it'll be close. I'm still not sure Bellevue can win. Shelby has two receivers that are nearly indefensible and two others that have scored. Even if the line doesn't block well, Armstrong doesn't need a big hole. Plus he can read the option better which will get him and the freshman plenty of runnning room.

IIRC Sandusky was pay to play at about the same time, too. Sandusky doesn't have pay to pay?? Ontario folks were told they will always have pay to play. And every year they have many more applying for Open Enrollment than they can take. ' I seem to remember discussions on the old NOSF around the same time. Perkins started open enrollment at the same time Sandusky implemented pay to play (not suggesting intentionally). It was a perfect storm. Then a year or two later Perkins had to start pay to play as well. Someone from up north with more information can either confirm or correct me.

And the softball field would need moved for bleachers.
Took 9 seconds for Shelby to score. 7-0.

If the current levy passes the stadium will be moved to where the new high school is. Everything will be at one site. My guess is the new field would probably be artificial turf. I think the stadium downtown is cool. The problem is they only give the home stands about 5 ish years without expensive repairs.

One of the coolest venues to play, IMO. The locals have chairs modified with the back legs shorter to sit on that hill. I've heard there were discussions about expanding the seating and it was nixed. People have their spots on the hill.

OSU was rotating defensive line almost every play or every chance they got to sub. Our D-line is so deep. Even Chase Young was getting a lot of snaps. And this is with Mike Hill suspended as well. Which is why I laughed when the talking heads were saying Indiana's pace might wear OSU down. How, when our DL takes half the snaps of Indiana's OL?

Two consecutive drops on Campbell then the O-coordinate calls a 4th and 2 run giving it to the skinniest player on the team. If ALL players on the team were playing like Dobbins OSU would be up by 4 TDs I forgive him 😜

You can if he plays horribly and doesn't throw the ball with accuracy more than 5 yards downfield on a regular basis.  True test will be after game 2.  Then its literally an OSU cake walk until the end of the season. I just want to win, I don't give a shat who has what stats. I don't play the immature blame game. It would be great to win by 50, but a 1 point win is all that's required. Unfortunately that's not true in the current system. Two words, style points.
