one thing is for certain—- if you are running a CFB or CB program,,,your NIL had better be prepared and ready as College athletes are all essentially one year free agents. A total money grab for the players and their families instead of a free education and D1 experience. I wish there was transparency about how much each player makes from their NIL deal.

I( think the winner of the first play in game should have a choice of being the 7th or 8th seed. I think the Lakers would rather play the Thunder instead of the Nuggets.

I think last year the SBC had 11 teams make the playoffs out of 18 teams. It doesn't seem like the scheduling is broken.

Well Ohio State has the NCAA champ at 141-Sophomore Jesse Mendez. Another Buckeye, Rocco Welsh made the finals and lost to Carter Starocci (4 time winner). Aaron Brooks from Penn State also won for the 4th time. There were some pretty good matches. I did not know they changed the scoring and now a take down is worth 3 points. A reversal is still 2. I think it made the matches more interesting. Has high school changed also?

Has anyone heard of any truth to Liberty Benton and Port Clinton having interest in joining the NBC to make it a 10 school league? If there’s any truth to that then Huron and Edison are in a tough spot. NBC does not want LB. Not sure why’d they’d want PC either. Looking at 55-65 one way bus rides for Otsego/Rossford/Maumee. Maybe try to go west and get Swanton if you’re after PC for the NBC. I don’t think we see any movement from the NBC personally though. Using Google Maps: Maumee to Port Clinton 48 miles, Otsego to Port Clinton 43 miles, Rossford to Port Clinton 37 miles. Oak Harbor to Swanton 43 miles, Fostoria to Swanton 49 miles I guess I don't see geography as a big deal for not admitting Port Clinton but there may be other reasons.

To change course a little, I have Shelby as the 7th Richland County school to reach State? Clear Fork Lexington Malabar Mansfield Senior Mansfield St. Pete Ontario Shelby I guess it depends on how you define Richland County school. Ashland and Loudonville have a small part of their district in Richland County and they have both been to the state BBall Tournament. I assume Richland has the schools with state appearances in the North Central Ohio area but I've never seen a list by county. education.ohio.gov/getattachment/Topics/Data/Ohio-Educational-Directory-System-OEDS/2016-School-District-Map.pdf

Fogle has had some interest in football. I know he performed well at the Ohio State football camp last summer. But his first love I believe is basketball. Where he has excelled in high level AAU basketball. He plays in a boat load of games there including the Peach Jam in South Carolina. Thats where he he's gotten most of his notariaty. But then again Cade Stover said at one point that his favorite sport was basketball and now is on the verge of being drafted into the NFL. Also Lexington's game plan doesn't necessarily lend to a guy scoring 30 a game. When they are successful they get 3-5 guys in double figures. From a rivalry standpoint I have no love loss for Willard. I always want to beat them in basketball. I miss playing them in the regular season. Willard has a great program and a storied history. As for the game tonight. Shelby has been playing lights out the last 16 games. But it was shown that against Mansfield Senior they were not invincible. Either is Lex. But Lex I believe has got their number and wins a close one. Go BIG LEX!!! Is the Lexington coach very experienced? On that last out of bounds play it could easily have been charging when the defender (Hudson?) was running the baseline following the inbounder. That's sort of a basketball 101 play and the Lex defender didn't seem to be aware. I assume the coaches didn't warn him in the previous timeout. If charging was called, Max would have had 2 free throws to tie it and send it to another overtime. Just wondering.

Are their complaints about the SBC divisions in sports other than football? Who really cares what division Margaretta is in for non-football sports? It's not like they have reeled off 4 or 5 consecutive conference championships (except maybe in some girls sports).

Ohio St should have been a tournament team. Holtmann is an evil man. The Buckeyes will need a deep Big Ten tourney run to even have a shot. Not much chatter about them even being on the bubble right now. This is from ESPN (fwiw) WIN AND IN:
•TCU vs. Oklahoma (both), Big 12 opening round, Wednesday, 3 p.m. •Mississippi St. (vs. LSU), SEC, Thursday, 1 p.m. •Virginia (vs. Clemson/Boston College/Miami), ACC, Thursday, 9:30 p.m. OUT WITHOUT THIS WIN:
•Wake Forest (vs. Notre Dame/Georgia Tech), ACC, Wednesday, 2:30 p.m. •New Mexico (vs. Air Force), Mountain West, Wednesday, 7:00 p.m. •Villanova (vs. DePaul), Big East, Wednesday, 9 p.m. •Utah (vs. Arizona St.), Pac-12, Wednesday, 11:30 p.m. •St. John's (vs. Seton Hall), Big East, Thursday, 2:30 p.m. •Pittsburgh (vs. Wake Forest/Georgia Tech), ACC, Thursday, 2:30 p.m. •Memphis (vs. Rice/Wichita St.), AAC, Thursday, 2:30 p.m. •Texas A&M (vs. Ole Miss), SEC, Thursday, 7 p.m. • Iowa (vs. Ohio State), Big Ten, Thursday, 6:30 p.m.

Really? I would be very surprised. Mansfield/Shelby, A #5 seed against a #1 seed would be a little bit of an upset but when you look at it with state rankings, it would be an unranked team against the #2 team in the state. = surprise Willard/Lexington A #3 seed against a #2 seed is not much of an upset and in state rankings it's a #7 against a #3. = no surprise My wife tells me I’m only an expert on one thing and that’s my opinion.

Sectional Final Match-ups, all games will start at 7:00pm Upper Bracket Tuesday February 27th #11 Bucyrus #1 Ashland Crestview #9 Oregon Cardinal Stritch vs. #2 Castalia Margaretta Lower Bracket #6 Oak Harbor vs. #3 Genoa Area #5 Millbury Lake vs. #4 Bucyrus Wynford Upper bracket will be a snoozer Friday, but it'll setup a great district semi matchup next Thursday with Marg/Crestview. That lower bracket would have been a fun host site sectional night. Should be two good games. OH seems to have Genoa's number for whatever reason but Genoa's been playing well and OH hasn't been. Wynford has some firepower and so does Lake. That game could get pretty high scoring. I think it's next Wednesday 3/6. Is the OHSAA website incorrect?

Shelby was deeper and bigger. Willard needed to play a near perfect game and Shelby just took advantage of our cold shooting and made a lot of easy shots on transition or offense rebounds. I expect to see Shelby vs Luth West at BG I haven't seen Lexington this year but somehow they beat this Shelby team in late December. Maybe Shelby has improved since then.

Game is at the House that Haas built. Home teams on home floors in this rivalry can be worth 10 pts or more imo -- just the way it usually works. Unless there is a big disparity in talent, which there is not, the home team usually wins in this rivalry. Bet on the Flashes in this one. I think Shelby has a lot more talent than Willard. I guess we'll find out soon.

Max will need to have a game like the 1st half Booker of Pleasant had against Shelby for Willard to keep it close (imho). But I hope it's a good game and it's on OH Report. Max has been having those games regularly for the last 2 seasons. Oh sure, Max is great, but Ramsey is a stellar defender and the team height of Shelby should bother the Flashes quite a bit (imho).

Why do you think Margaretta wanted to play Crestview in the District semis instead of the Finals? More time to prepare? Crestview has seen a lot of junk defenses and slow down offenses but I would think Margaretta won't have to do any of that.
